I've watched quite a few reaction videos but this one really moved me. Felt like I was truly on this journey with you, and even though I've heard these songs so many times it felt like the first time once again. This album truly is a masterpiece. Thank you for the great reaction video.
Yeah, I find myself returning to this album so often. If you're stressed out or just feeling chaotic and need something smooth to chill out to, this is the one, starting with those first few notes of "Survival." Definitely not her "best" album IMO but Top 5 for me and totally underrated.
I remember someone calling this her "morning after album" where everything in 'erotica' happened at night and this is the morning after where she wakes up in her bed alone and reflects on her life/love, her "bedtime stories".
Loved your reactions to Secret and Human Nature - "it's like a sexy, sensual f/u song" - yes, exactly! And yes, the Sanctuary/Bedtime Story combo is very trippy/time altering
I think "Sanctuary" is one of Madonna's most underrated songs. The "Surely, whoever speaks to me in the right voice, him or her I shall follow, like the water follows the moon, silently, with fluid steps, around the globe" bit is an exert from a poem by Walt Whitman called "Voices", and I think those are some of the most beautiful words I've ever heard. And the music is just, like you said, ethereal. I love listening to Sanctuary while staring up at the stars (and maybe smoking joint). Madonna's three 90s albums (Erotica, Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light) are my top three Madonna albums. I enjoy all her albums, but those three alone are enough for me to say she's a musical genius and, despite her massive fame, I really don't think she gets enough credit as a truly talented songwriter AND music producer.
Fact about the songs: - ''Survival'' was about herself and her feeling during the ''Erotica'' era - ''Secret'' was originally conceived has a house track with Shep Pettibone and most of the lyrics of this song was wrote while she was with Shep. After he ending her collboration with Shep, he and Dallas re-arranging this song in a mid-tempo RnB track that everybody know in the album. - ''Inside of Me'' was about her feeling to lost her mother, this was the sequel of ''Promise to Try''. - ''Human Nature'' was her answer of her backclash of the Sex book and the ''Erotica'' era. - ''Sanctuary'' and the title track was the songs who she adventured in the first time in the electronic music (trip-hop/electronic in ''Sanctuary'' and electro and techno for the title-track) and who she using a lot of the ''Ray of Light'' album. -''Take a Bow'' was written and recording with a whole orchestra. When she wrote that song, she wanted to sound like a orchestras song and this was made the song in the album. Babyface, know to work a lot with Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston, produced that song. This was his first time who he work with a orchestras. The orchestras was what adding some subtiles japanese influences. This was a big hit for her, and one of her most successful ballads of her catalogue.
Bjork indeed wrote Bedtime Story. Love the song and trippy video. I love the singles from this album need to listen to the others more. Take A Bow top five Madonna for me. Her and Babyface's voices together. Like butter.
That live vocal performance she does with Babyface at the Billboard music awards is incredible! You can tell by her first couple of lines that she is nervous because it's such a difficult song vocally to perform but when she relaxes into it and let's Babyface support her it becomes one of her best ever vocals/performance. ❤️❤️🌈🌈😍😍🤩🤩🥇🥇🎵🎵🎶🎶🎸🎸🙌🙌🔥🔥🏳️🌈🏳️🌈❤️❤️ Then of course that brilliant Bed time story performance at the Brits with that hair!!!!!! ❤️❤️🌈🌈🔥🔥🙌🙌🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎸🎸🥇🥇🤩🤩🤩🏳️🌈🏳️🌈❤️❤️
That album was a smart mix of her unapologetic attitude (she needed that attitude at that moment because of the huge Erotica backlash) with good quality music (she also needed to secure her artistic credibility). She went for talented RnB producers and surfed the 90s trend really well
I remember going the day this was released and skipping school. Remember back then you had no leaks or any idea what to expect. So in I walked to this massive display on an entire wall at the record store and walked right by her because I didn’t even know it was her on the cover. Looked like a vampire lol 😂. As for the album I liked a few songs but was basically hugely disappointed. Thought it was basically crap because I wanted dance/erotica Madonna. Anyway as the years have gone on I would say it’s her 2nd best album. Sometimes things take time (ps the videos from this era are STUNNING and still look fresh to this day, worth watching)
I love this hahaha a vampire! And totally, I think it's a very hard album to follow Erotica if you LOVED that a lot! But love that you fell in love with it over time! 💙

39:37 cool that you said "I can't explain how I feel" at the end there. It matches the Bedtime Story lyric, "How could they explain how I feel" - such hypnotic goodness
Take a Bow was her longest running number one of her career (in USA). I love this album so much more years later than I dis at the time. It’s pretty close to perfect.
