You are AWESOME!! Wow!! Love watching you in action and the results are amazing!! You make it look easy!! Keep on keeping on!! Love it!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
oh gosh thanks its just alot of practive and many many attempts and fails so never stop trying. i literraly carve all day .. then research art and spend my nights editing .. then while balancing my personal life too but i try to always improve and u can too .. keep ripping ,,,,,YEW !!
You're SO AWESOME! I love how encouraging & supportive of other people you are! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I learn something from every video and it's making it so much easier for me to think, Hell yes I can do it too! And to just give it a shot! Thanks for being so awesome!🙏🙏🙏💞💞💞
I've wanted to do some slab carves like this. I love how the heron came out, it's beautiful.🤩 I only recently found a place where I can get slabs, as my saw is a bit small for cutting my own. Any tips you have on carving slabs would be great, like anything about the grain of the wood, and what to know or look for and even if there is a better side to carve your details into? Appreciate all you share! 🙏😊
I love how you make the carvings pop out so fast and clean, of course you still have some over cut marks at that point. Also have to add, that they’re beautiful before you’re even close to done.
thanks bud well noted .. and actually unless it is a comp piece i make sure to leave a over cut/ the look of a saw cut especially on the big dollar ones that dont really call for it because i like to leave the mark of the saw and remind people that this was made by a chainsaw saw and handmade that's just something i like to do
@@RyanCookCarvin I totally get that, and I’m sure you mentioned it in a past video. Ryan, you are by far my favorite “Master” Chainsaw Carver, and you yourself as you are, makes your videos Awesome!!! Keep sharing, and I’ll keep watching and learning. Thank God for you, and your talent!🙌🏽✝️🙏🏽👍🏽✌🏽
I use a Dewalt rotary sander, 5” disc, for the rough sand/ shaping, it is amazing. Less than $100, has been flawless for many years and a pack of like 50 40 grid lasts super long time😎😎
You absolutely blow me away every time you carve something! You truly are the master!! How do like the battery Makita finger sander compared to the corded one? Thanks buddy!!!
Awesome! one question, where do I get a mask and eye protection like yours, where I work they don't even use a mask, I try to, but my glasses get all foggy
Hey, Ryan, I have a question. Do you have any videos where you teach on proper body mechanics for carving? People don't talk much about it, but if you do this sort of thing all day on repeat, it can be hard on your body, so I was wondering if there's anything you've learned about it over the years that has been helpful for you.
its been broken and im waiting for echo to send me a new starter coil and its back ordered cause of the demand for those saws .. im missing it big time
@@RyanCookCarvin ,Ahhhh ~ I'm about to snag one, a bit pricey for a 25 cc saw but the weight and slim profile has me interested and my Stihl 192 is beat after 14 years. I'll check with the dealer and have him stock the coil asap. Thanks for the reply. Watching your massive raven build ~ come together right nice.
Ryan Cook is there any type of carving you can't do !? 🤣 Your amazing I know we all tell you that but it's true Your always using different finishing off methods which gives us ideas Thanks for another great video Cheers
Hey Ryan. Fantastic work. What type/size chain are you using with it? I've got a ms170 Stihl on a 12" bar. Just seems the cuts don't seem to cut as well, even with a new chain. Am I doing something wrong, chain needs to be tighter/looser?
I AM USING CANNON DIME TIP BAR. I run my chain loose so it doesn't blow out the tip of the bar and can do a little more exttreme bar bending in the wood .. u dont have to do it as loose as i do till you're comfortable i do what i think is best for me but i do recommend u don't do it to tight cause that will burn out any carving bar tip
@@RyanCookCarvin Does the quality of the bar effect how well it cuts or is it more down to having a quality chain..I have Stihl chain on mine, but the bar isn't a big make. Would getting a better make bar help with the cut? Thanks Ryan
I know the bark apparently does eventually fall off, however, does this happen when set with an oil finish? I find it a shame to remove it sometimes, it gives a rustic side, right?! 😬
