    Juan Serrano es un verdadero Maestro del flamenco. Tiene un dominio perfecto de la técnica flamenca y del aire que se le debe dar a esta música.

    Amazing, Juan's got that great timbre you could hear on here. That duende that only the really greats have. A catagory 5 hurricane of a flamenco guitarist. A monster by all means. 'FOREVER GREAT JUAN SERRANO'. JUAN SERRANOS' BIGGEST FAN.

    As a student of Juans for many years, I have to say his teaching was more than just licks and tricks.

    I absolutely love his playing but possibly even more so is his endings, particularly this one which builds up to a full on fiery crescendo!!

    They don't have to be that long, ideally you want them to outline your finger (some fingers need longer nails, like the pinky). It's really up to the player, but you have to smooth them out so they don't catch on the strings, it makes playing a lot easier.

  • @ThePrimordialBeing

    Not necessarily, there are lot of factors that make guitar good, but of course wood quality is just as important as its age and the construction of the guitar. But the other factor that influences the quality of sound is how often and intensely it had been played - it may get worn out in the wood-grains after many years of playing. The better the production, the longer it takes to exhaust its spirit. :)

    Hey what bout PACO DE LUCIA's

    • @teddylopez509
      @teddylopez509 7 лет назад

      Juan was one of Pacos' big big idols. Paco is Paco and, Juan is Juan. Juan ofcaurse had his own style and, came up with his own techniques and, was the first flamenco guitarist to earn a doctors' degree in music and, he was the only one using his pinky finger on his right hand in the arpeggios, alot of guitarists still can't do that one. Juan also came up with a more sophisticated rasguedo which he started with the pointer finger on his right hand. It gave yiu a fuller effect. There was also Sabicas before Juans; time who was another great one who had his own style andm played clean. When it comes to all-time greats like Sabas, Juanito Serrano, Paco De Lucia, it' always hard to compare the greats, I understand that apples and oranges thing now, it depends who's style you like more then. There have been quite a few real good ones since Paco too. Sabicas and, Juan stood old school but, Manolo Sanlucar and, Victor Monje Serranito played some of the new school too, that Paco introduced. So Paco was Paco and, Juan is Juan. It's hard to comare the greats. Like I said, today there are so many because of all the access they have for learning the flamenco guitar, you could learn some on the internet. There is so much mire to learn from now than say when Sabicas was a young guy. That's why you gotta give alot of credit to a guy like Sabics and, those pioneers. Like the Billy Joel song 'WE DIDN'T START THE FIRE'.

    He doesn't hold his guitar the traditional flamenco way. Not even a support (he simply seems to be holding his guitar). Anyone know more as to why he does this?

    • @the61919
      @the61919 5 лет назад +1

      Genus Tinca this is traditional position the modern way is with the leg crossed how Paco de Lucia adopted that position. Juan is very very traditional he’s always played his guitar in the traditional position
