- Hey Gang! What an awesome week with Danny and Allen. We still can't believe they were kind enough to donate their time to come and hang our rock, we could not have gotten this far without them! Still a few things left to do drywall wise, sanding, some mudding here and there and other things, but all of the tough stuff is done thanks to these boys!

You know I’ve been watching Jordan make content for a little less than a decade now from playing video games on twitch to now home improvement and builds. Love seeing how he has grown his audiences.
Love you Bill hope you’re doing good bud! 💪🏼
Drywall pros like Danny and Allen make it look so easy. I've done enough drywall to know I will always hire that job out. Hanging wears you out and taping/finishing is an art. I end up with more mud on me and the floor than on the wall.
Heard that, even with an ear full of mud.
I couldn't agree more. Drywall is a job best left to the pros.
You can say that but MAN do labor costs add up. Drywalling half of a 15x25 room cost us $2,000.
And it’s satisfying to watch them at their craft. Like an artist.
This comment reached into my soul lol, right there with you.
Wrap the beam in a vinyl graphic of......... an I-beam.
Damn, someone already beat me to this suggestion!
Danny is a natural on cam. He'd do well with his own show for sure. I'm on the other side of the mountains from them, about six hours away.
Danny was great. I enjoyed watching him. If I ever need dry wall I hope to have a professional like him.
He has a RUclips channel - Drywall Danny.
There's no way he's not familiar with yotube and a camera
A BIG W Allen and A BIG W Danny! Hearts of gold.
Paul
Please do a segment on your dad. You have mentioned him a bunch about how much he has shown you over the years like you're doing so for Jordan. Stud Pack family would love to know.
Much love from Canada.
No idea how you guys don't have a million subscribers yet. Not many people can make drywall entertaining.
Probably bc of how they changed the channel from the original that drew in their core audience. Now it’s a Build Show/RR knockoff and not nearly as entertaining.
dry wall mud is like finishing concrete, one of the most important thing to know is when to walk away. It's always that 'one more pass' that screws it up.
Funny, there's a very similar saying in surgery. The enemy of good is better.
I know it's probably silly but I've been watching your channel for over 4 years and I'm just ridiculously proud of you.
Not sure why but I keep flashing back to the house full of bees, the squirrels clogging all the vent pipes, and the guy who's floor was completely rotted out. You all are amazing and such a wonderful and inspiring team ♥️♥️♥️
And Danny is just awesome. One of your best collabs.
Speaking of the house with the rotten floors about three months after that video dang if I didn’t get a job just like it had to remove all the floors on half of the house it was a nightmare to say the least 😮
My goodness that garage is huge! You don’t realize, how big, until the drywall is up.
Huge W for Danny and his Dad!
With regard to the beam, finish it to Level 5, I mean really finish it perfectly. Paint it bright white semi gloss, then every time someone new comes to you build (to work) let them sign the beam. This way Jordan can always remember those that helped with his home.
I used to have the same problems with the corners until I found that Home Depot sales a stainless steel drywall corner trowel for $11. Makes the job very easy
Wrap the beam in diamond plate steel sheets! And consider making the floor the rugged dynamat/diamond plate material as well for a full "industrial" garage/shop look!
Danny would have screwed off those sheets faster than the 3 guys combined lol.
And the Dads shirt is awesome.
This is better channel then any HGTV shows. Real people with real world application.
(This comment will get lost in the noise, but ...) Trim-Tex makes a product called "Buttboard Drywall Backer". Instead of having the drywall seams land on the studs, you have the seams in the space between the studs, and use Buttboard behind each seam. You have a much wider backer to hit with the screws at each joint, and the Buttboard is slightly bent, creating a shallow valley at the seam, which makes taping and mudding to create a perfectly flat joint much easier.
Comment isn’t lost Dondu! We read em 💪🏼 Trim Tex has awesome stuff
@@StudPack I have made my own and used them in a few key areas. The results are great, with super flat walls. The trim guy (me) was really happy to be working on those surfaces after the plasterer (me) was done.
Professional drywallers Never cease to amaze me!!!! Well done Dan and Dad 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Godspeed ❤️🙏🏻
Beam wrap idea, dark walnut wood veneer to make it look like you have a wood beam spanning the garage. Or just matte black it, can't go wrong
Matte black is what I was thinking
Red I was thinking the same thing
For the beam in the middle, how about laminating it with thin 2 edge cuts of 2X stock to make it look like a huge stud pack (it is after all your name).
Alternatively you could use rough cedar laminate to make it look like a huge rough cedar beam.
When I bought a small tub of drywall compound, and wanted to save it for another day (it was in fact over a year!). I just put a piece of plastic wrap tight to the drywall compound (no air bubbles), and up the side of the container. This works quite well, and you don't need the water that might dilute the mixture. You can test this by poking at the compound and it isn't "hard". Put the lid on, and you are good for the next application.
