I really like how the difficulty is increasing. Some of your older pieces feel a bit empty because they have been simplified too much but these newer ones are starting to get better. I know you're trying to keep it simple so people can actually play it (lol) but sometimes i feel like the left hand octaves just aren't enough as they don't let us here the unique scales that a lot of the songs use. I really like the way animez and Theishter add arpeggios to "fill in the gaps". Example: theishter took magalovania (ruclips.net/video/ZcoqR9Bwx1Y/видео.html) and he added a lot of extra stuff (arpeggios that are played so fast that its hard to keep track of when notes begin and end, which is a good (and impossible to play) way to imitate strings and ambient pads on a piano ) while still keeping the feel of it (ruclips.net/video/SWKR0BzL_z0/видео.html) I also have the sheet music to theishters version if you want it, because his website is down
Someone You're right that i've been trying to keep the difficulty down by trying to make sure that only one hand is complex at a time, as the biggest complaint on my channel is that people can't play it (you're the 2nd person ever that's said the arrangements are too simple!). However, there's a reason I don't add the filler / extra stuff that you usually hear in those pianists' arrangements, which is that I try to keep my transcriptions as accurate as possible to the notes that can actually be heard in the piece, avoiding adding extra things like that on purpose. This style of transcription may not be the flashiest or most complex looking/sounding but I think it can actually end up being more complex to play than the "filler arpeggios". I also tend to prioritise the drum parts in pieces with driving percussion (most pieces that I transcribe), which I do with the left hand octaves. Therefore, I apologise for the disappointment in that my transcriptions may not live up to the stylistic conventions heard in other big channels' covers. In saying that I have been tempted to make a "master" or "challenger" difficulty version of Taliyah. If this goes down well it may happen to other pieces I've done.
Yeah the intro of Taliyah was what i was referring to when i talked about stuff feeling empty, how the high notes are sometimes played and sometimes not. I think what you do is awesome, and after learning parts of taliyah's login theme, i tried replacing the left hand with some faster arpeggios but it sounded a lot worse without the percussion to hold it together, but then again i still felt it needed something more but i have no idea what. It's really hard fitting a whole orchestra onto a single instrument if even possible D;
The composer is so amazing. With all the Asiatic inspiration for Ionia, they took the pentatonic scale that is so often used in traditional Eastern music and created this beautiful piece from it. Just awesome.And an amazing transcription:)
These covers are sooo well done. I may be able to convince the maestro of my school orchestra to let us play this (of course an edited version). Aw mah gawd this deserves an instant subscription!!!
I found your channel when I searched for Irelia login piano. I just covered this arrangement and it would be nice if you can check it out! Your channel got some really nice stuff. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing the sheet!
Hey there, Thanks so much for the cover! To be honest, when transcribing, I assume that the pieces are out of the ability of most of my audience (myself included) so to see someone successfully play my arrangements, especially what I've rated as the third hardest piece on my channel (and learnt so fast as well) is really helpful for me as a composer (or arranger in this case)! Do you have any feedback about the playability and practicality of the arrangement? Either way I hope you continue playing these as it's truly very helpful for me (and disproves all the people saying they're impossible haha)
Haha I actually found the 5-hour video of you transcribing first, and I heard that you said not many people are gonna download the sheet because it's too hard and no one will actually try to play it. I like challenge and that's when I told myself challenge accepted! Btw, I haven't had time to fully explore your channel. What are the first two hardest pieces? :O It's a hard piece for sure, but definitely playable (well I played it so what else could I say about the playability haha) The part that gave me the most troubles and took me the most time is actually the irregular pattern of the left hand part on the second page (measure 43-58). To play the entire piece at full speed, basically there's no time to think what the next notes are and I have to memorize most parts of it. You can see that I still need the sheet when I recorded but it's only there for quick lookup. When I first learned the piece, I tried to follow your arrangement exactly, but when I got to that part, it's kinda hard to memorize the pattern of left hand, *especially when I try to combine and coordinate left hand and right hand* . The following part is my _personal opinion_ . I didn't watch the entire video of you transcribing and you're a much more professional arranger/composer than I am in the first place. I guess you probably wanted to add some variations to left hand, but I feel that doesn't help much because you're still using root and fifth notes mostly. On the other hand, the irregular pattern makes that part unncessarily complicated to play. Eventually, after I already spent some time trying to memorize and get used to it, I decided to come up with a pattern that's easier to memorize so I can actually coordinate my both hands and brain, and play at full speed. It took me some time to adjust, and you can notice that I still struggled a bit in my cover.
