Thx for the review but I am confused on why you mention 120fps in the beginning of the video…the sigma is capped at 15 so a real waste of the A9iii capability….much more suited for the original A9 if anything.
With focus points all over the image sensor these days why would you back button focus and recompose? Besides, the focus point that's directly over the subject will negate any lens field curvature and be more accurate than using the center of the lens to focus on a subject that is not in the center of the image.
Too bad it’s not a 600mm. The 500mm might be suitable for most types of photography, but it misses on the wildlife photographers because 500 is too short and there is no TC option.

Well, only some people have acces to Sigma 500 mm, so you know how it works... say anything, but nothing bad.
Something is not right with that global shutter. There is still rolling shutter effect visible at 5:08.

true but with sony you can hit the button and punch in to crop mode and get you about 600mm

It's a 5.6-6.3 actually and that's a Nikon lens not Sony