I will just repeat what so many on here have already expressed. It is wonderful to see someone beginning to understand what a treasure Madonna was and is still today!! There will never be another artist quite like her. She pushed so many norms and broke through so many barriers with her intellect, music and videos. You can also see why we are so protective of her….no matter what she does🔥🔥🔥
Surprisingly inside of me is about her mother who passed away, but it can be interpreted in many other ways… NEways, this is one of my favorite albums of all time along with “Ray of Light” (her most critically acclaimed and awarded album). Honestly all of Madonnas music ages like wine and progressively gets better as she re-invents herself and her sound, so happy to see you go through this journey!
@@Anthony-pm2tb I think Madame X was somewhat a return to form. It is experimental and not every song works, but there is more quality there than anything on MDNA and Rebel Heart combined.
"Inside of Me" is great because it can be interpreted however you want. Finding out that it was about her mother (which I'm sure I found out fairly quickly after it was released - how we find these things out back then?! haha) definitely make me appreciate the song more since it's not my favorite sonically or vocally. But even vocally, when you know she's singing to her mother the "little girl" voice makes so much more sense. She's so underrated as a singer/songwriter. Just brilliant.
I discovered this album last year thanks to a good friend of mine and it completely changed my life and taught me so much about being a trans woman in my 30's. As you said, I felt like I knew Madonna, like if she was my friend or a mother figure to me. Sanctuary is such an interesting turning point in the album, almost like time traveling into a different period of history. So happy to see you enjoy this, the Bedtime Story video is gonna blow your mind.
beautifully written. Putting this album on always calms me down and makes me feel good. It's amazing it helped you in your life as well. It truly is timeless and a masterpiece.
So happy you vibed with this. I think it's one of her most underrated albums. Regarding your reaction to "Secret" - it saved my life. Imagine being 15, closeted and alone and having watched Madonna be torn apart for Erotica/Sex for two years and then she drops "Secret" as the first single from her new album. 💓 I agree that "I'd Rather Be Your Lover" is one of the weakest songs, but I do think "Don't Stop" is a nice fun lighthearted bop that the album really needs to balance out all of the sadness and anger. I love the B-side "Let Down Your Guard" - that would have been an interesting substitute for IRBYL. Anyway, the videos are great for this era. And can't wait for you to do "You'll See" and "I Want You" from her ballads collection in 1995.
For me, as a closeted 12 year old, Human Nature saved my life. This was the year Madonna took her grip on me and I have never looked back. Madonna literally saved my life. Will you be seeing her on the Celebration Tour? I hope you get to!
@@Peterrdee Yeah "Take a Bow" was a huge hit in the U.S. but it's often eclipsed by her big 80s albums and then Ray of Light and Confessions on a Dance Floor. Her 90s stuff is really forgotten by the general public.
been waiting so long for u to hear this one. Happy u liked it so much including the masterpiece that is Sanctuary, and it’s transition into Bedtime Story
Such a fucking great reaction. So happy you got so into this severely underrated album. Your reaction reminded me why I love this album so much. When it came out it was a slow grower with me. But it is a mesmerising, beautifully put together and absolute timeless masterpiece. What a class act. The vibe of this entire album is beyond magical. It feels weightless, like the laws of gravity don't apply here. It's seductive and vulnerable and melancholy and creates an intoxicating universe of its own. "Let's get unconscious honey...". Bedtime Stories is an evocative and perfect title for this album. BTW Take a Bow was number one on the Billboard Chart for 7 weeks! And the video to that song is an absolute brilliant masterpiece. And Secret's music video is phenomenal as well. And wait till you see the video for Human Nature! Love how you have just fallen in love with her going through this journey. Your face says it all. What an artist-she is one of a kind and a true pioneer. Will never be another Madonna. How can she keep upping the game? Don't know either but she just does. Can't wait for the next chapters. J
the album cover is upside down on streaming services, the album was first released with her laying down looking upwards but people decided it was somewhat confusing and turned the picture upside down to what it is now the official version
