One reason for the long walk in the airport (which is true is a lot of the larger airports) is to give the workers there time to unload your luggage. If the walk was short, you would have had to wait 10-15 minutes at baggage claim until your luggage arrived. They actually researched this, and found out people reported a more positive experience with a longer walk (where they are doing something with some purpose) than when they just waited around for their luggage at baggage claim, doing nothing but getting more frustrated with the wait.
Yes ive heard they route you in circles to consume time….then you can get your cases after your long walk…and they sell you more coffee that way too..and maybe a croissant..
9:56 as someone that worked for Thameslink in London a few years ago, hearing someone talking about the TfL caps and getting a good strategy for using the Elizabeth Line (so the rest of your tubes and buses for that day are effectively free) warmed my heart. Nicely researched. I do recommend that people traveling in from overseas buy a Visitor's Oyster Card preloaded with funds for the week (Transport for London will mail it to you if you do it a few weeks ahead of time) so you can get straight through the barriers and onto that public transportation.
@@RWFAN184 - the Visitor version is only available for people buying it online from out of the country (£5, plus whatever amount you pre-load onto it). Discounts off purchases, free drinks with the purchase of a regular a la carte meal when you show the Card. Things like that. My wife and I got way more than £5 worth of freebies each when we last went in 2018, and we still have the Oyster Card for the next time we go to London (where we can get even more discounts and freebies).

I'm a dual national, born in the UK (most of my family still there), currently live in the US. I'm from Reading in the UK, which actually is at the very western end of the Elizabeth line. It's so interesting to see someone experience London for the first time and navigate on a transport system I'm intimately familiar with. I hope you enjoyed your time there! If you ever return and you have a particular interest in London's trains visit the London Transport Museum (closest station Covet Garden on the Picadilly Line.) The underground is the oldest metro system in the world, and the recent history of London in many ways IS the history of the Underground. Safe travels!
Next year, inshallah.. I am planning to visit to the UK from Uzbekistan so then this video is really useful for me to concentrate on terminal special for luggage reclaim..but I see from the plane untill baggage reclaim and train station are a long way..wow any advise s to me 🙃
I'm a dual national, born in the UK and live in the USA. Question: upon arrival at LHR, which passport do you use? I'm also taken the Eurostar, so same question. Thanks
Thank you for making the extra effort to show us Heathrow and the trip to London. It was great to see that sometimes, even for a seasoned pro there are a few bumps in the road that must be dealt with. Your relaxed approach is definitely the way to go.
I always appreciate you do extensive and unedited videos, so other travelers can be informed about the directions and what should be done. The customs and luggage claim processes were so quick. The train car looks so new, modern, and clean, and it runs smoothly and quietly despite the delays. It's not easy to make videos while lugging your belongings, especially being unfamiliar in a new destination. 👍 I'm glad you had a safe flight, and thank you for sharing this informative video, AK! You're the BEST! 🤗
NYC subway fare gates work in both directions, hence our host's confusion. Depending on where you are going to in London the Piccadilly line can be about as fast as the Elizabeth line. The Elizabeth line and the Heathrow express use overhead wire power while all the tube trains use third rail power.
I would choose the Elizabeth line over the others. Nice and new and lots of trains. The Heathrow Express is longer than 15 mins and not as fast as the name suggests. I think your journey went pretty good. Busy times are the morning commute and evening. Nice to see it through non UK eyes too. Thanks for sharing.
Heathrow Express is also a privately owned line, thats why its more expensive. It was the first rail connection to the airport with the tube connections and Elizabeth line coming along later. In some ways though what would be fastest and most conveniant depends which terminal your plane arrives at.
This is very insightful. The distance and time required to go through the airport is insane. A long time ago, passengers climbed off a plane with stairs, onto the ground and into the fresh air. Those were the good times.
