I think Gary Morton had a background as a comic, think I read that somewhere. A stand-up, nightclub kind of comic. Believe he did okay at it but not sensational. He & Lucy probably met at one of these clubs where he was performing, perhaps there was audience-participation or something on occasion. Not sure what the attraction was, aside from both having comedy backgrounds. Morton may've seen Lucy as a meal ticket at first but in time developed a real affection. She may've seen him as understanding what she'd been through with Desi, a good listener, a more stable personality, who's ego could be kept in check---and perhaps Lucy sensed he'd be faithful or at least dependable. I'm only guessing but show business makes for some unpredictable bedfellows!
@@taylorcimone6384 In plain words? That he wasn't to her level. She could have picked anyone, better than him in all aspects. Unfortunately, her mom told her she should not let him get away. I'm guessing Lucie was right. Lucy married Gary because she knew that otherwise, she'd go back to Desi since she loved him so much. I say, since she married Gary, it all went down the hill.
@@HenPapirman i don't quite agree. Gary was better for Lucy personally than professionally. Yet don't think she would've continued as long as she did w/o him. Still it was Desi who was brilliant professionally, yet had his issues such as other women, gambling & alcoholism.

Who's Was Fliming This?
I don't know but if I had to guess that could be the director of "Here's Lucy". I'm glad someone did.
Gary comes off as being annoying here.
Bob Hope was right about Gary.
How so?
