7500 Liters, plus room for storage bladders if we need more reach. So we technically could cross the Pacific if we were to add some optional storage for the crossing. We made it quite easily across the ditch from Brizzy to New Zealand with weeks of cruising before refueling. Our range depends on how fast we travel and sea conditions. We’re pretty doggone happy maximizing mileage usually cruising around 8 -10 knots. We lose a lot of efficiency when we need to race somewhere at 20 knots, but we can do it if we must. As with any motor cat, range is entirely dependent on conditions and cruising speed, so one person’s economy is another’s luxury! You either save/spend time or fuel. We are old school sailors, so we try to save fuel and just enjoy our time cruising.
I started following his channel on RUclips because he was building a long range efficient cruising cat. I let him know we were looking for a boat that was ready now (although I do appreciate his patience in building his boat, we just didn't have the time.) After many online and What's App conversations we finally met up with Russ and Margy at the Sydney boat show in 2022, where we also met the Iliad crew and Sol Searcher!
@@solsearchercat very cool. It took him a while to get it built due to c-vid but it came out super nice. Perhaps you guys will meet up on the water some day and have some fun cruising together.
