Bought a bottle of this from the new Berry Brothers shop in Pall Mall, very reasonably priced at £49. If you're ever in London this shop is a treat, with an outstanding choice of spirits and with knowledgeable staff...knowledgeable enough to recommend this to me, at any rate!
Newly opened, I wondered what the fuss was about, it seemed to me to be a strong spirit that was short on flavour. Get past the shoulder, though, and give it a week after opening...the hype seems underrated! A stupendous dram, and another bottle ordered.
This is a damn fine peaty, smoky, beef, salty expression! I loved it!
"Dearie me!" Good on you, mate! 😆😆😆 4:00
Oh dearie dearie me fella...thanks for dropping by fella...🤪🥃
Hi from Switzerland.
I love this whisky. In my country we can find it at 72 CHF (64.5 pounds).
In my permashelf for the peated whiskies I've got Port Charlotte 10 heavily peated at 63.2 CHF (56.6 pounds), Ledaig 10 at 49 CHF (43.92 pounds), Longrow peated at 57 CHF (51 pounds), Port Askaig 100 % at 74 CHF (66,3 pounds), Laphroaig Quartercask at 55 CHF (49.5 pounds), Lagavulin 8 at 60 CHF (53.8 pounds) Kilchoman Sanaig at 64 CHF (57.36) , I love the Loch Gorm but it's 96,5 CHF (86.5 pounds), AnCnoc peatheart at 66.5 CHF (59.6 pounds) that I discovered recently, my wife loves it and I find it excellent. What do you think about the last one?
Never tried the peatheart. Im sure its very nice....thanks for dropping by my friend...
So glad these are finally core range!!! This might be my favorite for this line ever
Think they will always have some sort of variation Zac this is 90% bourbon cask but the next could be 70%....so if your loving this one stock up fella as the next might be a touch different....long time fella you good....and as always thanks for the support buddy...
Very nice dram
It’s very tasty. Last they released their new sherry cask. It’s awesome been drinking it all weekend.
PS. Grateful to my husband for bringing this delicious expression back from the U.K. while on a business trip!! I don’t think this beauty is available yet in Canada. Cheers!!
well done you....enjoy Christine and thanks for dropping by....
@@thewhiskyfriend Thanks so much Alan!! Cheers! 🙂
Always liked the Peat in Progress! Shame the price in the States is $90 minimum. I remember getting batch 1 for $65. I can still find Laphroaig 10 CS (at offer or coupon) around $72-$75usd which is fine for me!
Alan, your starting to sound like a peathead.
I love a KK peated. They are doing a fine job, especially at cask strength.
I'm enjoying batch 7 and I think it will always deserve a spot on my bar. Right next to Laph10 CS.
No chance of me becoming a peathead just keeping the peat boys and girls happy fella.. sherry all the way my friend....
I've got to find that one!!
It is the easiest of the Kilkerrans to find fella...thanks for dropping by my friend...
Thanks for reviewing Alan.
Have not come across this one, but given the fact it has only 10% sherry it is a whisky I will look out for.
Slàinte mhath
Hardly tasted anything sherry in this one Frank, i think this is one you would enjoy fella
@@thewhiskyfriend hooray 👐
Alan, sounds very interesting but unfortunately around here the standard 12 year is over $100 and very hard to find locally. Always great to hear of alternatives. CHEERS!
look out for the Allt Glann from Torabhaig ,,the cask strength is lovely fella
@@thewhiskyfriend+1 from me for that torabhaig cask strenght.
Haven’t popped the cork on my bottle yet 🤷♂️. Slàinte Alan
What you waiting for David....🤪🥃
Great review Alan! I have a bottle of batch 5 but this one sounds like one I need to keep an eye open for.
If you see it bag it fella...it lovely.
I loved this one. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Cheers!
Its very nice Jon...can you get these in your area my friend..?
@@thewhiskyfriendI've only seen one release, but really enjoyed it!
Alan, it’s Delicious, I bought four bottles! 😂
Whos a greedy boy then...😜 well done fella..🥃
I liked this one so much I bought a second bottle for the stash. I just love that burst of tropical fruits on the palate! Such a great mouthfeel as well. Easily one of my favourites at the moment.
Same here my friend...its defo a good one...
Absolutely delicious
Agreed fella....
I had batch 6 and it was ok, but a bit underwhelmed. Do you think this batch is worth picking up? Or as suggested, maybe try the Torabhaig? Always chasing new deliciousness 😋
I would try the torabhaig cask strength as its wonderful 91/100 for me...