Totally agree. I was in London Stansted Airport few times and it's going way faster and easier than here. Im shocked especially that people told me that Heathrow is better than Stansted. Good to know. Thanks for the video
Great video and also useful to anyone visiting from overseas for the first time. That storm that delayed your train (named Storm Ciaran) was actually the worst ever here in northwest France. Highest recorded wind speed was 207km/h (128mph). That was 11 days ago but there are still 10k households without power, lots of roads still blocked, roofs gone. My shed exploded and we lost 7 trees but it was also a fascinating thing to live through. The power of nature is amazing.
Found this video by chance. Its so random............. Yet so good!! Love how you did not over talk. Just some great information!! Thanks for "sacrificing your mobility" for us!! Grin. Great Video.
I look forward to that walk after a 30 hour flight from Australia and I am 75. Done it many times.Avoid getting stuck behind people on the walkways-they are supposed to KEEP TO THE LEFT. Good luck 😁
You did amazingly well navigating your way across the airport to the correct train with your luggage, whilst filming! I never realised that here in England we use so many different words for things that travellers from other countries find unfamiliar. Welcome to England! Hope you enjoy your stay.
We live here in the UK so have been to Heathrow many times but never arrived or departed from T2 so your vlog was very insightful especially as we are going to T2 to fly to Singapore on Tuesday.Terminal2 is the furthest terminal from the trains. If you book in advance you can get a good dealon Heathrow express we got our tickets for Monday for £5.50 each but we booked months ago.Its funny watching how others view your country and how they pronounce words. Enjoy your stay and hope you have time to explore outside london
I found this video very interesting. I was brought up and lived very close to the rail line so I was able to follow the journey in great detail recognising many of the buildings along the way though a lot of them are new. I worked at Heathrow in the 1970s when it was growing fast but compared to now it was much more compact and simpler back then. Now living in Australia I don’t visit very often but find Heathrow quite a challenge to navigate through all the underground walkways and somewhat confusing signage. One aside, for anyone wondering, the collection of old steam locomotives and carriages you passed along the way are at the old Southall engine sheds which was once one of the main GWR loco depots but is now the base for some historic rail preservation groups.
Wow this is terrific giving us insight of the procedure it takes when traveling out of the country. Really appreciate this detailed step by step process Actionkid. We that never been through this process gives us insight on what it takes. And also what to look forward to when traveling like this 👍🏿. Definitely having small kids doing this walk will tire them out lol. So long to get to the train
I flew from SFO to Heathrow late last August. I just kept following the yellow signs and realized that we went under a taxiway/ramp for much of the way before coming back up to the customs area. While it took a while to get through all that, having my bag already on the carousel was nice. I took the Piccadilly line into the city, switching to the Circle Line to get to Aldgate, my end destination. Piccadilly wasn't air conditioned and it was quite warm (for London) that morning. It wish I'd seen this video before that trip as it would have given me a good idea of what to expect. My return to LHR was also a bit of a mess. I only made it two stops on the Underground before the driver announced that we were waiting for an unknown amount of time due to a trespasser on the tracks well ahead of us. He recommended switching to another line, if possible, to get to your destination. I had a Tube Map app on my phone which helped me figure out the alternatives and I ended up on the Elizabeth line, the only other line going to the airport. But even that didn't go smoothly as a train broke down ahead of us and ours was truncated at Hatton Cross (I think). After a bit of a wait, another train came along that was going through to Heathrow. I was only going to my hotel for my flight out the next morning, but some people were trying to catch a flight still that night and were a bit nervous! It was a long day as I started it in Germany, had a canceled DB train from Cologne to Brussels to deal with and still make my Eurostar, then the issues getting from St Pancras to Heathrow, but I made it. I had ordered a Visitor's Oyster card ahead of time and I'm glad I did. It might not save anything on fares, but it does offer discounts to some London attractions, and it was convenient. Unfortunately, you can't add money to it, or check your balance online, only at a ticket machine in a station. Not sure why that restriction exists, but it would be nice if it didn't exist. With it you avoid exchange fees from US banks that you might have using a contactless card, or your phone. That wouldn't be an issue for UK banks, but it might be for US banks.
Hey mate. I was planning on my first trip to London alone from Australia two years and I found your video very useful. Showing me where I gotta to go so I don’t get lost when I arrive. Thanks a heap.
