    A question, Mike. I'm planning on hiking the CT this summer and my girlfriend would like to join me for a week or so. Are there a few sections you'd recommend, bearing in mind altitude acclimatization and accessibility to a town where we can rendezvous? (She'll be flying into Denver from the east coast and is generally very fit.) Thanks in advance!

    • @MikeWindsor
      @MikeWindsor  2 года назад

      Hey great question Chris. Everything in the San Juans is amazing, but it’d be harder to get there from Denver. Maybe your best bet would be having her join you for the Collegiate West segment. I think you can get a bus from Denver to Leadville. Then hike the collegiate west (a stunning section!). It is high but I wouldn’t worry too much about altitude if you’re both fit, just take it easy the first day. Then catch the Bustang from Salida back to Denver.

    • @chrishennemeyer7276
      @chrishennemeyer7276 2 года назад

      @@MikeWindsor Many thanks, Mike. That's exactly the idea I had, mainly because of the great scenery in the Collegiates West. The question is whether that Denver-Leadville bus is a real option. I did a bit a inconclusive research but need to look into it some more.

    Planning a hike of the Colorado trail next year and was wondering where you got your campsite info from?

      I never really planned campsites in advance. There’s plenty of spots along the trail, I’d usually just have an idea of where I wanted to go that night and look for a site as I got close. People also do often comment on the Guthook app with campsite recommendations

    Nice video of great scenery! There is a reason nothing grows up there. The elements are harsh in July. Imagine November or February. I would have liked a little more info on location by day (i.e. where you found to camp). The education videos of pack weight and gear are usually over the top; especially when they are all closely the same. But info about location and timeline is always helpful.
