    I love hearing a shoutout for the weather!
    I'm from Sweden, and can't stand the freezing winters, although snow has a charm... for about two weeks.
    Then I went to Georgia in July and realized I hate the heat as well. (I did know that before, but that visit really sent it home when my eyeballs had fully melted out of my skull.)
    So Ireland sounds more or less perfect, at least if you find one of the less rainy parts.

    • @ReigneOrShine
      @ReigneOrShine  Год назад +6

      thank you very much for watching and for sharing your experience!
      I've never experienced very cold winters in my life, but I'm sure I wouldn't enjoy the snow for many days either 😅
      Last summer we went to Spain in September and I couldn't stand the 35 degrees we had there anymore. Last years we're travelling to Mediterranean countries in spring to avoid the summer heat there.
      Here in Ireland, the temperatures are nice most of the time, the main problem is the lack of sunlight in winter and the cold Atlantic winds when they are blowing strongly. Plus the fact that the weather is totally unpredictable no matter the forecast, but if you´re patient and get used to this, Irish people often say that if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes (because it's changing all the time, haha). Wexford and Waterford are usually the counties with more sunny days and nicer summers too.

    • @Aethuviel
      @Aethuviel Год назад +2

      @@ReigneOrShine Wexford and Waterford is exactly where I've looked! 😀 Sunnier than the rest of Ireland (and we're already living for a few years in a very rainy part of Norway, so we're used to some of it), not too expensive property.
      But we're also looking to northern Spain, so we'll have to spend some time in both countries to decide. 🙂

    • @ReigneOrShine
      @ReigneOrShine  Год назад +2

      Yeah, weather is often mention as one of the worse aspects of life in Ireland, but it all depends on what we understand by good weather. If someone is expecting constant sunny days and hot summers with ideal beach weather, then Ireland is not their place. For us, the worse of the weather is that it's very unpredictable, so when we are travelling we have to be patient and adapt constantly, but sometimes we are lucky and we have seen some of the best light conditions and sunsets of over life in Ireland. Winter gets long because of the short duration of the days, but not as bad as Scandinavian countries for example. This summer for example, June weather has been lovely and July we had rain almost every day, August is bringing a little bit of both. But every summer is different.
      Best regards and thanks for watching! :)
      Hope you enjoy your life in Ireland too!

      @@ReigneOrShinewhat is the hottest temperature in ireland?
      I've seen a clip in swimsuit and it's honestly the first time I've seen a person in swimsuit in Ireland.
      Considering that they say that the weather is constantly bad, i.e. rainy and cold, I assumed that there is no real summer there and that no one goes swimming.
      But then again, we are not all the same. I can only swim if the temperature is around 25-30°C and if it is sunny. If it is cloudy and the wind is blowing, there is no way I would swim.
      As someone who doesn't like winter and has hashimoto's (so I can't stand the cold even harder) that's why I wrote off Ireland and countries like it.
      But I also can't stand the heat. 😅
      Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina where it is currently 20 minutes to midnight and 28°C
      During the day it will be up to 38°C
      Hate it!!

      @@Bea-xc7wy hello. During heat wave it can reach until 31 degrees. But normal summer temperature is 12-23 degrees. Very random. It’s Irish weather. It can even rain in the middle of summer. But when you live in Ireland, you will get used to it. Been living here for. 5 years and my body has acclimatised with the temperature. 15 degrees without wind for me will be warm already. For example, at 11pm it’s 16 degrees and I feel very warm since we don’t have electric fan at home. 😫 Also it can be because I do cold showers even during winter for recovery since I do sports. I do also ice bath so I have high tolerance to cold now. I do not like hot temperatures like in my home country anymore. 😅

    • @Bea-xc7wy
      @Bea-xc7wy Год назад

      @@ReigneOrShine oh no no, I can't stand cold showers even in summer 😅
      Maybe I would somehow get used to the temperature, but it's difficult on cloudy days.
      I am very depressed when there is no sun and I can barely survive our winter. It gets dark around 4:30, 5 in the afternoon.
      So if you work, when you get up it's dark, when you come back from work, it's dark.
      What's the winter like there? Does it get dark like here or is it different. If the temperature in the summer is between 12-23, I guess the winter is extreme haha
      Also, thank you for your reply. 🙂
      I like to learn what life is like in other countries.

      Thank you very much for watching and for appreciating our video! Really glad to know that you´re planning to move to Ireland too. I hope you can come soon.
      For the path I followed it was the following:
      1- I got my IELTS certificate while living in Singapore (where I was working as a nurse).
      2- I sent my CV to different jobs offers that I was interested in the site Irishjobs.ie, the agencies that work with those hospitals will then contact you.
      3- I did Skype interviews and chose one of the hospitals.
      4- I prepared all the papers that they asked me.
      5- I moved to Ireland and I did the exams at the hospital as soon as I arrive.
      6- I passed everything and started working immediately.
      I think that´s a good summary, I hope it´s helpful. But not all the nurses that I know here from abroad have followed the exact same path.
      All the best!

