What a great find this is. 8 mins. and 16 secs. of Ozu is better than 90 mins. of most other directors. Very nice/suitable music too. Thanks for uploading this ^_^
The circle of American college pennants on the wall is the same prop used in the students' room in Ozu's "Days of Youth," his oldest surviving full film, also from 1929. Kind of fun to see now. This looks like it would have been a great film, sorry it's lost.

Loving the wall decor!! Great homage to a slapstick king!!
I feel privileged enough to be able to see even an excerpt of this film.
Thanks a ton, uploader!
Excellent. I've read about this "lost wonder". But the chance to see even this part is great.
What I find especially fascinating about this is that it shows Japan prior to WWII

Thank you so much. I would love a version with cue cards. (maybe in two parts?)
Did Ozu have a Benshi (narator) for most of his films do you know?