Well out of 15k views you're one of only 177 people to download the score so I still don't think that's that many haha (especially on some pieces where I have done the solo melody sheet music for other instruments, often the flute or violin download count surpasses piano). The first two hardest pieces (in order) are the non simplified Camille (which I think is pretty much impossible unless people spend like a month practicing it; feel free to prove me wrong though as the main challenge is LH leaps very quickly between different octaves while sustaining fast staccato quavers) and Jhin (where the main challenge is the violin solo). An arranger who arranges things that are supposed to be played by humans is garbage if the thing they arrange ends up being not playable well by humans, so all of your feedback such as this is valuable, especially because I can't play the pieces myself (unless i practiced like a month each but then I wouldnt be able to get them out on the same day the track is released)! My rationale behind all transcriptions is to stay as close as possible to the original and leave out no detail, and whenever there are left hand 5th chords like that I am usually trying to imitate the percussion part, the rhythm of which I will transcribe exactly, hence the non constant pattern. Usually when I do learn pieces I take like 3-4 weeks because I'm slow and memorise the whole thing anyway but I can see how this is hard to memorise - in fact this is very useful information for simplified versions as I usually kept the rhythms and just simplified the chords in those, so thanks!
I checked out Camille and Jhin arrangements. I'll tell you your arrangements are definitely playable, and what you're doing is amazing so there's absolutely no reason to call yourself a garbage arranger. I don't mean to "prove" anything. I play music because I like it, but not because I want to show something is playable. There are many other things I want to play and I'm not particularly interested in Camille and Jhin themes (I love your Taliyah and GGMF arrangements btw), so those won't be on my priority list (to practice and reach the level that's worth recording). However, if you want to make sure your arrangements are playable without spending crazy amount of time practicing, I might be able to record the parts you mentioned the next time I get to play piano.
Glad to know that they are definitely playable! Sorry if I was trying to push those arrangements too hard on you, I definitely didn't mean it that way, I just get keen whenever someone actually records themselves playing my arrangements as it's few and far between haha. Don't worry about recording them if you don't want to, just good to know that they are doable and hope you enjoy playing whatever arrangements you choose to!
I am already planning my schedule around when I think the new champion theme will be released. Expect to see all forthcoming champion and champion update themes on this channel within a few days max after their pbe release.
What about the awesome part at the end? the first time i heard it i thought it would all just be weird void sound effects and stuff, but i listened till the end and it becomes a lot calmer and has a really beautiful piano and strings part (probably representing her escaping the void and coming to earth) ruclips.net/video/ZUTS2kXjFHM/видео.htmlm11s
I will be doing The Climb but no plans for the other two. This will be after GGMF and Irelia simplified. It will also be after Swain, which got an unexpected number of requests (more than I expected there would be when it came out, which is why I skipped it initially) as well as DJ Sona Kinetic which has been highly requested ever since Ethereal. Also there are no such thing as quick transcriptions lol, when I do a quick one (Legends never die took like 4h from start to video which is considered quick) it becomes not accurate enough
I have just pmed you on Patreon. I deeply apologise for the delayed response and inconvenience. I also won't be able to respond again for the next 7 hours from now on as I'm going to be sleeping.
Jhin The Virtuoso I will be going back to Swain probably in a bit over a fortnight. I prioritise new login themes so if I miss one on release and then it becomes highly requested it will come much later. I apologise in advance for the wait.
There will be over a month wait for this due to higher priority requests (eg Patreon requests and highly requested new transcriptions), but it is definitely in progress (I have already started) - I intend to make simplified versions for all transcriptions above Diamond level (apart from pieces like Jhin where it is impossible to simplify without losing the essence of the piece)
Hey mate, the description reads "A solo piano transcription of the Gun Goddess Miss Fortune login screen theme from League of Legends." Awesome stuff as always, though.