I can't believe you said it was a rather chaotic journey , really? Even with a delay due to downed power lines following a storm , it seemed a fairly easy & seamless journey . The Elizabeth Line looks modern, clean & efficient .
I'll continue to use the Heathrow Express thank you very much! After spending several weeks in a foreign country, £2000 on air-fares, a 24-hour, long haul flight in cramped conditions, I just want to get home as quickly and comfortably as possible, I'm not going to faff about over a few pounds sterling. It takes me about 90 minutes to get from Heathrow to my Greenwich home.
Paddington is in Greenwich? LOL. Sounds like more faff than getting the Elizabeth line to another connecting station, e.g. Woolwich, and going home from there.
Except it's not a few pounds for U.S. people. It's a difference between $30-ish USD and $60-ish USD round trip. So that's $30 saved by not taking Express to use on something else while on holiday.
30:44 Barriers with a Red Cross on them means you can’t pass them, not because they’re broken or out of order…otherwise it would usually say so on the small green screen underneath. Find a barrier with a Green Tick, insert your ticket or scan your oyster card on the yellow reader, and in you go. Our ticket barriers run on a one way only system, hence the Red Cross/Green Tick thing. Hope that’s helpful!
Thanks AK! I'm going to London in a few months, which will also be my first time abroad, and I was nervous about the Heathrow-to-London transportation. Your video has set my mind at ease. I'll be reviewing all your London videos before I depart!
The only indication that a service may be delayed is shown at 29:55. Wish they publish the status of the Underground, Overground, DLR and Elizabeth somewhere so that travellers have options. The Transport for London (TfL) website is a good indicator and updates every 30 seconds, but how about those going to the UK temporarily who's phone is not capable of using internet/phone calls outside the country of residence. Clearly out of all the TFL lines (including Overground, DLR and Elizabeth but excluding buses), the Elizabeth is the one which expeirenced the most unplanned delays/cancellations. But most importantly, I love that this shows an indication of how long it would take from entering the airport to London which includes a 10 minute stop but excludes passport control.
Long past trip to London, highlights were a boat ride down the Thames to Greenwich for a walk around. Also a day trip to Bath. October and days were a little longer than now. I took the tubes or busses and a couple of night went across London back from a late night in the East End, to Earl's Court area, by night bus. One great sight I loved but did not plan, was going S thu Hyde Park, passing Albert Memorial at twilight, then around the Albert Hall and in Knightsbridge to pass Harrods.
Thank you for this. I loved that you included the parts where is you just learning what you have to do. The not knowing always gives me anxiety, but seeing we are all actually just learning is refreshing ❤
That was really interesting and useful - thank you for filming it. Very surprised walking time so long - not sure I could do that, lol. Impressed at how clean all the station and train was.
There are small electric cars with driver, who collect you and and your luggage and drive along the tunnels. I don't know if you have to book in advance.
This is very insightful. Last time I flew to London to Heathrow T5 from Glasgow was before the Elizabeth Line opened, In September I’m doing videos of the Scottish ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne routes, I’m a regular CalMac passenger as I live on one of the island that is served by CalMac.
Welcome to United Kingdom. I just saw your video of you arriving here.y word , that was some time it took from the plane to get to the train, my word . Then what a carry on you had on " The Elizabeth Line " , poor you ! I just saw you arriving @ Paddington Station. I hope you enjoy your trip here, I hope to catch you in London soon. I used to watch you , don't know why I stopped, I enjoyed watching you, especially the Statue of Liberty, will watch the rest of your trip, I hope you enjoyed it & were made welcome. From me in Scotland 👍😁😁
My wife, daughter and I took that same flight for our 30th anniversary last year. Terminal 2 to Customs is soooo long. We were confused at that elevator as well😂 I think most people are. You should take a ferry on the River Thames, they give a great history lesson on London. The Big Bus gives a free ferry ride when you purchase a hop on, hop off bus ticket.
