On "My Car Story" we're at Iron Gate Motor Condos in Naperville, IL on 8-19-18.
We're looking at a 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 in Black Paint. The car comes with the correct factory V10 engine and 6 speed manual transmission.
We’re talking with the Owner, Dominic Rossi. He’s had this car since 2012. Dominic remembered seeing a car like this and liking it growing up, and after not being able to afford it bringing up a family, he later when he was able to afford it, he saw this one for sale and purchased it.

This is Gen 1, but the original didn't have a trunk 🤣🙈🤦

It does have push start. Push it and put it in gear lol

I drive by this spot a couple times a week. I love seeing my dream car through the window every time I drive by. Maybe one day it’ll be in my garage. Beautiful car. Does he still have it?

I can't get over the gaps that these things have at the front of the bonnet. The guy was looking from the front and going oh god that's shiny, all i can see was how wonky the bonnet was! I understand they were built by hand but I don't know if I could put up with it

Is that one behind his yours, Lou? It looks like that hood "speaker" is the blower motor intake. Makes sense, there is no room for it at the cowl.

Remnant of the Chrysler Corporation before bob eaton gave it all away. When the viper came out I drove 30 miles to a dealer just to look at it. Got to drive one a few years later. Awesome car that pansy auto writers whined as being too basic and brutal. They never have and still don't get the viper

Couple small corrections :
- 1st gen Viper interiors were grey (not black)
- The Viper came out in 1992
(not 1996)
- Every Viper has a trunk!
- "Nothing fits in the trunk" is the biggest joke! (Take your laundry/cover out)
- Date of MFR 9-94
Your friends 1995 Viper might be a 1994
- Lamborghini DID NOT manufacture the motor.
The only input they had was
"the motor MUST be red!"

Lamborghini was owned by Chrysler when the Viper was being developed. Chrysler sent their 2 top engine engineers to Italy for 6 months each to work with Lamborghini's engineers to learn how to correctly cast an engine block and heads as long as the Viper V-10 is out of aluminum. Chrysler had never previously cast a large engine in aluminium before so they tapped into the knowledge that Lamborghini had to get it done properly. At the end of the Viper's engine Development (which was all done at Lamborghini in Italy) a total of 3 viper engines were sent complete, from Lamborghini to the USA to be put in the final pre-production vipers assembled. That's where the "Viper engines are built in Italy by Lamborghini" myth came from.
No production Viper engines were built by Lamborghini, but they DID in fact have a lot to do with the Viper V-10's Development.
one more. The functional hood vent is intake for the cabin interior heater.

You were right about the air filter, I’m talking about your question of the side airbox under the speaker, the name is fresh air plenum, (AC blower intake) 8:59.

I was very fortunate in that I was able to drive one of the pre production Vipers. It had a trunk!
We had to put the roof on because it started to rain. Didn't have the windows with us, but didn't have far to go.

Awesome Lou :*: Essentially a brand new 95 Dodge Viper. Interesting perspective from a Viper owner interviewer. I would be looking into some upgrades to get more potential out of the massive V-10. 400 just doesn't sound very impressive these days when You see turbo V-6s making that but it must have it's attributes for a Vette afficianado to be the proud owner of such a fine pristine example

All gen 1 Vipers have a trunk Lou.
The first couple of years 92 and 93 had no option for air conditioning.
......that's probably what you are remembering about what the earliest cars DIDN'T have.

My most favorite car ever I have pictures and models and driven my cousins and I have loved these from the first day I have ever seen them. I prefer red to black i.love the I interior the wheels i would have preferred the argent color than black. Too much black for me! I love yours better Lou! But beggers can't be choosers! The owner of this car has no idea about things under the hood, that air inlet from what you call the right speaker, is in fact the aircon air inlet and has nothing to do with the engine what so ever. The Viper has always had a trunk, every model even pre production. I suggest if you are going to do a review, check all you facts before you post it.
