I think the Sandship has to be one of my favorite Zelda dungeons. The moment of reuniting the captain with his ship brought me an incredible amount of joy.
Quin, do you know that you can replenish all your hearts by sitting on those stools? I discovered that only at the end of my playthrough because I watched a video to help me with a riddle and in the video they just sat down and began healing and I was like WHAT??? :D It takes while to start replenishing so I originally thought sitting down was only a gimmick.
It puzzles me that this was left as a surprise. Given this game's reputation, I'd have expected Fi to make damn sure we did not leave Skyloft without being aware our butt cheeks drained the earth's lifeforce through seats.
Drawing the triforce on a wall is supposed to pop out 3 fairies. Extremely useful, but also extremely hard to pull off. I'm surprised it didn't count your drawing cause it was actually pretty good
If only you could get an item in one of these dungeons that you could hold with your off-hand while you're wielding a sword, and kind of put it in the way of harm sometimes. Some wide, flat type of thing. There could even be a timing mechanic to reward using it well.
As a long time Zelda player, I highly encourage you to get a shield. The fight against the pirate on the plank is much easier when you parry him to get hits in. Just as he parried you with his hook, you were supposed to parry him back and strike while he's stunned.
@@wolfofsummerbreeze I think the 2nd upgrade for the purple shield is my favorite shield design in the whole game, with the 3rd version being my 2nd favorite.
"Now the ship looks the way it used to" Small man is actually in the present with you, safe in his area of displaced time and perceiving the ship as it actually was after hundreds of years in a dried up ocean bed. I've never picked up on that before
I just noticed that after your battle with the captain you were low on hearts. Next to the statue where you save your game, there is a little stool where you can rest. After waiting a couple of seconds, Link'll start regenerating. Because sitting... heals you... I guess? Just as an info for the future :)
"Hooooly shit he's so cool-looking!...I don't like his drill-hand...a little too-aaooohhhhhe'srunningrightatme. Ummm...uuuaaaahhh...BLOW HIM!" 😂😂😂😂 Quin a natural born comedic genius ISTFG!!!
Quin there's a purple shield that doesn't have the weaknesses of the other two and repairs itself over time you can buy it in skyloft. It might help in fights like certain captain pirates XD.
"I'm doing a murder" Great English Quin 😂 Also Quin! Tip! You can sit on stools to heal! Also also, someone needs to get a plush robot for you Quin, Christmas or birthday but you need one 😂💕
Yo quin gondo upgrades ur shields and items and stuff. It’s really worth it. Also a shield would have definitely helped with that mini boss who clapped ur cheeks lmao
If you draw something wrong, it always gives you three hearts. Start with the left side from the top, then draw half the bottom, then the inner triangle, then continue the bottom and right side.
For the goddess walls, if you draw the triforce in a specific way you'll get a reward that's not hearts but is super helpful! Also if you click the left switch controller while your shield's out you can shield bash which is SUPER helpful in later fights
If you're ever in need of hearts, you can sit on those little stools and benches that are scattered everywhere and they replenish your hearts if you wait a bit !
Having a shield makes so much of these battles, especially the pirate captain, easier because you can parry attacks. And if you have a guardian potion upgraded twice you never have to worry about a broken shield
tip with the skyward strike wall painting things, if you draw an arrow, bomb, heart, etc it will give you a lot more of that item. This is good for hearts because it gives a lot of them
6:08 I completely agree. I don't understand why people hate this game so much. Yeah I get that the motion controls can be frustrating, but the game itself is so good. Plus the HD version has button only mode, so thats not even a problem anymore. It has a great story, unique mechanics, fun gameplay, and is important to the overall story of LoZ since its the first in the timeline. I wish more people would give it a chance instead of just automatically hating it for being different. I feel like one of the main reasons a lot of LoZ fans dislike it so much is because they liked the old games and this is different from what they're used to. But when this happens to be one of the first LoZ games you play and/or you don't come into this game with a preconceived bias, you can enjoy the game for what it is instead of just comparing it to the rest of the games.
Quin the tiny little chairs/stalls are overpowered, just sit on them to slowly gain all your hearts back so you're not going around with like 4 hearts all the time.
You can PARRY Quinn. Please buy a shield and parry, it'll make combat so much easier. Especially for electric enemies like the bokoblins (just no iron shield lol). Just parry their attack and then go nuts with your sword XD Same for the captain, you could've blocked all this attacks then go nuts on him. Just time it well :)
In this episode of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, quin fights funny crab men, dies from a gate for 4 minutes, misses *positive infinity* arrow shots, activates massive galaxy brain, and laughs at a traumatized pirate statue that was kept in a jail cell.
yeah bro, get you a lil green man nap. the 2nd round had my body sore the next day, but after that you’re good 👍 Zelda is as good of a remedy as any. 3:26 bahaha I did that for like 5 mins like “ok something happen” 🤦♂️ also, those little stools you sit on will replenish your hearts
When the vaccine throws hands it can really make you feel tired and when it REALLY wants to throw hands, it can give you other symptoms too, so hope you’re taking it easy Quin and that you don’t get other symptoms
Yep, 4 of the 8 people in my office where sick, one for a week, another was hospitalized over night. Shouldn't have all gotten it at the same time I guess.
Scervo, I think that's the pirate captains name, IS tough at first. He catches you off guard with his pattern at times. It's even worse without a shield, Quin. The thing that can parry attacks. Though I suspect you probably know that. (It's kind of weird you are literally ignoring half of the combat system, but fair. We'll see if it works out later on.) Also yeah. I think this might be the latest point in a Zelda game where the Bow is an item that you get it. It's a relief when you do.
Oh my god I just realized that Quin is 100% not going to use a shield at all... Quin... you have managed to float along without a shield for this long, but every boss after this is going to NEED a shield. You can buy one that will replenish it's health over time, and then UPGRADE it at GONDO'S to make it stronger. *ahem* UPGRADE AT GONDO'S IT MAKES EVERYTHING 10X BETTER STINKY.
Btw, those foot stools you see everywhere? Stinkus can sit on them to slowly heal. Just so you can get out of those hairy, half a heart situations. I’m happy to laugh at your panic though if you prefer

@QuinBoBin you always get hearts if the game can't work out what it is that you've drawn. I drew an arrow from one side of the drawing area to the other very clearly an arrow and hey, guess what I got? Yup ... Hearts... is my drawing that bad 😄