@@mj254 I flew to LHR with BA. they put us on the far end of T5 which is the largest terminal. i wanted to sue them for emotional distress by the time i left 😭
@@theecarking LHR is an extremely efficient airport when it comes to immigration. I was flying as a Young Traveler, so I cleared with an actual officer. I was through in probably 10 minutes because everyone else was using the e-gates!
I rarely leave a comment on any RUclips video but I thought this video is one of the best I've seen. I've traveled to London several times but always through Gatwick. This will help with my next trip although I will be arriving at terminal 3 at LHR. Thanks for taking the time.
Thanks alot for doing this video. It was an eye opener. This video really taught me alot about the travel experience from disembarking the plane, getting onto the train and then finally reaching Paddington. Wow! What a journey. I've been praying all the time that I do a trip to the UK. It looks exciting. But that airport seems so vast. The amount of walking........wow it's crazy. You have to be fit. But luckily I do alot of walking though. I'm hoping to go around 2025. I'm going to save this video and watch it again especially before I leave lol 😆. It was great video, very informative. Thank God. And thanks again.
Can't agree more, fascinating. Very interesting for someone who is going on a journey haha. By the way I found out that at trainpal I can use a code to get a discount on buying tickets~
Hi AK, if you're interested in a interesting walk along the Southbank you could start at the end of Tooley st in Bermondsey Se1 walk down Shad Thames which will take you under Tower bridge and then follow the Thames path to Battersea Park and finish the walk by the Chinese pakoda. It's a bit of a long walk but I'm sure you will manage it, best done at the weekend during the day, the Southbank Centre would be a great place to stop for lunch.
This is why I prefer flying into Gatwick airport when i visit the Uk instead of Heathrow from Canada. It’s a much more straightforward airport where there’s a simple mini-train to take you between the two terminals and the main Train station to central London is right there. You take the “Thameslink” train. You don’t have to walk so much. I’ve visited the Uk 4 times now, most recently this past June. It’s funny how you got confused too by the word “calling” on trains, on my first visit to the UK in 2017 that tripped me up too, yes it’s the same as “stopping”. 😁
Thanks for sharing, fascinating. Very interesting for someone who is going on a journey haha. By the way I found out that at trainpal I can use a code to get a discount on buying tickets~
The Elizabeth line is a regular line and the same as all the others in the tube system. Because when it was built it used pre-existing tunnels belonging to a private company, that company charges for its use. This charge gets passed on to passengers as a surcharge - hence the higher than usual fare. Nowhere else in the tube system does this happen.
I haven't seen your video in soooo long! But thanks to you I have done and live some excellent memories....for example: 1. I moved from FL to NYC and your videos helped me sooooo much! 2. I have my own travel videos 😆 same as you but I am shy to upload them. Hopefully one day I'll do it. 3. So far I have been in 6 different countries due to seeing your videos in quarantine and moving to NYC.🙏🏽 Thanks!
I appreciate your video... I'm traveling to London alone in 3 weeks. I've been to London just once but arrived via a cruise/train/taxi and was with 4 friends. This is helpful.
I was in Kew Gardens spring this year and it is a beautiful place. Highly recommended if someone enjoys nature :) Also, as I've been there I saw planes fly non-stop like every 5 minutes for hours upon hours - I think these all were approaching Heathrow. The traffic in London airports is just insane!
Welcome to London! sorry that you are experiencing train delays, usually the Elizabeth line is reliable, i managed to get to Heathrow within 40 minutes. .. Enjoy your trip
When travelling in England most folks are friendly and helpful. I noticed you didn't ask or use any of the information points. Use of these may well have made life easier for you. I am English and I would ask anyone official. That's what they are the for. Hope thus helps. 😊
@@williamprice4673 Exactly ! He walked right past and information centre ! Seems to make this journey seem far more difficult than it actually was ! Taking time to read the signs would have helped a lot too. By the way it wasn’t customs you went through when you first arrived it was immigration where you scan your passport. A good idea to check the weather at your destination before you leave home !