This has been an AMAZING MaJourney!!!! I can not believe HOW MUCH you've come to actually GET MADONNA, in such a short period of time. It is like you have actually LIVED almost 15 years in one!! (You even get the mmmmmsss) UNBELIEVABLE!!!! At one point during this reaction, you practically described one of the videos off of this album. To keep you in suspense, I'm not going to say what video it is, or in what part of your reaction it happened, but it happened. GREAT REACTION as always, and I'll be looking forward to the next. #ExpressYourselfDontRepressYourSelf
THIS IS THE BEST COMMENT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I literally feel like I have lived the 15 years too! The impact and affect she has is like no other! Especially when I get to read yours and everyone else's comments too who have lived through it! 💙
I remember going to HMV asking them to grab me this album from the back. It was my first Madonna album I listened to back to front. Probably in my top 3. Truly under appreciated album from a legendary artist
WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR BEDTIME STORY! It's the 2nd most expensive music video ever produced and will align perfectly with how you said the song made you feel. It cost $5M to make back then which is close to $9M now. The dance mixes of Bedtime Story are also amazing! The singles off the album were Secret, Human Nature, Bedtime Story and Take A Bow. The album went to No 1 in Australia (her 5th No 1 album) and No 2 in the US. Take A Bow spent 7 weeks at No 1 in the US. She was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Album and it sold about 8M copies worldwide. So, even after all of the controversy of Erotica, this album still did pretty well. I remember watching an interview where she said she wanted Bedtime Stories to be an album that reminded everyone of her talent minus the controversy. This is considered Madonna's R&B/dubstep/pop album. I love listening to this album at night in complete darkness.
This is literally one of her most underrated and forgotten albums and all 4 of the music videos are probably her most polished of her entire career. The videos fit the vibe of the tracks so perfectly. The video for take a bow is like a piece of cinema - incredibly shot and directed (it also has a sequel with a non album track “You’ll see” which is probably her greatest ballad). The video for Bedtime Story takes you into that ethereal world - you will never believe it was shot in 1994. Human Nature and Secret are also perfect videos too. Imo, this was her last era of a perfect run of music videos. I’d Rather Be Your Lover was originally featuring Tupac. Sadly, she wasn’t able to tour this album so many of the songs have never been performed.
The rap (and bass playing) on I’d rather be your lover is by a woman not a dude. Openly bisexual artist Me’shell N’degeocello. Amazing artist in her own right and signed to Madonna’s Maverick label.
This video made me so happy. Bedtime Stories is my #1, absolute favorite Madonna album. To this day I’ve never heard anything as beautiful as Madonna’s vocals thru out this album. She does more with her voice than any other singer I’ve heard. She doesn’t only change her musical and writing style from album to album, she also changes her vocals. Always finding new ways to use her voice. I’m looking forward to watching you react to the four music videos from this album. It’s also my favorite set of videos from her. And I may or may not have screen shot that edit of you jumping into bed in your underwear.
I remember running to my mum’s work to ask for the money to go and buy this album (on cassette😅) Secret is one of my all time faves!!❤ This album is a masterpiece in my opinion and didn’t get the credit it deserved… peeps were still on the “I hate Madonna” bandwagon following the Erotica/Sex book/Body of Evidence era. She was supposed to tour this album and then the role of Eva Peron came up which she’d wanted for ages so cancelled the tour. She sent the video for Take A Bow to the director to get the audition! YES Madonna had to audition 😂The B-Side to the single Secret “Let Down Your Guard” should have been on the album 100% Love that you were vibing this album ❤
Human Nature is a huge high point in her career in my opinion, its a shame its forgotten. It was a top 10 single here in the UK, and the video is ICONIC
Loved your reaction to this. Agreed with all your statements. Secret, Human Nature, Sanctuary, Bedtime Stories and Take a Bow are so perfect. Amazing album. Incredible artist. ❤
Glad you love this. Most fans love 80s Madonna the most but I think 90s Madonna is by far her greatest decade. Opening the 90s with Vogue and transitioning to the masterpieces of Erotica, Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light is truly a wild ride through pop music perfection
G'day it's Steven here again Thanks you for taking me down memory lane, this album was released around the time our first child was born, interestingly Take a Bow was the song that when our baby girl would hear it she'd she'd pay close attention to it and also when she would cry as babies do we'd play it and little Marie would stop crying. I'd forgotten how special this album is and I highly recommended that you watch the music videos too. All hail the Queen of Pop!
