I'm going OS soon and chose SimCorner as it provides you with a fully functional phone, with a number.
As this will be my first esim, I hope I have done my research correctly 😅

Let us know how you get on!! I’m sure you’ve picked well. I’d love to hear your review and if it’s worth having a different number. There will be so many different options in the future, I’m sure. Cheers. 😎👍

@@LifeOfReillyTV I have finally returned from my holiday. The SimCorner eSIM worked just as suggested. I was allocated a phone number as well as data for the package I chose. Having a local phone number came in handy when out & about when I needed to call a business for information about their menu (dietary requirement) or bookings. The only issue I came across was international calls & text were not supported in the package, but you could add money to your account specifically for this purpose (IF I recall correctly).
I'll be doing my travelling this way in the future.

This sounds like a great solution. I had to wifi call people as we didn't get a phone number with our eSim package. It all worked really well for us and we were just out in the States for six weeks. Thanks for posting your review...I'll try yours out next time.

In the UK, I suggest people just go to the local shop and buy a £1 sim and pop that in, You get a lot less data this way but I get that it's convenience also problem with E-Sims since the data gets tunneled back to the e-sim provider you tend to have higher latency

I didn’t know about the techie side of it. It’s just so nice to not have to research which local sim to buy and what hidden costs there might be. Good info, thanks!

Many thanks. Two questions: 1) Does the data calls and text use my regular number? 2) do just ignore the messages from my uk carrier to add data or turn data roaming off? Thank you.

Hi Stephen, I'll jump straight into your questions! 1) The calls and texts will be from your normal plan, unless you use WhatsApp/Messenger internet calls, which will be from your data plan. 2) I would turn data off from my UK carrier, so you can't be charged a fortune and only Airalo/E-Sim will use data that way. That's the good thing about having two SIMs on there, you can turn one off independently. I hope that helps!

Great content! I'm new to ESIM. This website link asks you to identify your identity. ie load your passport / ID. is this a safe thing to do?

I was cheap and only called people from WhatsApp and Messenger. You could keep the data off but voice on for your home plan to receive calls (and make them in an emergency) which is what I did. But you can also get a Data and Voice plan now. 😀