    You're a nurse! Love it! I'm wanting to study nursing in Ireland I looked at 1 uni where a 4 years bachelor of general nursing cost €37000 it's about €10000/year is a lot unless I can find one less expensive! Any advice on that? Are they all private university colleges? Or are there any government uni who's not that expensive? Thanks 😊

    • @ReigneOrShine

      Hi Fiona! Sorry I miss this comment before. Yes, I´m a nurse since 2009. I studied my degree in the Philippines and starting working there, then I moved to Singapore, where I worked for few years before coming to Ireland. Sadly I don´t know about prices here, but I know that it´s very expensive to study in Ireland, sometimes I´ve seen interesting masters or courses, but the prices are always pushing me back to study more here, 😅. For non Europeans the prices are even higher sometimes, then Dublin is currently one of the most expensive cities in the world to live. My husband work in a sports center and some of his younger colleagues are working and studying at the same time to pay for their degrees, even if they live at their parent houses. Dorms for students are expensive and they fill very fast too. Have you thought about maybe checking prices in smaller cities like Galway or Limerick? Everything is getting more expensive in Ireland, but they are still cheaper than Dublin or Cork.
      To give you an example, my husband Sports Science degree in a public university in Spain was 5000€ for 5 years and his master 1000€ for 1 year. Here, some of his Irish colleagues pay 2000€ for a 2 months fitness instructor course. Not trying to discourage you, but maybe it´s better to study in other country and then you can get hired easily as a nurse in Ireland, we are often hiring nurses from all over the world. 😊
      All the best.

      The only people who can take advantage of the low taxes are those working directly for the American tech companies I think. The rest of us are paying very high taxes, higher than other European countries sometimes, and having a small business is also taxed heavily when you start making some "good" money. The housing crisis makes it hard to buy or rent properties in Dublin and in other big Irish cities. Many of our friends who are buying their first house in Ireland are moving outside Dublin and they have to commute long time to the city to work. So it all depends on your salary and your job I suppose, maybe he meant for people making 80.000€ per year working for an American company. I still love living in Ireland, but I don´t think many Irish people would agree with him for most normal jobs 😅

    An excellent frame of mind…
    A wise person was once asked how would a person know if they were Irish… the questioner asked was it where a person was born, where their parents were born, or even where their grandparents were born, was it the fact that they could speak the Irish language or even was it that they described themselves as being Irish?
    The wise person paused for a moment, looked the questioner in the eye and with a soft mellow voice they replied…’being Irish is a frame of mind, nothing else matters’.

    Sorry, but that's not actually living in ireland with what u showing there. That's more like being a tourist here. Living in ireland is a completely different story for many here. It can be a hard life. Being dead honest.
    It can be nice living here. It's a more laid back life style. Cheaper than many other countries like France, Sweden, Canada, America. But to not be bias you should tell us a bit about the cons too. People watching your video might move here thinking life will be a fairytale and later be hit with the reality that there's hardship here.

    • @ReigneOrShine
      @ReigneOrShine  Год назад +6

      Thank you so much for watching. The title of my video is called things I LOVE about living in Ireland. And I also mentioned in the video that like in all countries, there are always going to be pros and cons but I chose to not mention the cons because I wanted to keep my video positive. Also, there are many videos online that talk about the “dark side” about living in Ireland most specially Dublin. Again, I chose not to include it here. If people want to know both the pros and cons about living here, there are many videos to watch. I never said that living here is fairytale-like. It doesn’t mean that if I mentioned 5 reasons why I love living in Ireland (for 5 years) it doesn’t mean that I don’t have things that I hate here. I have been physically and verbally abused by teenagers is just one example. But then again, I do not like staying on the negative side. I came from a third world country and I know what hard life is. I have worked in a hospital where people cannot bring their family member’s dead body because they don’t have money to pay the hospital bill. Believe me, I have seen “hard life”. And hard life is one of the reasons why I left home, no matter how heart breaking it is to be away from my aging parents. I am not comparing because like I said in all countries, there are pros and cons. I just want to keep this video optimistic because we live the life on how we choose to perceive it. I face hardships living in Ireland yet I choose not to mention it in this very short video. People have different ways on how to see life. Thank you and have a nice day! 🥰

      thank you very much for watching and for appreciating my video! I watched some of those negative videos before and I wanted to share a positive way of looking at the life here instead. We're lucky to choose were to live right now, but if we ever want to leave in the future, we will avoid bringing out negativism to this platform. 😊

    Everybody should have a homeland. A place for their nation to live and have a future as a distinct group of people. Asians have theirs. Ireland for the Irish.

      I am here because my job was offered to me by the HSE. I am not here illegally. Do you know how many Irish migrated to America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand? Imagine the locals telling the Irish to leave. Your opinion is just an opinion. You left a comment and watched my video are what matters. It will contribute to the algorithm. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! Really appreciate it. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

      You mean white people migrated to countries created by white people? Legal just means that politicians approved of it without the consent of the people they supposedly represent. Non-whites always have an excuse for being there. Your people did xyz therefore.... Nobody says that Asian or African countries need to be more diverse. Diversity is just about making white populations less white. This is not a matter of opinion. It is fact.

      Sorry to hear you had bad experiences here. We have had also some bad moments, but we don´t like to judge a whole country for a small number of people. Specially in the countryside we have often met kind people. Thanks for watching.