I found London so much easier to navigate over New York but they are my 2 favourite cities in the world🏴🗽I just returned home from Japan🇯🇵The Tokyo metro broke my brain🤯
If you ever need to travel to and from London Gatwick Airport and London Victoria Station don't take the Gatwick Express as it is more expensive than other normal 'Southern' trains and the journey is almost just as speedy by them. You can then also change at Clapham Junction for many other stations including London Waterloo so depending on your destination it could be just as quick or even quicker too. You can also get a Thameslink train to London Bridge, Blackfriars, Farringdon, and Kings Cross/Saint Pancras and beyond direct from Gatwick. Again depending on your destination you may find this route more suitable for your needs.
Rivetting video. Ive lived in london 45 years but now too ill to go to see heathrow or elizabeth line. So i I really enjoyed what i wish i was well enough to see for myself!
Visited the UK first time last year, fortunately have a friend who lives there and was able to guide me through all the intricacies of using public transport. There is a lot to take in when you’ve never seen such a broad range of public transport. I will say one of the things that threw me off about using the lifts is the numbering system. It is different than in the U. S. What would be listed as a ground floor or number 1 here is typically numbered zero and anything down below that they use a negative number. I also went to Germany through Brussels and realized that is how Europe works. One of many different things you need to learn when you’re traveling abroad out of United States. I ended up traveling both directions through terminal 5 and it is much easier to get in and out of the airport through the terminal on rail.
Tip on sim cards: You can get one from local carriers in London at a shop. Carriers are O2, Orange, Virgin Mobile; shops are typically in/near shopping districts (malls or high street areas). Unless recently changed the SIM is free, you just add funds for the prepaid service (it may be called credits). This might work better than some of the online sites. I been doing this since 2009.
Just to point out that what you referred to as "Customs" is known as Immigration/Passport Control in the UK (and much of the rest of the world outside of the US). It's the part of the process that's concerned with who's coming in to the country. Customs is concerned with what you're bringing in to the country, and is the area where you choose between the red (goods to declare) or green (nothing to declare, but you may get singled out for a random search) channels.
Remember the tube lines including Elizabeth Lines take you into central London. The Heathrow Express only takes you to Paddington then you will still need to take the tube or bus into the centre.
I’m exhausted just watching this! Thank you for sharing. We head there next month and have considered getting to our hotel via train. Very informative!
An excellent video as always. Your narration is superb, just the correct amount and very clear and precise. I live in the UK but visit the USA often. Watch all your videos on your drives around the US plus your walk abouts. Look forward to many more. Many Thanks.
Quite an ordeal to get from your gate to where the train is, more than 30 minutes when adding the short wait at Customs. But at least they have customer service reps in the airport to direct you. Today I got my hair cut and the stylist was a girl whose family lives in Ireland. She goes to Ireland a few times a year. She mentioned she flies into Ireland then takes a short flight over but when she visits because she has been to London so many times she never visits London anymore. She mentioned London is expensive. Someone in the shop also mentioned you're not supposed to touch the guards at the palace just like you mentioned it in your first London video. 😀 The stylist also mentioned people use an app to pay for busses and kids take public busses to school or walk. Apparently, the app is loadable so you can add money to it.
You were lucky using T2 instead of T3 which can be a nightmare for overcrowding. T2 looked so relaxed by comparison. T5 is usually not too bad but is used almost exclusively by B.A. and just a couple of other airlines.
35:29 the EL platforms used to be used by HeathrowConnect which TFL took over in 2018. That's why the platforms feel miles from civilisation Also your comment on the long walk between the terminal and the station, the station for T2 is actually shared with T3 too and is called Heathrow Central. That is another reason why it's a long walk. If you say go into T4 or T5 they have their own HX, EL and LU stations so is much quicker
I was so excited to hear that you are in London! I am from the UK and have been watching your content for years. Can’t wait to see what you get up to in London.
Great start going with AK to London. Just saw the last video going back to US. So, thank you AK. I follow your travels, walks through NY, visiting the US on the whole etc👍🏼
It takes the time you walked to baggage claim area for the baggage to be off loaded, hence avoids the passengers all congregating around the conveyor belt waiting and waiting.