Yup… exactly. Once M dropped Erotica, her true artistic peak started. There were glimmers of what was to come on True Blue and Like a Prayer, but Erotica up until Ray of Light are some of her best, most cohesive albums. People who discover Bedtime Stories are often stunned this wasn’t among her top selling albums. It did well, but Erotica really polarized her and it took a while for her to gain mainstream acceptance again. So stupid. A lot of people missed out on some of her absolute best work.
love this album, showcases a very smooth r&b sound, the production is flawless, nellee hooper produced sanctuary, survival and bedtime stories, he produced on björks debut and post, björk wrote the title track as madonna wanted to experiment with her sound, also babyface produced take a bow, he’s produced so many iconic 90s r&b songs this is one of my faves of hers not top 5 though but close probably number 6 haha, as much as i love her more eclectic albums as usual blended genres, i love how densley produced and cohesive it is, it works well together more then tracks alone
In "Love tried to welcome me" she makes a reference to her favorite book "The heart is a lonely hunter" by author Carson McCullers. She also refers to that book in the video for "Crave" where she writes "the heart is a lonely hunter" in a papel and ties it to a pigeon. And in "Take a Bow" she makes a reference to Shakespeare quoting "all the world is a stage and everyone has their part" from his dramatic play "As you like it".
This is the first Madonna album that I really connected to in a deep way, though I loved her before. And it's still my favorite of her albums. I was surprised later on to learn it was not very much appreciated, because I think it features her most beautiful vocals and lyrics, and some gorgeous melodies and arrangements. Maybe it's because many fans held on to the Erotica era's edginess as some sort of paragon of excellence, but I think edginess is way overrated. I prefer beauty.
I keep forgetting he started with ROL, right? So I guess the next "big" one is Confessions. The rest make me nervous for how he'll react. Lots of wild cards. 😅
0:04 Hey now, Ben shouts and he packs. Welcome to Down Under, indeed. Love this album. Madonna was smart to recalculate after Erotica in search of a new look and sound. She pivoted to R&B which was the dominant genre at the time. Mariah, Whitney, Toni Braxton, Brandy, Boyz II Men, and TLC had found massive success with Babyface and Dallas Austin, so Madonna teamed up with them as well. It worked. Take A Bow remains Madonna's longest running #1 hit in the US. After moving on from Shep Pettibone's House-infused sound that formed the backbone of Erotica, Madonna worked with many of the same producers of Bjork's albums Debut (1993) and Post (1995) to get that fresh 90s trip hop and electronica sound for parts of Bedtime Stories. Bjork's Homogenic album and the continued rise of electronic music would later influence Madonna's hit comeback album, Ray of Light.
I love the videos from this era...another new and vibey Madonna! This is another element to her genius. Of course, my four favorites tracks are Take a Bow, Secret, Human Nature, Bedtimes Story, and the other songs you rated I agree with. I like this album even better than I used to and the production level is excellent and stands up to the test of time. The entire album has that 90s R&B sound but it still is timeless. FYI, there is a sequel song and video to Take a Bow that is superb! Can't wait till you review the sequel video and song You'll See!
i love your Madonna reviews, so honest and open, and Bedtime stories was a great album, that no one was expecting her to do. it was like a chill out album. i also love how your emotions react to the song, another great album review thank you x
I was a high school student when this album came out. I remember not connecting to this the way I hoped I would. The album felt too mellow and lacked that hit potential I was hoping for it to have. However today this album is absolutely one of her best ones. I feel Bedtime Stories needs the listener to have a bit of life experience to be able to connect to it. Bedtime Stories is so well put together and the production choices have stood the test of time. It just brings you a warm feeling. It was fall when she released this and I’ve always felt the album is a fall season album. And at its best when listened at night time. Once again such a great reaction and was so lovely to see you get the album and really connecting to it. Thank you.
'Until I learned to love myself I was never ever loving anybody elseeee " perfect !! secret means so much to me , known it since I was a baby xx love it forever !! human nature is still one of my fav songs too omg so sexy the music video is everything !! Bed time story was another fav , thet video and song hypnotised me as a kid !! xx Edit: can't even deal with how much you loves Human Nature !!!!! beaming !!
Also I wrote about how bedtime story used to hypmotisenme before I even saw you saying it on the video hahah x I so hope you watch the music videos .. especially to bedtime stories and human nature x
Omg Human Nature is literally one of the best diss tracks EVER. Like OMGGGGGG! And yes to us being hypnotised hahahaha! I'm so keen for the videos omg!! AND I'm so glad you've listened to these albums to be able to watch and let me know what was going on for you when they were out!!!
