I did enjoy the shift from purely announcing the heroes as the greatest highlight to also having trailers on the content, such as skins or lore.
You can also notice how they changed them introducing themselves as was up until Johanna.
The peak of the game was in 2018, where also most of the higher end trailers were made.
So much effort poured into designing a lovely game, just that not enough knew about its existence.
Unfortunately, I think HotS may have been released during the wrong time or just too late. LoL had already long since dominated the moba market. Couple that with the fact that HotS is a heavily, heavily team-dependent game, where you live or die with your team and even one person sandbagging can ruin the match for you, whereas from my understanding in LoL (I don't play it myself), a stand-out player can carry the entire match, and you have a situation where HotS just never really gets to get off the ground and start running.
It wouldn't be so bad, except the vast majority of the playerbase plays solo-queue (I think that's even the case in LoL? Could be wrong though), and typically QM, so the inability to carry games (I mean, unless you vastly, vastly outskill the entire enemy team, which... isn't impossible, but super, incredibly rare) means that playing is always a complete hit-or-miss in terms of match quality, with the unluckier players always getting hit with long strings of losses from terrible matches.
Had HotS been created before LoL took over the moba market, I think it would have stood a better chance. Would it have been more successful than LoL? Hard to say. The team-focus makes me say it's unlikely, even if I enjoy it way, way more than my very brief dip into LoL back before HotS even existed.

Their greed is out of control and it's on display for all to see, people are finally noticing how predatory and abusive Blizzard is and they've had enough. Stock value is down, staff are protesting and leaving the company (even the VP quit), user numbers for _ALL_ their games are dropping quickly and steadily... Pepople have finally had enough, they've learned that the Blizzard of their childhood is long dead and they're finding other games from better companies to play.
@@Thescott16 a little late, but the HotS team are almost the team that made (old) Warcraft 3. They know what the fans want, and won't give in.

All the key/most important figures have left Blizzard now.....Chris Metzen, Mike Morhaime, Frank Pearce, Rob Pardo....only the lead art designer Sam Didier is left....
And from everything that we hear from ex Blizzard employees, things are not good, far from it....just recently former Blizzard North founders (who originally created Diablo) said that its all about what makes most money now and thus pleasing the share holders rather than pleasing the gaming community.

as illustrated by the videos...they should focus their efforts on making a series featuring characters from different games fighting each other. would be much more successful than any silly arena game. as no gameplay would be able to match the spectacle of the videos. not ever.

You sure are projecting a very specific, laser-focused outlook onto Hope and it's legitimately sad that you think that way. Pessimistic much? You okay? Because hope is what gets me through the hard times when going through a rough season and just have to trudge on through, knowing that I'm working on getting to a better place. Not expecting someone else to do it for me, but knowing that things are just going to be hard for a while, but will get better in time after the rocky transition settles.
It’s so obvious that hanzo, d.va and genji are in some of the trailers. There are actually a lot of OW references here,like widow maker and junkrat. Blizzard made OW and this so it would be hard to not notice.

made a search...and that 'upgrade' of the QoB is a joke. what, is she scared of being cut? she went from enticing and terrifying to...laughable and forgettable. also, it appears clear where the nonsense 'happy go lucky' aspect of D3 came from. I pray to the High Ones that Diablo is forevermore allowed to keep it's DARKNESS. and that D3 is forgotten as the mistake it was.

That's a weird thing to call Nova. She's a what, class 10 psionic? She's the "think it and a city block dies" kind of powerful. She's equipped with tactical nukes. Lorewise, Arthas is strong, but I don't recall him ever doing anything on the scale of what ghosts do in Starcraft.

57:48-1:05:20 the game lost its identity when they tried to introduce manga/anime elements to attract people from League of Legends. They knew that kids these days prefer manga/style heroes than the ones from the Blizzard universe. IMO, Nexus characters like Orphea do not fit in the game (she kinda reminds me of Gaara from Naruto series). So pathetic, I wished they never did it, I would had prefer they have discontinued the game at that point.
