Hello, thanks for your question. Both ways would be fine, but we have pros and cons. Starting when it is small is recommended, since rubber trees in a certain size will become firm, and a branch can be broken on the way. However, bigger size trees would be easy for "crafting" to your preferred shape. I hope that you would find a best way for you by going through some experiences. Enjoy and good luck!