"I'd Rather Be Your Lover" originally featured 2pac, who Madonna dated at the time, and that version is on RUclips and I highly recommend listening to it. It's much better than the album version, and it makes much more sense
Hello, in this album Madonna works with baby face who will work with her for the first part of Ray of Light but it was eventually changed with William Orbit (there are many very nice demos). In more '2pac I realize the song I just want to be your lover where there are 2 demos one completely different from the one published the other as the published version but with his rap
This was the first Madonna album I ever fully listened to. I remember her performing Human Nature on the Sticky and Sweet Tour with Britney Spears and me being a big Britney fan I had to check it out, even though I didn’t know the song. So I looked it up listened to the entire album and was immediately hooked. I still think of it very highly and it definitely is underrated, but currently I have more affinity towards the other album Madonna released in the 90’s and early 00’s, but this one definitely deserves more recognition…
I’ve loved joining you on your Madonna journey and, in my opinion, you’ve hit the sweet spot of Madonna’s career from this point. I’ve never really been a fan of Madonna’s music from the 80’s (apart from a few songs). The 90’s is when she became an album artist, where each album has its own very cohesive vibe. This is where the production became just as important as the vocals, and I love that. In my opinion, the next four albums (Ray of Light, Music, American Life, and Confessions on a Dancefloor) are Madonna at the very peak of her career and I can’t wait to see you experience them ✨ Also, I know you actually started with Ray of Light but, now that you’ve reached this point, would you consider revisiting it in another video…? I guess you will for the music videos etc but I’d really like to hear your thoughts after working your way through all the eras…?
Totally agree! AND what an idea! I think I will, once this era is officially done with, I think I will revise ROL before rolling into the era to see how it all flows! Thank you!!!
I love what you had to say about "Inside of Me". I always felt like they should have released that song as a single. I think it's beautiful. It's actually about her mother.
I remember having 13 at the time this album came out and asked to get it (btw, love the cover art too). When I first listened to "Secret" on the radio i was absolutely amazed how this sounds so good, same for Human Nature, that video shocked me by the fact I was a kid but omg the song is iconique so the whole Bed Time Stories Era. To me, this is my favorite album of hers. Idk why I always thought Björk was involed into the BTS track.
This album is so soothing. I think i like the second half even better than the first. It sounds so pleasing. I know it went 3x Platinum and gave her a huge #1 single and another top 3 but i still feel its underrated between her most famous albums like Erotica and Ray Of Light.
Benn: ‘I can’t get into long songs, it disrupts my vibe. You know to repetitive…… moments later Madonna: I have a ‘Secret’ for you. Moments later Benn: That’s a 5 min song I don’t know why Im crying I can listen this my entire life.❤❤❤❤
This album was never high ranking for me but I have come appreciate its cohesion, the song placement, and the fact that “sing Lottie Dottie” was meant to be sarcastic. Interesting fact : “take a bow “ is madonnas second or third biggest hit of all time. Crazy to think it rivals “Vogue” in terms of sales; doesn’t even seem like the same artist.
Take a bow is one of her biggest hits only in the US. It wasnt very big else where. Sales wise its not 3ven close to LAP, Vogue, Music, Hung Up and 4 Minutes most which were number ones all over the world not just in the US
Very underrated album imo, i don't why though it's very good. I like how quintessence 90s Rnb it is. Also Bedtime story(the song) is quite a risky move from a huge artist like Madonna, she was fearless at the time always pushing the enveloppe.
The official album cover features a photo of Madonna upside down in the bed. But that was so confusing to people that they flipped the photo in further pressings.
The start of the song Don’t Stop and all the way through the song it reminded me of Erotica. weird that. Never ever really delved into the music break down of the songs since i’ve had the album since 1994 when it came out.
It has become among her very best. It’s strange how some music ages with amazing depth and breadth. This is a perfect example of that…Madonna truly has had an incredible ability to create songs that are timeless and yet so evocative of their era. While 90s RnB and West Coast hip-hop leave their mark across this record, it’s quintessentially Madonna throughout. Most people are oblivious to the mastery that Madonna holds as a studio singer. She uses her voice with such instinct and honesty. There’s a melancholy and occasional deep sadness throughout this album, but then there is an almost mystical quality that paves the way to Ray Of Light. Madonna always takes the listener from sadness to hopefulness, darkness to light, redemption to salvation. That’s her modus operandi, and possibly why her music is so cathartic and can seem truly transcendental at times. You can sense her vision in her 90s projects. They feel calculated yet completely authentic. Thanks for a great shared experience! This was a joy to watch as always.
