    I come back to your videos every so often. It's been a multi-year process but my banjo is almost done. The skin is drying as I type this.

    Great videos. Your skinning sequence would have helped me a lot on my first gourdie. Being a cheapskate, I tried to make my own tuning pegs. I made a peg " shaver " by using the peg hole reamer to taper a hole in a block which was already split and clamped back together. I put sandpaper into the hole, and, voila! It didn't work very well. Almost impossible to tune the banjoke. Too bad because I enjoy playing it. Next time I'll . . .

      Thanks. I've made my own hand carved pegs in the past but they didn't work as well as I would have liked. My first tapered reamer was one that I made from 1/2 of a pair of scissors. It sort of worked until I decided to purchase the actual tools.
