I always wondered, why wasn't this rebooted like Hunter x Hunter? But I later realized that this doesn't need to he rebooted.
Only the ending was rushed, everything else is perfect indeed.
So it can end up changing everything that the original had? (and for the worst) No, we don't need that. Let this classic stay as is.

Hand drawn cell animation on film I believe. Not only a higher quality of skill and money being thrown around, but the degeneration of the tape causes the colors to get a little more pastel and the line work gets blurred. It creates an artificial dream effect, that when paired with the warmer colour palette choices of the 90s, makes it very beautiful compared to the sharper edges and cooler tone colors of the 2000s. Also of course the skill well drying up and loss of "free money" that happened post japanese economic crash. And waaaay before the introduction of CGI in our anime. 🙄
Finally watched this show for the first time and I can confidently say it is one of the greatest animes of all time and completely hold up today. It deserves even more recognition than it already has
It's good but a little rough around the edges. I hope they do another series some day, and obviously the live action version doesn't count

So catchy and memorable. I discovered it by chance through a Spotify recommendation two years ago. I forgot the name of the song and searched it for so long, randomly typing "mecha mecha" on the net, but finally found it some months later. It makes me feel nostalgic for a time I didn't even live through. Didn't watch the anime tho, I add it to my watch list.

The yyh verse is underrated power wise. S class demons are a threat to humanity, and upper S class can cause world wide earth quakes.
Even then you’re underrating them, S Class demons can destroy earth, upper S class can destroy it easier

Both the Portuguese-Brazilian and Japanese versions are great. This not only applies to the opening, but also to the endings. These are really incredible songs! 😁❤
THIS, this is the reason why hunter x hunter author is allowed to take a break whenever he wants, this was a big hit back in the day, constantly in the top3 selling spots of jump (constantly competing with slam dunk for 2/3 place when dbz was steamrolling everyone)
Yeah and when he made HXH while it wasn’t as big as the Big 3 it was still an extremely popular series. The man essentially has a guaranteed spot in the magazine because Jump knows whatever Togashi writes will bring in the yen

I just noticed at 1:08, who is the lighter blonde chick w/ the purple sweater in the back? I always assumed that is a early version of Kuwabara sister. Boton, keiki, and yusuke mother are easily recognized but not sure whom the 4th is.

Oh man i remember watching yu yu hakusho in my 1st year of middle school in 7th grade back in 2002 i would watch it all sometimes after school before my karate lessons i stopped at dark tournament and spirt Detective arc now it's 20 years later i started re watching it again i now feel like i am in middle school again

When I was in a resturant the chef let me come back to the kitchen and allowed me to smell the food that was ready to sent out. A couple times my nose touched the food because I was sniffing so hard but he laughed it off and had a beautiful smile. It's one of my favorite memories
