Well to be fair I'm sure the bad starts aren't shown lol... but yeah everyone says the same if they find a village or some good buried treasure loot to help the start of the game.
36years old here, playing minecraft and it feels awesome, i tired of other games and minecraft gives me my childhood dreams😢🎉
What is and isn’t cheating is quite different when you’re creating content for RUclips as opposed to, say, competing in an event or speedrunning. You’re in a single player world trying to make videos for your audience, you set the expectations for your viewers and play how you want to play 😊

Yeah I don’t mind the free cam but what I do think is cheating is using the mod that allows him to see caves at full brightness without needing torches

I love the strategy of finding an igloo and getting a good early start that way. I've done the same before, but I started a villager breeder, then made an iron farm, and used a toolsmith to get exp and diamond tools before even mining a single diamond. It's so good!

In my opinion free cam isn’t cheating especially for a creator unless you are constantly using it to find dungeons mineshafts ect but it is a really useful tool
I can agree with that.
I’ve been looking for something exactly like this for a long time. I can’t wait to stay updated on your journey, and watch the series as it grows.
A couple things bro.
1. Use the beacon rule when freecamming. Basically, if you see diamonds you can't take them until you have built a full beacon. By that point you don't really need them. And they don't go to waste if you take them after that
2. Igloo - make second guy a cleric for lapis early game. You can breed villagers and enchant pretty much right away then.
3. Don't forget to grab quartz while in the nether fortress. Having the ability to mass produce auto farms right away makes a huge difference as you know.
4. Magma block river bottoms as soon as possible. Minecart/automate to collect fish for food.

I enjoy watching chill hardcore let's plays. I've gotten better at playing hardcore myself, but staying calm is still a challenge and I find it very encouraging to see examples of it in other's adventures. 😊
for some reason these are the things that put me to sleep, frick the "relaxing river sounds" and such, this is the best sound for night. amazing
I say use free cam, even take the diamonds. Ever since villagers got job tables you could have maxed out tool in the first 20 days with villager trades and zero mining it's all about what makes it enjoyable for the creator. The more you enjoy it, the more fun you have makes for better content.
I always forget villagers do trade diamond gear.
@Kairon156 oh heck yea and with the stone cutter you can also trade the andisite, granite and I do believe diorite for emeralds. Villagers are crazy powerful.
@innCidious yeah I forgot they traded for diamond stuff and I got a minimal trading set up and had diamond gear in my world in a few hours. People sometimes forget that villagers can completely break the game if you use then right

He doesnt even have any torches in his inventory. Its that a java thing? Everything is light up even without torches?
He probably has a texture pack to light everything up so that the viewers can see everything more easily
Minecraft is a game. We evacuate our stress from a hard day, we tchill, everyone should play it the way they like. Yeah sur, there will be the hardcore gamers that like more challenge or just don't have a stressful job, or studies they'll yell for tcheating, and personaly i don't care about them. I use Tweakeroo and i use MiniHud and all the mods that emprouve my comfort in the game. I'm a builder, and i like to see where i want to go with a free cam, it's like creative where we have a good perspective for building but in survival. I can't say for you if it's cheaty or not, but i see many content creators using all this comfort mods and i don't have a problem with it!

I think free cam is cool AFTER you've explored the area. Just my personal take. If you used free cam to find things, I'd kind of feel like what's the point, whether it's diamond, spawners, caves, etc. I'd rather you find that stuff on your own, and then if you want to show us through the bird's eye view of free cam, that's cool. :)

I support free cam for RUclipsrs. Sure I wouldn’t use it in a server normally, but it’s nice to see what’s available from a viewer perspective

Holy moly, this was a really great episode. Nice job Jevin! I can tell alot of work went in to this. Also the diorite blends really well with your build. It’s hard to make that block work with anything.
I play with my sound down too but I use subtitles so I still can tell if there are mobs nearby

I'm the kind of person that literally just boots up java minecraft and plays. Sometimes I look at biome maps but otherwise I just play, but it's mostly out of laziness, I have zero problem with mods or free cam especially for RUclipsrs

In my mind it's absolutely okay to to take shortcuts like using free-cam/spectator mode/online tools etc.
It all depends on what you want to do. After all, Minecraft is a sandbox game, you play it in whatever way makes it the most fun/most rewarding experience to you.
If you want to focus mainly on building, but with the restraints of survival (i.e. travelling, resource collecting, etc.), by all means, use all the tools at your disposal to locate the resources you need to accomplish your goals.
Randomly meandering around for hours to find that elusive mesa when all you want to do is building that thing is no fun at all. Unless that's what you set out to do from the beginning.
Just set some base goals and rules for yourself and use every mod, resource pack, and tool to further those goals, and please share with the rest of the class. If along the way you find that a rule you set for yourself get overly tedious or impedes what you're trying to do - rules can change. As long as you tell as what you want to do and how, I don't think anybody can legitimately complain. Everyone can play according to their own rules and set their own goals and challenges. What you, or any RUclips Minecrafter for that matter can do is provide the rest of us with inspiration and ideas and show us ways to accomplish our own goals; perhaps showcasing tools, mods, resource packs etc. along the way that could be helpful.
TL;DR Don't shy away from using mods/tools/etc, use them to further the goals you set for yourself. If you don't like it, change it - there's always the next Minecraft world.
yay a new series!! i came over from the empires crossover and am happy i found some new content creators to watch.
about free cam, use it and whatever tool and mod you want to fit your gamestyle and most importantly, whatever makes you have fun with the game. honestly to me that's all that matters. it's a game with a ton of different ways to play it and that's what i love about it, there's not really any cheating per say in this game.
just do you man! i'm here for the content, not the "rules" you may or may not set.
it's just a shame there will always be people who get mad at content creators for "cheating" as they would put it themselves.
I love the style of the house. Tip: remove your night vision and put down some light in your working spaces, it will show you where your lacking in decor. Having a creeper spawn inside is bad lol

