This is extraordinary video! I'm realizing that a month prior she'd met in Barcelona with rock star, Freddie Mercury, and knew an exceptional musician/composer when she heard one .... love at first sound. Her courage and sense of adventure to do this crossover and try to meld rock and opera and enter a wider world is testament to Caballe's "wonderfulness". These two produced an amazing album of 9 original songs/arias "Barcelona" and performances that she said were a real opera revolution. This was a love story not to be missed. After Freddie tragically died (4 years later), Montserrat "Montsy" went on for another 27 years, back into opera/recitals/concerts with that unmatchable stunning voice (though she sang with some rock singers... Freddie's gift to her). Such joy to watch her strut up and down the stage and have such physical freedom from the restrictions of set opera performances. She said that the year she had working with Freddie (et al) "the most surprising, beautiful and happy moment of her life" (she was 55). God, how I love this woman!

This is such a wonderful permanent record of a superb performance not only for Montse but for all of the musicians. They and the entire audience understand what a treasure they have in their midst. She obviously understands how much they all love her. It is sad too to know and understand how unfortunate things have become in Venezuela.
