Rudrayya was the director of this movie. He made great off-beat movies. Almost counter culture types. He was not into making hit movies, but movies that he felt he wanted to make. Hence budget for his movies was very low. Since budget was low, Ilayaraja has to use bare minimum of instruments and yet he comes out with gems like this. Probably the simplicity of this song among other things is why this song is an gem. Raaja raaja thaan! :)
