Good luck finding anyone to help you catching fish here bro I’ve given out so many of my spots and anytime I ask for even a general area to fish no one will even give me anything so I’ve given up on giving my spots out
Very nice! When I lived in/spearfished Utah I always wanted to try spearing Utah lake right at the mouth of the Provo. Would have to be a rainy day to not piss off the shore fisherman though.
I primarily use a Gat-ku with a slip tip. They are one of the top of the line spear brands. It’s definitely my favorite with Evolve in close second. Yeah I recommend it but they are pricy ($350-$450). About as much as a good spear gun. If you aren’t looking to invest that much into one I would recommend getting a cheep $50 yellow one off Amazon to start with.
That’s weird how that is. I’ve heard in Europe they eat carp and consider trout a trash fish. Not sure how true that is just something a friend told me.
Right. I worded it badly in the video. I have the conversation we had in the description. I’m still getting use to talking to a camera. For some reason it feels awkward.
Nice! Yeah, being in front of a camera can be a bit unnerving, but you're doing great man. You are the one doing it, not others and we're grateful you are. Thanks for sharing. Hope to expand the number of fish allowed to spear here in Idaho. Also thanks for encouraging and shouting out the rules. Reflects well on all us spearos :) Keep it up brother! @@Hero_Spearo
Evil to some hero to others. Either way they were tasty and enjoyed by friends and myself. Yeah I don’t think they are going anywhere either. I’m fact I think most people want them in there. The biggest issue with them being in Utah lake is they will definitely effect the current numbers of the endangered June sucker. Thanks for watching!
The spot in this video is currently all messed up. The state has diverted the river and other things that have made it hard to spear. I’m hoping it’s fixed by next spring. I haven’t been out much this year but maybe we can make something happen.
That's so cool! More people need to see this video
Thanks 😁🤙
Nice shot!!! We sat down and watched this one as a family. That’s awesome getting the pike too!
What else is back there? Do you think I could catch like back there this time of year or should I try somewhere else?
They diverted Provo river since this video. I think the fishing would be extremely poor now.
Do you think parts of the provo river may be good again for this now? I want to go in the next couple of weeks!

What time of year is this? I have been thinking about spear fishing this area for a while, but the water is not usually this clear.
Spring, when the water is about 45F. They diverted the river and changed some things this year though. I do t think it would be as good anymore.
Can I ask what time of year you We're able to get water clarity like that?
That was last year in April.
@@Hero_Spearo Thank you !
Awesome! I need to start up again.

Very cool video! Just subscribed
Thanks man much appreciated. 😁🤙
Is that down by the airport?
Yeah kinda. It’s in Provo river just before the state park/marina.
what time of year were you spearing?
Spring. I believe water temp was 45F.
How far up north up prove from Utah lake have you found pike. I grew fishing these waters. Crazy to me to know there like in there now.
No more than a mile up the from the lake.
Do you generally see many walleye in the Provo river?
I have only seen a few and I have dove it probably ten times.
Looks like the area by the ropes course, cool spot!
@@chubbrock659 yeah 😅…. Thanks for the view and comment!
What kind of pole spear do you use? Would you recommend it to a beginner spearfisher?

Agree. I went the cheap yellow spear option and had a blast in Costa Rica. Whatever you do, just start!
I’m really interested in trying spearfishing here in Utah. You should maybe do a basic gear video of stuff that works for you.
@@ZebGoff that’s a great idea! Thanks! I really need to get back into the saddle and make more content. Thanks for the comment and dive safe!
That’s awesome homie
Thanks brother. Hoping they make them legal to shoot in the books soon.
How deep is that water?
8-10 foot at the deepest spots.
Good catch karl, get those pike
Thanks man! Good to hear from you!
Killer vid!
Was that a walleye or a perch around 7:20
Walleye.
Are you just snorkeling, or scuba diving?
Snorkeling. I’m told the bubbles from scuba scare the fish.
Bro you're gonna eat that carp?? Sick video homie!
I actually ended up giving that one to a friend but I ate one a couple weeks ago and they’re not bad.
Love pike. Good eating
Those were the first I’ve had. I definitely agree.
Sick man! You ever see crappie in there?
I haven’t. I’ve actually only dove it a handful of times. Thanks for watching!
I had no idea there was that many pike in the river
They were spawning at the time of this video. It should be in the next couple weeks though.
Would you be willing to come on my channel and do an interview about fishing? If so let me know and we can discuss it further
Man, where I'm from pike are garbage fish like carp.
That’s weird how that is. I’ve heard in Europe they eat carp and consider trout a trash fish. Not sure how true that is just something a friend told me.
@@Hero_Spearo to each their own I guess. All I know is pike is awful. Boney greasy and absolutely terrible tasting, but that's just me.
you should tell the fish and game to actually stock fish
He can't give you permission. He can only say it is legal. Yes there is a difference

you are an evil human being for killing northern pike they won't go away you're no hero 🤣

Lol don’t hate
@@davematt2002 why?
You don't need permission to catch and kill pike they don't belong in Utah lake.
I would pay you to take me can I get ur email if you see this that would be dope