I've watched quite a few reaction videos but this one really moved me. Felt like I was truly on this journey with you, and even though I've heard these songs so many times it felt like the first time once again. This album truly is a masterpiece. Thank you for the great reaction video.
Omg, what a compliment, thank you so much! 💙
Her most underrated album. The whole thing is a vibe. No skips.
It's so cohesive. You really can put the album on and leave it playing while you clean the house, etc.
Literally have had it on repeat for hours doing an assignment hehe

Yes, so we'll put. Morning after "Erotica". Love it.
Omg yes, I love this so much!!
In the 80s Madonna had great singles, in the 90s she had great albums. Her best decade IMO
YES!
I’ve noticed how many Madonna reactors get mesmerized by her when she does her signature humming!
It's SO ADDICTIVE OMG
It's my favorite album of hers. Cohesive, chic, refined. For me, it's a masterpiece.

I agree, she definitely doesn't get enough credit for songwriting and producing!
That was something I didnt know! Thanksss =)
Fact about the songs:
- ''Survival'' was about herself and her feeling during the ''Erotica'' era
- ''Secret'' was originally conceived has a house track with Shep Pettibone and most of the lyrics of this song was wrote while she was with Shep.
❤️❤️🌈🌈😍😍🤩🤩🥇🥇🎵🎵🎶🎶🎸🎸🙌🙌🔥🔥🏳️🌈🏳️🌈❤️❤️
Then of course that brilliant Bed time story performance at the Brits with that hair!!!!!! ❤️❤️🌈🌈🔥🔥🙌🙌🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎸🎸🥇🥇🤩🤩🤩🏳️🌈🏳️🌈❤️❤️
"bedtime story" was written by nellee hooper, björk guðmundsdóttir, & marius de vries and produced by nellee hooper & madonna
That album was a smart mix of her unapologetic attitude (she needed that attitude at that moment because of the huge Erotica backlash) with good quality music (she also needed to secure her artistic credibility). She went for talented RnB producers and surfed the 90s trend really well

LITERALY PERFECT
Bedtime Stories is such an iconic Madonna record. Very underrated. Love Tried to Welcome Me- some of her best and most personal songwriting
her best album imo
I think you’re right!
My favorite album. Of all time.
It’s so good tbh! I absolutely love this album
You are right
If you liked this album, you should get into Janet Jackson's music. Especially Janet. and The Velvet Rope if you liked this sound!
Except MDNA. Lol
@@graphiquejack right, mdna and everything after that 😭
@@Anthony-pm2tb Like a Prayer is her most critically acclaimed album, actually. Ray of Light is her most acclaimed album with the fans.
I love this so much! I love that she can be there for us so longer after the release!
beautifully written. Putting this album on always calms me down and makes me feel good. It's amazing it helped you in your life as well. It truly is timeless and a masterpiece.
@@Marc-zi5cq thank you, yes it's such a lovely feeling 🌹
Omg I love that she was there for you 🥹 This comment made me so happy!!
Underrated? Didn’t she perform at the Grammys tho? And the songs went to #1?
@@Peterrdee Yeah "Take a Bow" was a huge hit in the U.S. but it's often eclipsed by her big 80s albums and then Ray of Light and Confessions on a Dance Floor. Her 90s stuff is really forgotten by the general public.
been waiting so long for u to hear this one. Happy u liked it so much including the masterpiece that is Sanctuary, and it’s transition into Bedtime Story
Yesssss
Aww, this makes me so happy, THANK YOU!
the album cover is upside down on streaming services, the album was first released with her laying down looking upwards but people decided it was somewhat confusing and turned the picture upside down to what it is now the official version
So annoying :(
This has been an AMAZING MaJourney!!!!
Aww, so cute I love it!!
this album smells like baby powder 🥰
M makes history even when nobody sees 👑
I cannot WAIT!!! And she did exactly what she set out to do imo!
Dubstep? 🤔😆
Her live Performance at the Brit Awards. Her best Performance. Simple and Perfect
Ohh, thank you!
I wish she was credited cuz I never knew it was a girl.
