The original dance was choreographed by Rainey Alexander around 1985 in Los Angeles....several changes have been made I see.

Very cool, unsure what the original looked like, but I’m sure over the years modifications were made for whatever reason. Again, this video was made and posted back when this dance was still in rotation at our bar, it has since fallen off our rotation and replaced with something else, considering new dances are being pumped out every hour it seems! Haha happy dancing Rance, cool name btw 😎

@@MandaRyan Nice to hear back from you. The first part of the dance moving forward was step on R (1), slap R thigh(&), slap L thigh(2)....repeat on L, (3&4), repeat on R and L (5&6, 7&8), the moving back is the same as you teach, instead of vines to the Right and Left, she actually turned to the right with a step R(1), slide L up to R(2), step forward R(3), half turn left on ball of R foot(4), repeat moving to the left, then right, then left....end the dance with the shuffles as you taught. Less shuffles, I have seen about 3 variations which is what usually happens with dances, but wanted you to know where and who was the choreographer. I have been teaching CW dancing since 1979 and still enjoy it today. Scoot them Boots Manda!!!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This was the name of an older line dance at Stoneys before I was even the instructor there. It’s no longer in rotation at our bar anyways. Dances and the names differ from place to place though, like “Whip It” is called “Aces and Eights” at most places. And there are a number of different versions of “Fake ID” out there. Best to keep an open mind and remember dance is meant to be fun and not taken so seriously 🤠
