Awesome video with accurate pricing! My only critique is that there is no mention of addition labor costs which average an additional 20-25% of the subtotal here in San Diego, these are retail costs only, not including day of set up and delivery of the event
This is an incredibly informative and accurate video for brides and grooms! Thank you for the extent you to this video to. So visually helpful to brides and grooms! As a florist I loved it and wish every bride and groom could watch this before they book a florist :)
My goodness! These prices are insane! Elope to Europe! We own a venue. We have lots of very real fake flowers. Honestly, you'd water them... We can do this for a fraction of the costs. For instance the first table of 200,- dollars. There are 26 small vases of which some function as candle holders, there are 8 candles and 18 times flowers. I've added everything up with our rental prices. This table would cost you 29,70 Euro. With the chiffon table runner 32,45 Euro. That's 35.37 US dollars. I never 'sell' anything that expensive here. We can make a similar look for half that price actually, looking equally nice. No costs for delivery either, they are already here.
I notice in your video description that you have a book but I can't find anywhere to buy it? Amazon.com only has one used book available, and I cannot find it available in Canada at all. Is it still available?
Hi Monica, there are 18 books left in stock new on Amazon! You can also buy it on Etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/721599113/a-brides-guide-to-a-picture-perfect?ref=shop_home_active_1
I purchased like 15 bowls and a bunch of floral supplies. Still ran me like $300 plus the flowers will be another $300 but it’s cheaper than a florist who will charge me $2000-$3000
Usually you return them - especially if they are ceramic/specialty (fancy type). Sometimes the plastic/glass ones you might keep but it depends on your contract.
Hi Isabelle, you are so right! We own a small venue in NRW, Germany. I've broken down the costs of the first table of 200 dollars. With fake flowers that look so real, that you would water them, this table would cost you 35.37 dollars (32,45 Euro). That's With the chiffon table runner! Plus I would be able to create an equal look for about half that price. And that would be considered expensive here! Today I 'sold' tables for a wedding for 6,75 Euro each, with a satin table runner, an ivy garland, a glass vase with flowers in it and fairy lights on it, plus two tealight holders incl. tealights. The USA has mad prices!
Sometimes you can buy them for less but then you have to deal with the cleaning, storage/selling afterwards plus the time to source and prepare all of the items (for a lot of people time=money). Many people don't want to bother with that. Some of the fabrics (like particular patterns or more luxe materials) might be hard to source. For people who like to DIY, buying might be a nice alternative to renting if they have the time to source, prep, clean, etc.
@@cavinelizabeth I see. Well, I just bought 100% silk organza to go on my tables while I watching your video. I can't imagine wanting to rent polyester du jour instead. But as you said, some people can't be bothered so I'll leave them to it. Thanks and have a beautiful day.
People need to understand the photos on Pinterest and Etsy are of artificial flowers most of the time and are staged. As a florist I have problems with people not understanding fresh flowers are different and they have natural shapes.
Allow me to kindly disagree. I'm a garden buff. I have thousands of pictures of real flowers labeled with their proper names. They aren't fake or staged, but they are unbelievably beautiful
I appreciate this video and the information. I come across so many brides who are shocked by the prices of wedding floral arrangements
I totally agree!
This is a good start! Don’t forget to add in delivery and tear down which is can be around 20-30%.
Great point, aimee!

True, this was just to illustrate the cost of the actual flowers not necessarily go into detail of the full proposal of the whole wedding. :)

Is this pricing before markup? Is this wholesale?
This is what the client would pay.
So helpful, thank you so much

Smart move!
Do you return the base vase or is this included in price.?
Usually you return them - especially if they are ceramic/specialty (fancy type). Sometimes the plastic/glass ones you might keep but it depends on your contract.
Jeez, flowers are expensive in the US :O here in Germany every Vase would cost only half of what you said!?

I'm not sure I understand why you would rent the fabric and the accessories when you can buy them for much less.