Hi Ken, The way we tip no matter where we are in the world, it’s up to you, tipping is a tip, if the service is good and you feel it’s deserved then do it? A lot of places in the UK don’t expect a tip and are really grateful if you do tip. 😊

When I was at Heathrow Airport many years ago I saw Troy Aikman who was the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. I've been to the United Kingdom twice. The first time was in 2000 and again in 2004. What I remember about our visit to a British pub is the cigarette smoke being very thick. There is another airport in London that I have been to which I believe is called Gatwick.
Smoking not permitted in pubs any longer. London Gatwick is south of London & served by trains to London Victoria or Thameslink to London Bridge, Blackfriars & St Pancras international.
The long walk is actually good for you after a long flight, because any sitting for any length of time promotes blood clots in the legs. The exercise to your legs helps prevent that.
This video from Heathrow airport brought back memories , actually the airport looks much bigger than i remember , its huge😮Thank you for sharing this enjoyable and relaxing premiere despite all the hassle at the airport and with the transportations A K🙂👍!!!

Thankyou for the guiding us through Heathrow terminal to Paddington Station. You handle the situation beautifully even with the camera in hand . This is going to an exciting journey with you. 😊
Nice video on showing us how to travel from Heathrow. Your right it's not as straightforward especially if you are from other country. Yeah calling is the English way of saying stopping and the Elizabeth line does share the same tracks as Heathrow Express. Good thing the train itself is branded and the customer service information is good. Airports tend to take long walks and Heathrow is no different. I hope you enjoy your time in London
The hotel that I booked is within walking distance of St Panrcas and Euston so I can easily get to and from the airport as well as travel outside of London. Glad I booked a hotel in that area.
OMG, the distance from the plane to the station is insane! There should be a shuttle with stations on the surface and an entrance to the underground station!
Thank you for taking the time to videotape this information. I need this information for I will be there In May 2024. I will be taking the Elizabeth line too.
Ya know, ever since I've experienced arriving at London City (LCY), I didn't ever want to use Heathrow nor Gatwick anymore. I mean at City, 15 mins was the time it took from the aircraft door to arriving at Bank Station in Central London! But I do love your high-def walk-along, it felt like I was there...suffering all of that LOL! - Red
That probably isn't any worse than flying into JFK and trying to get out of the airport on the AirTrain, especially if you're trying to get to Jamacia station to get on the Subway or LIRR. Heathrow Express and Liz Line don't use the same tracks once they're off the Heathrow spur line, once they're on the main line the Liz Line is routed onto the local track and Heathrow Express runs on the express track and gets slotted in between GWR inter-city trains so they don't hold up GWR (those green GWR inter-city trains run at 125mph the Heathrow express only runs at 110mph). They also use different platforms at Paddington, Liz Line has its own platforms with the screen doors, heathrow express shares the main platform area with GWR.
well cause of you and Noel Phillips im going to the post office next week to put in for my passport this stuff is too cool thank you for bringing the world to us :)

Much appreciated! It must have been a very different process back then
Some places that still happens
Lol. I like the journey. Feels kinda special. And you only get to do it a few times in life. Not like riding the subway or anything.
Totally agree. I was in London Stansted Airport few times and it's going way faster and easier than here. Im shocked especially that people told me that Heathrow is better than Stansted. Good to know.
Thanks for the video
Yes I loved the smell of Avgas fumes and cigarette butts. 🤣
Sorry about your trees😞
Can't agree more! Very useful for first-time visitors~ By the way, I found I can get a discount on trainpal on buying train tickets~
Found this video by chance. Its so random............. Yet so good!! Love how you did not over talk. Just some great information!! Thanks for "sacrificing your mobility" for us!! Grin. Great Video.
Your videos are allowing anyone to see the world without traveling. Your idea is very impressive. Thank you!
My pleasure!
I am going to London in May! This is helpful. I’m 64 and fit but this walk looks brutal lol😅
Thank you very much, it was rather straightforward but a long way to get there!