As for the Bazooka, I saw one many years ago, and thought it was amazing. Speedy drywall installers are truly amazing! Props to Danny and crew.
i always do the plastic over the top i also sprinkle a tiny bit of water in there say like a tablespoon or 2 keeps moisture content inside good store in a cool dry place, in fact i believe the 5 gallon comes with a piece of plastic not sure about the small tub
Best to clean the sides well, whichever method you use.
veteran drywall finisher here. still have my stilts hanging in the garage. back in the day it was called a Bazooka. pans are better ;) also, sanding, Masks!!!
Hawk and trowel guy here 😉
Yep. I heard it called a bazooka as well. Friend was a union taper in NYC. Said that the union got them banned because they killed OT.
Danny and Allen are the kind of guys you want to work with. Great team!
Big W's to Danny and Allen
W DANNY & W ALLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great video!
I am amazed at how Danny was able to work on those stilts!
A BIG W for Allen and A BIG W for Danny! What if you hired a local artist to paint an I-beam on the box? I've seen the suggestions for a wrap, but thought this might help you promote a local artist too.
Just wanted to say that I love how you guys stay positive and always saying great things about others. In construction there is always alot hate mail or bashing another trades craftsmanship. Dosen't always seem to be enough of that these days. Thanks guys!
W Danny and W Alan!!! Great drywall job. Man that was quick!!
The spray foam you put around your sewer pipe is flammable. Read the can. If you use that foam here is Florida the fire inspector will fail you.
The build is beautiful and it sound as though the finishes will not disappoint. Great channel.
Awesome drywallers! Drywallers die young, Stud pack gets it
Drywall Danny W!!! Drywall Dannys DAD W!!!, idea for the beam..... wrap it in steel with big rivets, and rust it for panina, seal it with a clear coat for an industrial look.
no matter whatyou guys come up with will be AWSOME. keep up the great work guys. love the content.
As a communications construction person I see the difference in who cares and who dose not once the painters start their part all the time. Enjoy watching you all every week. Danny and his dad did a super job.
Drywall Danny is a beast! Can't wait to see the paint go up! This is the motivation I needed to go back and finish the mess I made scraping the popcorn off my ceilings 😂
Had to come straight to the comments after watching the lightning fast mud and sand. True artist of their profession.
A big shout out to ALLAN AND DANNY'S team. your AWESOME!!!!!
DW Danny and DW Allan FTW!
with all the LED lighting Jordan wants and a garage, For the Beam i think it might look cool to get a whole lot of hubcaps to cover it but put the lighting behind them so that you can get some lighting with a cool garage feature
Drywall Superheroes from Washington State! I think that's a pretty good comicbook or graphic novel title. The bazooka is yet another fantastic tool showcased by Stud Pack. Back when I taped and mudded my garage/recording studio 40 years ago, I used an inside corner trowel on those pesky inside corners. Probably overkill. Could have done it without. Let me know when the graphic novel comes out.
Wow! That Sheetrock father and son team are awesome 👏
Drywallers get paid by the sq. so there is a .... Need for speed!! LoL!! Great guys W Danny and W Allen !!!
Don't ask my wife what to do with the beam, she would be saying glitter and a disco light or two ... LoL!!
Keeping the mud in the pail good to go for the next day ... keep a roll of plastic wrap handy, put a layer on top the mud .... TAA DAA!! No watery mud!
They make muddying look so easy. Nice job.
That bazooka looks like an ames, i used to run that gun while walking on stilts also,
Do a bookcase cut with your choice of wood, bookcase cut it ( cut a 2 by or 1 by right down the middle) unfold it, butt it end to end. Grain will match up and when you stain it, no variation in the wood. Looks like a solid beam all the way across.
Danny was great! Looking forward to seeing him on the main house.
BIG W Allen & BIG W Danny 💪💪
W Danny and Allen you guys were awesome !!
holy that's impressive danny's mudtaping
Danny drywall, bad ass!
I have never seen those cool taping tools in my life. Pretty ingenious, and awesome.
Thank you Drywall Danny
I learned the hard way that architectural cove lighting is absolutely worth the effort, but holy cow does your drywall finishing have to be flawless!
I definitely want to see you guys head up to Washington and help those guy on a project it would be epic
Yes! They’ll get an invite on something we do here for sure!
What a great couple of guys! Good to see you guys getting such good help.
Danny and Allen are such a great couple of guys! Definitely hope to see them when you guys get that house going!! And great tutorial on mudding those corners, Paul!
Since it's in the garage, I would wrap that beam in some high polished aluminum diamond plate; or if you prefer something more refined, what about some hardwood veneer, stained and polyurethaned? Can't wait, as always, to see what you do.
Before you know it these boys are going to be kickin' it in this crib.
All contractors should use you folks as an example of quality work.
You guys are too cool for school! The amazing team of Danny and Allen were such fun to watch showing us how it's done. He can complain all he wants about being short but the guy can work circles around any 3 of us. Thanks for another great video.
That tool is freaking out of this world level advancement. Danny and his Dad are highly highly skilled individuals.
Looks even more impressive with the dry wall up. Nice work
These guys bring NASA level skills and tech to the process. Holy crap that's amazing.
