- Flat croissant Italian-style sandwich
Serves 1 Prep 5 mins (+ 5 mins cooling time) Cooking 10 mins
2 Coles Bake at Home All Butter Croissants
1 tbs butter, softened
2 tsp hot chilli honey
2 slices prosciutto
1 small red or yellow heirloom tomato, thinly sliced
10g Coles Australian Baby Rocket
75g burrata or fresh mozzarella, drained
Hot chilli honey, extra, to serve (optional)
1. Place the croissants on a clean work surface and use a rolling pin to gently roll until flat. Spread both sides with the butter.
2. Heat a large frying pan over medium-low heat. Drizzle the croissants with honey. Add to the pan and cook for 2-3 mins each side until golden and crisp. Set aside for 5 mins to cool slightly.
3. Top 1 croissant evenly with the prosciutto, tomato, rocket and burrata or mozzarella. Drizzle with extra honey, if using. Top with remaining croissant and press down gently. Serve immediately.
Cheesy croissant toastie
Serves 2 Prep 5 mins Cooking 15 mins
189g pkt Coles Bake at Home All Butter Croissants
¼ cup (60g) cream cheese, softened
1 spring onion, thinly sliced
½ cup (30g) Coles Australian Pizza Blend Shredded Cheese
2 tbs honey, warmed
1 tsp wholegrain mustard
1. Preheat grill to high. Use a serrated knife to split the croissants horizontally (don’t cut all the way through). Carefully open croissants.
2. Spread the cut sides of the croissants evenly with the cream cheese and sprinkle with half the spring onion. Top with the pizza cheese.
3. Place on a baking tray and grill for 4 mins or until the cheese melts and croissants are golden brown.
4. Combine the honey and mustard together in a small bowl. Drizzle croissants with honey mixture and sprinkle with remaining spring onion. Season and serve immediately.