As a Brit, I am always ashamed about how poor the signs are in the UK for non-English speakers.
this is one of the best videos available. you answered alot of questions even for disabled people
We live here in the UK so have been to Heathrow many times but never arrived or departed from T2 so your vlog was very insightful especially as we are going to T2 to fly to Singapore on Tuesday.Terminal2 is the furthest terminal from the trains.
This is the exact kind of video o was looking for for my upcoming trip to London very very helpful because I need to visualize my journey
My brother and I are planning a trip to London for November, so this is a great video to watch to prepare myself!
Welcome to London ActionKid! We are delighted to have you!!!
Thank you for this. I loved that you included the parts where is you just learning what you have to do. The not knowing always gives me anxiety, but seeing we are all actually just learning is refreshing ❤
Wow...a beautiful journey. Well documented. Tnx4d virtual travel with you ActionKid.
The Big Bus gives a free ferry ride when you purchase a hop on, hop off bus ticket.
you know what's funny, you think it's so big, T2 is the smallest terminal at LHR 😭
@@thatvierkid What!?!? Oh wow, I'm glad we didn't have to walk that one. Especially with the N95 Masks we had on.
@@mj254 I flew to LHR with BA. they put us on the far end of T5 which is the largest terminal. i wanted to sue them for emotional distress by the time i left 😭
How long did it take you to actually get through customs?
@@theecarking LHR is an extremely efficient airport when it comes to immigration. I was flying as a Young Traveler, so I cleared with an actual officer. I was through in probably 10 minutes because everyone else was using the e-gates!
Great VDO. It make me comfort to travel alone. Thanks🎉
I rarely leave a comment on any RUclips video but I thought this video is one of the best I've seen. I've traveled to London several times but always through Gatwick. This will help with my next trip although I will be arriving at terminal 3 at LHR. Thanks for taking the time.
God bless you! I'm going this year to London and this video has helped a lot!!
Thank you so much for making this video. I am hoping to go to London next year for my very 1st time and this video was very helpful
Long walks are no problems for Actionkid. Thanks for the suggestions.
That sounds like a great walk
Will be in London this coming Sunday. Luckily I’m only taking one carry-on bag for ease of movement. Thx heaps for sharing. 👏🇦🇺
But thanks to you I have done and live some excellent memories....for example:
1. I moved from FL to NYC and your videos helped me sooooo much!
2. I have my own travel videos 😆 same as you but I am shy to upload them. Hopefully one day I'll do it.
3. So far I have been in 6 different countries due to seeing your videos in quarantine and moving to NYC.🙏🏽
Thanks!
So airplanes are flying over Kew all the time? That’s too bad.
@@bookgirlny8511 Fortunately they aren't flying directly above that area, so it's not as bad.
Thank you for the video. I will arrive in London in two days. Very helpful!!
I flew to Scotland from JFK via Heathrow last May and was lucky to see the Aurora Borealis halfway across the Atlantic
I found London so much easier to navigate over New York but they are my 2 favourite cities in the world🏴🗽I just returned home from Japan🇯🇵The Tokyo metro broke my brain🤯
great review! I've been looking for an uncut walk-through review like this, you're the first one I've seen. thank you!
So i
I really enjoyed what i wish i was well enough to see for myself!
Thank you for this as I am going soon. Do you know the name of the shop and have any other advice as this is my first time there. Thank you
Just to point out that what you referred to as "Customs" is known as Immigration/Passport Control in the UK (and much of the rest of the world outside of the US). It's the part of the process that's concerned with who's coming in to the country. Customs is concerned with what you're bringing in to the country, and is the area where you choose between the red (goods to declare) or green (nothing to declare, but you may get singled out for a random search) channels.
The full name is U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Someone being a bit precise…☮️
Pre -911 customs and immigration in the US were separate, and now they operate under one agency.
Congratulations on going to Europe!! ❤
We were just in Terminal 5 for the first time and it took us 30 minutes and lots of back and forth to find the Elizabeth line.
Remember the tube lines including Elizabeth Lines take you into central London. The Heathrow Express only takes you to Paddington then you will still need to take the tube or bus into the centre.
Thank you action kid you have kept me going through a tough work deadline and pleased to see you in the UK. Hope you are finding us hospitable.