Stud Pack competition was funny 😁 😁 😁 and Drywall Danny Dad Alan are awesome! 😎 👌🏼 looking fantastic now!
thought I was watching @ 1.5x speed; nope - just Drywall Danny & Allan speed! cannot wait for all of the interior decorators to come out of the woodwork (drywall) when the painting starts
W Allen and w Danny. Those are some awesome tools. Never thought I’d need a bazooka at home but now I’m having second thoughts
11:30 the only time that sewer pipe will catch fire is when Jordan eats taco bell
Always resist the urge to clean up the spray foam with your bare hands untill its dry cuz man its hard to get off a guys hands...if it gets in your clothes...forget about it! Awesome work danny and dad you guys are bad asses!
Pro drywaller with pro tools...............................Outstanding
Thanks 👍
Danny and Allen! Great job guys.
Danny and Allen are great guys to come out and help you. I like their tools too but I bet you need a lot of experience to use them efficiently. Great job as always,.
What an awesome drywalling crew. Their work looks great.
W for Danny and Alan. Another tip, make sure that the mud doesn't freeze. Also, I always used drywall primer. It seals the drywall plus it will show any imperfections and let you fix them before paint.
Drywall Danny was great. Loved his energy. Looking good Stud Pack.
for that steel I beam i would cover it with a weathered and sealed oak or any type of wood like a log cabin would over a double door.
Thanks to David and Allen for help on the drywall job.. Great Job Guy's on finally getting the drywall finished.. looks cool..
W Allen and W Danny, those tools were awesome
Not a Pro - Ever since an experienced remodeler showed me setting compounds, I never came back to all purpose. You have to work faster, but you do work faster! Corners and holes and but joints become trivial. 20-45 or 90 minutes depending on size of job. leave the ridges!! just scrape them once dry and go on with your life. I prefer to prime with shellac (BIN) or Oil (Kilz) before mudding tricky torn paper, hole repairs or water damaged areas.
BIG W's for both Allen and Danny! Awesome video again.. excited seeing the progress. You guys are killing it!
Beam cover ideas: find something local that ties in the community as in common in Texas. Also reclaimed barnwood veneer. If you’re into cars… carbon fiber.
*drywall danny and his dadd some bad a$$ dudes*
W / Danny & Allen 💙
W Danny and W Alan. Those special drywall tools are the bomb and save so much time. Drywall is hard work, heavy, and messy but fun at the same time.
Awesome for the technique tips, but I think my error is beyond my repair. I will let the painters fix it. Danny and Allen were true pros in the business!!
Excellent video! Awesome job Danny and Allen that place looks great!
Great work! W Danny and W Allen!!
Growing up, my dad's garage had a wooden beam, with posts, supporting the attic floor. Your I-beam would look great wrapped in wood-beam simulating wallpaper.
Ready for paint? That ain't ready for paint. I wanna see you boys put a skim-coat up there!
@studpack not a huge deal, but if you ever had a reason to keep that spray foam controlled you can get a spray bottle of water and mist the foam at it will cause it to skin over faster. in about 3 mins. we use it all the time when trying to get a smooth finish on exposed in air hanger walls.
Some BIG W's For those guys! Danny and Alan did an awesome job, What a community you have built
Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦. Wow StudPack crew. The drywall process was amazing. What an awesome team you had in Danny and Allen, extremely professional. The build is looking fantastic. Great job, keep it up 👏. Cheers
W danny, w allen!
Regarding the beam, look at what people are using to clad mantels and the walls around wood burning stoves. Tin, copper, stick-on or screw in, all sorts of methods and materials. Hard to pick one when we don't know the final design aesthetic. I think a thin sheet metal to make the whole beam look like galv or stainless steel would be appropriate for a garage... until someone tries to hang a lifelt or winch from it LOL!
Speaking of winches and cranes, it might be a good idea to hang a small crane arm on the back porch for when you're moving furniture in and out. I bet you guys already have a plan for that though. Still, if you make it permanent, it can function as a rope swing down to a backyard pool 😂
Love you guys taking us along on this fun ride. Can't wait foe the next one (no pressure)
Wrap the beam with black walnut to make it look like it’s a wooden beam holding up the second story.
Danny and Allen are amazing. So cool to see this! Great job as always guys! Have you thought about doing rounded corners with the drywall instead of sharp? Looks good and less knocking into and chipping it.
W Allen and W Danny!
Hey Stud Pack I am a subscriber of your channel you guys are so awesome and cool 😎 I went to tell you good luck on the project and I hope things are going well 😊
Danny and Allen work magic! Great job.
A BIG W for Allen and Danny! Craftsmen on another level.
Love, love the race in the beginning and the commentary of it was gold! If the dude decides to hang up his career on drywalling, he could easily be a radio guy. That is a nifty way to tape and mud drywalls. Work smarter, not harder.
BIG W ALLEN / BIG W DANNY! Awesome work, fellas!
W^2 Danny and Allen sure were flying. It's amazing what pro's can do with a tool.
Big W for Allen and Danny! Super Stars!!
HUGE W BOTH DANNY AND ALLEN! Can't wait to see it all painted!!!
Danny & Allen, great job!
Moving right along guys