What a fantastic start! The loot in some of those chests early on was super nice and the spawn area is just gorgeous! Love your starter house - especially the subtle contrast in the roof deepslate tile stairs and deepslate brick stairs. Looking forward to seeing more! ~Sassy~
You made a starter house away from village which if done would have been ez mode but you went creative for the builds just to explore the skill, I'd say that's way better than doing it otherwise, so my point, use of free cam is totally cool cause we get to see amazing stuffs in return, win win🏆 OP first day🤟👽

i was looking at his spawn and i was thinking "it'd be cool if that was a little town in a valley with levels and stuff," but then i thought, "it would be even cooler if each building was built by a different person/creator and they could make a series out of it, but they would all have to be build oriented creators" but then i realized, i had just recreated "Hermitcraft" in my head in about 15 seconds. 😞
I like the use of free cam cause it unlocks amazing underground areas for builds that you wouldn't have found otherwise
Funnily enough, I've started a Hardcore world myself just a few days ago where I thought to get myself an early game XP setup as well, but the way I decided to do that was set up a mob grinder because I found a spot in the world where I have this tiny bump of an island completely surrounded by ocean, which greatly minimized any spawnproofing might have needed to do around the farm set up.
Then when I dipped my toe into the nether to get Quartz, I found myself IMMEDIATELY in proximity to both a Fortress AND a Bastion, which just felt like the world was toying with me, trying to convince me to speed towards the End for an Enderman Farm instead.
I like how you showed how many hours you took for the completion of the episode. I wish to would do the same thing for the next episodes!😊

a tip, try to decorate with less windows, every wall with a window is not ideal, do a second door, a garden, a green house a outside storage or a blank wall, trying to do less windows was something that help me improve building
Love the house dude! Whenever you get to landscaping and decorating, I think it could look cool to add overgrowth to the house with leafs and maybe moss, idk, just an idea

I do feel it's "cheaty", but I couldn't care less. You're playing on your own with no one else there. As long as your having fun and giving us content when you can, I don't care what you do.
With how the game is and how much you've already played and such I feel freecam is a nice help that isn't game breaking so personally I'd say use it.
Did you know, If you build lightmatica you can Set it to Auto place the right blocks from your inventory without changing the Block in your hotbar. That would Help alot time wise If you build with LM
If I would have found that perfect little spruce house in the cave I would have probably made that my first base in the world super fun find.

For the boat. I believe when it was shipwrecked there. Maybe there was a higher sea level so it got suck. Over the 100s of years water level went down.
I don’t think it’s cheating using free cam. Also I’d collect the diamonds you would’ve probably came across them anyways. You don’t got to proof to anyone your gameplays are legit. Keep up the good work and keep doing you.

I think it's fine? I use it in my own vanilla worlds to look at my builds and sometimes to just look at caves and stuff cuz they're lovely.

I think looting is the best early game enchant trade, especially off a cured villager. Cheap to get, huge profits.
I think free cam is fair game. Helps get a different perspective and show things without having to back track all the time.
When he sped himself up when he was getting wood it sounded to nice

I never directly enchant my tools anymore, i also just gain a collection of books and put exactly what I want on my tools

Also, I think freecam use just depends on how you play. If you’re trying to gather blocks to paint with and freecam can help, that’s great. If you’re more into the adventure and discovery aspect of the game, you might feel it’s too cheat-y. But it’s up to you! I honestly don’t think it’s any different than using gamma to see in caves. I love that there are 100 different ways to play Minecraft.
I'd say use freecam. It makes it easier to get an overview of an area and you wouldn't abuse it for off camera mining. I love the style of the starter house too. I want to get better at building and make something if my own in that style
Free cam is a bit cheatie. One dirt block on a door of a villager in hardcore allows for baby zombies to break the door and get the villager. Peace
I think it's ok to look at the world with the cam like that. I really hope some day you will let us get this seed. I hope there was no villager down in that house in the cave.
All free cam really gets you is diamonds which doesn’t matter a much in the long run. So it’s great to have for utility and looking at builds. I play on 2b2t and one of the most frequent modules I use is free cam. It’s just amazing

Right at 31:35, you can see a creeper in the upper window for about 3 seconds... then you go wandering inside a minute later to plant some torches. I expected there to be an earth shattering kaboom.