@soaribb32 Me'shell is credited in the album notes. Under the songs lyrics is says Bass and In your face by Me'shell...❤❤
Love tried to welcome me ❤.
Totally ! Right ?! 😢😊
This record is sublime. Just as good as Erotica.
They're sister albums in a way...
Aww, I'm glad! Cannot wait for the videos too!
HAHAHAHAH, cheeky!!!
Her best album overall it’s a masterpiece
Omg haha, love that she sent her video as her audition! Totally agree, SO underrated omg.
lovely reaction to a wonderful album, and my god you are stunning x
Aww, thank you!!!
@@bennshouts my pleasure my friend, keep up the Madonna journey xx
love from the UK
90s Madonna is the best! Pure perfection: Erotica, Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light ✨✨✨
Human Nature is a huge high point in her career in my opinion, its a shame its forgotten. It was a top 10 single here in the UK, and the video is ICONIC
Cannot wait to see it!!
Loved your reaction to this. Agreed with all your statements. Secret, Human Nature, Sanctuary, Bedtime Stories and Take a Bow are so perfect. Amazing album. Incredible artist. ❤
Thank youuuuu xx
Glad you love this. Most fans love 80s Madonna the most but I think 90s Madonna is by far her greatest decade. Opening the 90s with Vogue and transitioning to the masterpieces of Erotica, Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light is truly a wild ride through pop music perfection
100% I am a 90's fan for sure! Some incredible songs in the 80's, but these are all SOLID ALBUMS!
G'day it's Steven here again
Thanks you for taking me down memory lane, this album was released around the time our first child was born, interestingly Take a Bow was the song that when our baby girl would hear it she'd she'd pay close attention to it and also when she would cry as babies do we'd play it and little Marie would stop crying.
I'd forgotten how special this album is and I highly recommended that you watch the music videos too.
All hail the Queen of Pop!
Aww I love that little Marie would get comforted by Take a Bow! So beautiful!
Truly!!!
love this album, showcases a very smooth r&b sound, the production is flawless, nellee hooper produced sanctuary, survival and bedtime stories, he produced on björks debut and post, björk wrote the title track as madonna wanted to experiment with her sound, also babyface produced take a bow, he’s produced so many iconic 90s r&b songs
this is one of my faves of hers not top 5 though but close probably number 6 haha, as much as i love her more eclectic albums as usual blended genres, i love how densley produced and cohesive it is, it works well together more then tracks alone
Omg not even top 5, I am so keen to hear what else she has, because I think this is my favourite album so far!!
Fun fact: Björk wrote the song Bedtime Story
@Victoria why so aggressive and rude?
In "Love tried to welcome me" she makes a reference to her favorite book "The heart is a lonely hunter" by author Carson McCullers. She also refers to that book in the video for "Crave" where she writes "the heart is a lonely hunter" in a papel and ties it to a pigeon.
And in "Take a Bow" she makes a reference to Shakespeare quoting "all the world is a stage and everyone has their part" from his dramatic play "As you like it".
Madonna gives the best "Mmmmmm mmmmms" in songs. Love this album. It's so chill and beautiful.
She really does!
I've watched that jump on the bed in slow motion over and over again.
Thirsty. 🤣🤣
omg hahaha
BtS is my Sanctuary. Best album ever! Soooo underrated!
Yeah this was her absolute best she found that sound infused with the production so perfectly, her voice .. the vibe!
An absolute gem this is.
Totally agree!
I talk to your Madonna videos so much. I can’t wait for Ray of Light.
I actually reacted to that album FIRST, it's on my channel
This is my best Madonna album. Ray of light is close, then Madame x. You are going to loooove confessions on a dancefloor
KEEN!!!
I keep forgetting he started with ROL, right? So I guess the next "big" one is Confessions. The rest make me nervous for how he'll react. Lots of wild cards. 😅
Erotica WHO, YES!!! Hoping the Bedtime Stories "Era" MVs video
Yesss, coming soon x
George Michael's album "Older" has the same vibes!!!
One of my favorite Madonna albums.
This is the Madonna album I grew up and the most familiar with...❤
My favorite Madonna album. One of the producers is Babyface, also Madonna worked with Icelandic singer Björk on the track “Bedtime Story”.
Secret, bed times stories, human nature are some of my fave madonna songs- 90s and early 2000's madonna is EPIC!
HAHAHA, welcome to down under, DEAD
Thank you.
Thank YOU so much for watching and commenting! Totally agree with everything you've said!
