My all-time F1 hero, from the days when it was REAL racing. EF was always a gentleman and a rock-solid steady pair of hands. Wonderful to see him reunited with the car. Well-done McLaren, Top-Hole....!
This is our dear racing driver Émerson Fittipaldi, two times world champion at very, very beautifull cars. I am still your fan!! Jaraguá do Sul, city/ Santa Catarina, state/ Brasil, country.
We have to say thanks to Emerson! First Brazilian driver to enter Formula 1. He did a great job in the category, a great champion! A great pilot, a legend, a great human being! The guy who increased the Brazilian's passion for Formula One !! Part of Formula 1 history. Two legends, Emerson and Mclaren! Regards from Brazil.
The one biggest problems with modern f1 is telemetry, every era before telemetry has been epic. Ever since telemetry has taken over the sport has severely deteriorated. I have seen an interview with Colin Chapman from 1973 when fittipaldi drove for lotus and Chapman explains Emerson's great talent, he could describe how the car was behaving so the engineers and mechanics can set the car up just so. This used to be a critical skill for drivers, since the nineties it has not been nessasery. (No matter how good a car is, if it's not set up correctly it won't win) Also forget drs, that makes overtaking but not impressive, exciting overtaking. Steel brakes would increase braking distances which would create more overtaking in the corners, that is when the overtaking maneuvers we remember are made.
3:52 real engine sound. Monster!!! (puuuubububububuuuu)! That's would should like a F1 sound. Nowdays is like a remote control car engine. Pibibibiiiii
Very fast and , NB! the safest car of the era. 1973 in France several cars crashed into Jody`s Mac23 side and Jody walked away totally uninjuried after that. Amazing, because side crashes were (are) almost always the most dangerous ones.
At the 2nd to the last Grand Prix of 1974 - the Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport - I was in the pits (I was 19, snuck into the pits on both Friday & Saturday) to see the action up close, take pictures of the cars & Formula One drivers. I also had a book - on Grand Prix World Champions - that I was having drivers autograph. I came up to Emerson at the McLaren pit counter between practice sessions, to have him sign his "chapter" in the book - which was titled "Emerson Fittipaldi 1972 World Champion" - he smiled, signed it, then wrote "1974" next to the "1972"...I looked at him, smiled and pointed to it, (Clay Reggazoni was in the 1974 Championship lead at that time - for Ferrari) he smiled, shrugged his shoulders, and said; "we'll see!" Emmo went on to win that Canadian G.P., Clay finished 2nd - which tied them in points. Then Emmo finished 4th at the U.S.G.P. at Watkins Glen two weeks later - the final Grand Prix of the year - and Clay finished 11th...so Emerson Fittipaldi DID become the 1974 World Champion..."we'll see" turned into "he was right!"
I am a Regazzoni fan forever and was so sad to see the Ferrari to be so bad at the Glen. But I never knew what happened on that first lap. Emmo did the the right thing and I salute him for winning the title that way.
He was winning when I first started watching F-1... and we had noted that he did not qualify well but charged during the race. Emmo was my first F-1 hero... Too bad he went to Copersucar.
Fittipaldi is one of the greatest drivers ever. If only he didn't waste several years with his Copersucar team, who had a terrible car, we would've witnessed Fittipaldi vs Lauda, which wouldn've been amazing.
Emerson - you should have stayed for 1976! you developed it at the end of 1975 and did well in Italy and USA but then left it for James....to drive the rubbish Copersucar! Bad decision....
1974 season is soooo underrated! Emerson is such a cool guy too! So calm.
My all-time F1 hero, from the days when it was REAL racing. EF was always a gentleman and a rock-solid steady pair of hands. Wonderful to see him reunited with the car. Well-done McLaren, Top-Hole....!
A gentleman, a amazing human being, a great driver! Word Champion for Mclaren, a legend!
Forty years after piloting the #McLaren M23 to championship victory, Emerson #Fittipaldi gets back behind the wheel of this iconic GP car.
Awesome!
FORZA FERRARIIII
la estabilidad en las ruedas una gran expeiencia .
Hey McLaren...can you guys upload that short promo video that you used for the unveiling of the P1 GTR At Pebble Beach 2014? Thanks.

I remember being at the 1974 U.S. Grand Prix at Watkins Glen; and now FINALLY I know how he won the WDC from Regga! Thanks!

Emo is a Legend !!!!!!
Melhor piloto do mundo: Emerson Fittipaldi.

Nosso campeão e uma máquina incrível
4.37 mins is that 2nd gears so there would be less mistakes and faster shifts
So no one gonna talk about the Lockheed sponsor on the car
Was Peter Revson's ride but Fittipaldi and Marlboro money got the deal. Not complaining just a fact in 1974.
Brazil makes the most likable people Emerson Fittipaldi, Ayrton Senna. Nelson piquet? Not so much but he’s a funny guy nonetheless.
He doesn't own any of the cars he drove?

Quiero ver el mc laren m23 no la cara de fittipaldi!
less talk more car pls
That’s a double world champion... he can talk.