Great informative video. Very good camera work. I took notes in the notes app for a future trip. Thanks.
I’m exhausted just watching this! Thank you for sharing. We head there next month and have considered getting to our hotel via train. Very informative!
This is the best video i have seen about how move between the airport and the city
An excellent video as always. Your narration is superb, just the correct amount and very clear and precise. I live in the UK but visit the USA often. Watch all your videos on your drives around the US plus your walk abouts. Look forward to many more. Many Thanks.
This is a neighborhood of NYC that was there way before America existed. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much!
B.A???
@@meri-ro1gp British Airways. 😊
35:29 the EL platforms used to be used by HeathrowConnect which TFL took over in 2018. That's why the platforms feel miles from civilisation
Also your comment on the long walk between the terminal and the station, the station for T2 is actually shared with T3 too and is called Heathrow Central.
I just spent 36 minutes watching your video, which I appreciate, because now I've decided to take an Uber when I arrive in London
Thank you for sharing your flight here!! Yes, Heathrow International Airport is busy like crazy many times!!!
I have not been back to London in a few years so, the Elizabeth Line would be very new for me to consider to take.
Hi Ken,
The way we tip no matter where we are in the world, it’s up to you, tipping is a tip, if the service is good and you feel it’s deserved then do it? A lot of places in the UK don’t expect a tip and are really grateful if you do tip. 😊
Thanks for sharing!

Much appreciated, I know I’m going to have a great time here
@ActionKid hope you will do one for your trip back to NY too.wi5h the train to aport then gate and when u get to NYC on
When I was at Heathrow Airport many years ago I saw Troy Aikman who was the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. I've been to the United Kingdom twice. The first time was in 2000 and again in 2004. What I remember about our visit to a British pub is the cigarette smoke being very thick. There is another airport in London that I have been to which I believe is called Gatwick.
That’s pretty cool
Smoking not permitted in pubs any longer. London Gatwick is south of London & served by trains to London Victoria or Thameslink to London Bridge, Blackfriars & St Pancras international.
The long walk is actually good for you after a long flight, because any sitting for any length of time promotes blood clots in the legs. The exercise to your legs helps prevent that.
Action Kid, I appreciated this video very much. Most helpful. Thank you.
Great video as always. Love your descriptions and tips!
This video from Heathrow airport brought back memories , actually the airport looks much bigger than i remember , its huge😮Thank you for sharing this enjoyable and relaxing premiere despite all the hassle at the airport and with the transportations A K🙂👍!!!
Nothing is a hassle for Actionkid. He makes it easier for everyone else.
They must have expanded the airport since you were last here
I’ve been once at the Heathrow when i got back from the Los Angeles in March 2020 so i’ve been experienced that train and the customs , although i went only from terminal to terminal so it’s kind of familiar to me 😎But as always i’m looking forward to this video about the other transportations etc 🙂Thank you for sharing A K🙂👍!!!
Me too, only in June and from San Francisco to Heathrow. On my way back home to the Netherlands. Two insanely big airports.
Thanks for sharing!
This was so fantastic and informative! Thank you!
Thank you for this great video, very helpful for many of us travelling from another country to Heathrow! Too long a walk through that airport especially for the elderly people! Thanks again, I hope you received a refund for the inconvenience and were able to get the SIM cards okay! Thanks again!
Climb the Monument, a spiral stair inside a column commemorating the Great Fire of London.
Awesome video . We are going to Heathrow on April 26.
Thank you for taking the time to videotape this information. I need this information for I will be there
In May 2024.
But I do love your high-def walk-along, it felt like I was there...suffering all of that LOL!

love watching cockpit views landing at City
I got a tip from a local and hired a nice comfy van to transport me. But I liked this video very much, thanks for making it!
thank you for this preview!
Thank you for this. I'm also arriving on United and heading to Paddington. You're the best ❤
Good morning / afternoon, Ken. Welcome to London 😊
Wishing you a wonderful trip. I look forward to the vlogs. Have fun, stay safe 😊