My fav❤ love tried to welcome me is a masterpiece 🙏🏻
It's about time we got the music album reaction? This has been a very long wait 😂
'Until I learned to love myself I was never ever loving anybody elseeee " perfect !! secret means so much to me , known it since I was a baby xx love it forever !! human nature is still one of my fav songs too omg so sexy the music video is everything !! Bed time story was another fav , thet video and song hypnotised me as a kid !! xx Edit: can't even deal with how much you loves Human Nature !!!!! beaming !!
Also I wrote about how bedtime story used to hypmotisenme before I even saw you saying it on the video hahah x
I so hope you watch the music videos .. especially to bedtime stories and human nature x
My fav album by her!!!
love I'd Rather Be Your Lover
"I'd Rather Be Your Lover" originally featured 2pac, who Madonna dated at the time, and that version is on RUclips and I highly recommend listening to it. It's much better than the album version, and it makes much more sense
OHHHHHHHHH!
I can't wait for your reaction to Kylie's new song Padam padam ❤️
haha Benny you are gonna LUURRRVVEE the videos from this era!
IM SO KEEN HAHA
I was waiting for this reaction! Forever one of my top five albums from any artist. Loved seeing how much you enjoyed it
Eee, thank you!!!
Bedtime Story is my fave madonna song everrrrr.
In my opinion, the next four albums (Ray of Light, Music, American Life, and Confessions on a Dancefloor) are Madonna at the very peak of her career and I can’t wait to see you experience them ✨
Also, I know you actually started with Ray of Light but, now that you’ve reached this point, would you consider revisiting it in another video…? I guess you will for the music videos etc but I’d really like to hear your thoughts after working your way through all the eras…?
Totally agree! AND what an idea! I think I will, once this era is officially done with, I think I will revise ROL before rolling into the era to see how it all flows! Thank you!!!
“Inside of Me” is about her dead mother. But lyrics were amended to make them open for interpretation, that could be about a lover.
I love what you had to say about "Inside of Me". I always felt like they should have released that song as a single. I think it's beautiful. It's actually about her mother.
Love Tried to Welcome Me is her best song to me, it’s gorgeous.
You know to repetitive…… moments later
Madonna: I have a ‘Secret’ for you.
Moments later
Benn: That’s a 5 min song I don’t know why Im crying I can listen this my entire life.❤❤❤❤
LOL
Wait till you see the video for bedtime story.
Dying to see it omg
Grew up on this. Know every word to every song by heart. Lol.
Bedtime Stories is in my top 5 for sure!
Im glad you loved Human Nature because she LOVES to do that song on tour.
YESSSSS
inside of me it's actually about her mother :c
This album was never high ranking for me but I have come appreciate its cohesion, the song placement, and the fact that “sing Lottie Dottie” was meant to be sarcastic. Interesting fact : “take a bow “ is madonnas second or third biggest hit of all time. Crazy to think it rivals “Vogue” in terms of sales; doesn’t even seem like the same artist.
Take a bow is one of her biggest hits only in the US. It wasnt very big else where. Sales wise its not 3ven close to LAP, Vogue, Music, Hung Up and 4 Minutes most which were number ones all over the world not just in the US
one of my favorite albums, OMG what a wronged album underestimated by many people
Totally!
I reckon Inside of Me is an ode to her mom who passed away when she was 5
Very underrated album imo, i don't why though it's very good. I like how quintessence 90s Rnb it is. Also Bedtime story(the song) is quite a risky move from a huge artist like Madonna, she was fearless at the time always pushing the enveloppe.
Love her
Hey number 6… Sorry I’m late, but I’m thrilled you adore this album the same as I do. ❤
Hehe, never apologise!
I would like that you react to a Something to remember album (love One more chance). And later, the Evita album (movie soundtrack). Please!!!! ❤️
My favourite album of Madonna. I love Survival. And Dont stop. Take a bow is great.
The official album cover features a photo of Madonna upside down in the bed. But that was so confusing to people that they flipped the photo in further pressings.
I wish they'd kept it that way!
The start of the song Don’t Stop and all the way through the song it reminded me of Erotica. weird that. Never ever really delved into the music break down of the songs since i’ve had the album since 1994 when it came out.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
OMG! I LOOOOOOVE THIS ALBUM!
😍😍
I remember the first time I heard secret. I was in Jamaica in the library and I remember i got chills ……. Should have been a number 1 record
AGREED!
