When I first saw this episode I wasn't a police officer yet. When I was hearing the calmness and control that officer had when he was calling the pursuit was amazing. My first ever pursuit was stressful and dangerous, but when I took a deep breath and slowed my heart rate down, I was able to focus and not worry about tunnel vision.
@@knightclassic1 Officer Olivieri actually recently retired but yeah he did become chief. Officer Cox might be in his 50s or 60s but not long ago after leaving Pomona PD, he became an officer for another agency. And Sgt Dale did leave some time after but sadly he passed away a few years ago
You’re welcome. If you still have those tapes you should look in digitizing them that way you have your collection saved and can even upload the rare episodes that many people have not seen in years
Thank God for the siren canceling feature when put in park that came out later. It's a shit show trying to search a scene for a suspect that bailed when there's a unit with the siren stuck in wail that someone forget to turn off lol
It’s seems like back then everyone knew the stakes. Cops chased, criminals fled, and then the criminals went to jail. End of story You can also tell the police back then were well trained! Very professional
@@yonisamber8169 pretty sure they started using that siren in 1980, when they started using lightbars. And then, I think, '94 was when they started using the Omega siren.
@chpman2013 yes, we started with a mix of wheelen strobes, and code-3 brand incandescent ones with the squared, tapered light covers. Then we went to the oval shaped one, and finally the LED. Light bars have come a long way for sure!
Man the last clip reminds me of a time when I had to drive off with some crackhead hanging onto my car.. he had good grip too I was probably doing about 40mph in the parking lot before he finally hit the ground & started rolling & that's with the door open coming back & hitting his hands a number of times along with me punching his hands while trying to frantically drive off. He was trying to rob me in the parking lot & didn't even have a weapon & I was in my car lol yeah good luck with that
We used to prosecute and punish criminals. Now we let them steal and vandalize and don't respond to 911 calls unless they're involving immediate danger. My wife's store was broken into twice recently in Aurora Colorado, and it took 7 hours before the police arrived for a report. Worthless. The windows were smashed in and the safe was stolen. Now they're blatantly telling us they will be taking messages for 911 calls in some cities because in cities like Pittsburgh, as little as 20 officers will be on duty. They say to take pictures of the crimes being committed so you have proof when they finally show up. This is what happens when America crumbles
Problem is the property developers that fund the City Council and Mayor's campaigns DEFINITELY don't want this on mainstream TV, so the powers that be will never give the go-ahead ever again. It's the same reason why you don't see COPS being filmed in Albuquerque, and why you don't see Live PD filmed in any major cities, just counties. Look up what the mayor of Albuquerque said about COPS in particular: "It makes my city look bad!" Lol
I watch these old cops for a few reasons, but mostly it’s the cars... that two wheel drive Yota is so beautiful
Hn.
Is it swiss
they still driving the same ones around lol

Officer Olivieri is actually the Chief of the Pomona Police Department now
Wow, He ain't retired yet, That's amazing. I bet Sargant Dale is probably retired, what about Officer Cox?

Around 10:50 someone farted 😂

He who smelt it
6:42, sounds like the siren on one of the LAPD units is broken.
It sounds crazy, but from 1989-92 the LAPD ford crown vics had this siren. It was even featured on the short lived "The new adam 12"
