I might be dumb, but I just noticed how the subtitles are English words: "Your name" "Would my name..." "Friend" "Thank you very much, I'm sorry, goodbye" "For an immigration... of the universe, running"

Immigration ship, I think it's the same thing as a generation ship?
Also they explained in the blog post that yeah it's an intentional font choice because the Japanese does it

"For the ‘nonsense’ lyrics, we took the text from the booklet - and mirrored it to find that it was broken English disguised as Japanese! Good luck making sense of it even then though. We have no guarantee that our ‘English’ reading of those lines are what was intended. And naturally, they don’t match the sung lines, which don’t seem to match any language. But there may be some familiar sounds in there. I definitely heard an ‘umi ni’ in there.
