This is the best sports show out right now because these three compliment each other. Their energy goes together. Other than Nicks bizarre takes at times
Nicks takes arent bizarre he knows what he’s talking about overall he’ll just reach far to make a point but he does have evidence in support of his arguments. But you are right these 3 have complimenting personalities that make it the best sports show on right now but it’s not the takes it’s Nicks ego that makes and breaks the show at times.
This show is so different from the Undisputed 2.0, which ran today. These guys don't yell and scream, and they listen to each other and they do compliment, as well as complement each other.
I agree with Nick to this extent. Both can be true:
Kyle Shanahan is a good coach and SF has a great roster so in terms of winning, they’re not a failure.
But you cannot tell me this pick of Lance and the plan was not botched. You cannot tell me the year Mahomes and Deshaun came out in the draft, they take neither of them
Overall, not getting QB right has held SF back from getting a ring. Don’t believe me? They literally lose the SB because Jimmy G can’t hit a throw in the redzone
@@jamesdowdy5239that's not why they lost...
@@jamesdowdy5239they moved up at the time they did because their roster was too good to be in a position to trade high in later years, which was true. They took a shot on a guy they liked, but he was raw. He broke his finger, he lost alot of good practice and reps from that alone. Then he broke his ankle, lost plenty of reps with that. Now hes still a 1round pick in his 3 year with a decent cap hit. He hasn't had the time to progress, and they have other players they need to pay Like bosa. For them to pay him to simply sit behind Purdy doesnt make sense, especially when they have a window to actually win now. And Purdy put out great Tape, is on a rookie deal aswell, although they might need to pay him sooner since he went undrafted. Simply put he wasnt good enough for them to pay the cap him, and he got alot of unlucky breaks the hindered his progress

Tons of factors in an NFL season... but still.
I hope Purdy turns out to be that guy for them... it's a good story for the league and has historical precedent.

My problem is Trey Lance barely played😂💀 Every player says Practice is different than real NFL games. We didn’t see enough
I think you forget that he Barley Played in HS and College. I watched him play at college, it’s not the lack talent/ability, it’s just not playing he only has 519 attempts in his entire football career (HS, college, and Pro). I understand the the thought process and the upside with 30-1 TD-INT ratio in College in 318 attempts (I will note this is FCS). I think the only reason Jerry Jones did this is something he can use in extension negotiations, cause even as a Packers fan I think he would have had the best chance of playing for the Vikings.
U wont see him play with the cowboys unless dak gets hurt and even then hes behind their other guy! Hes still 3rd string
You are correct... as is @MRkriegs ... it happens that way though... you can't take Purdy out at this point. and if Darnold actually beat him out in camp... it seems the right call.
Yes he didn't play I agree but do you know coach made him number 3 because of practice because in game Lance I would say was ahead of the competition sam played all games last year Lance hasn't played since the second week you would think the coach would wait untill last game to get him settled down. If Sam could win the starting job in practice, it would be unfair to say Sam is not the starter. Purdy threw a lot of pick 6s during practice
Trey would have played more if he was good.
If Lance is the backup in SF, then the question is any time Purdy has a bad week “Is it time for Trey?”.
That doesn’t go away when you draft a kid at 3. Cut him loose, Darnold is not a starter and concentrate on winning games.
This is a win for everyone, now, but from a draft perspective this was a massive & ongoing loss for SF.

Nick's faith in Trey Lance even though he never proved anything is beautiful, find someone who believes in you like that.
Why do people keep saying stuff like this? It's not faith in Lance, it's utter confusion at the Niners for botching the situation like they have. Nobody knows if Trey Lance is good; everybody knows the 49ers have no idea what they're doing at quarterback.
@@Freddie7191 The Niners staff have an idea if he's good or not, which is why he is now in Dallas

Sigh I hate when y’all miss the point

@@jaywilliams4770 Nobody missed the point. People don't remember the context of the 49ers decision. They were being crushed for having a SB roster, but a QB that could not get them over the line. Shot out to Chris and Nick for their great analysts skills 💯💪
They are making this too big of a deal. Timing is everything and Purdy stepped in and handled the moment. Not to mention, Nick isn’t mentioning how nobody who has seen him is impressed. Terrible idea to trade all that to draft up to get him but you can’t fault anyone for realizing the mistake and moving off of it
I don't think that he's saying that they shouldn't have moved off of him, but it was the fact that they traded so much to go up and get him that is the problem
And Nick saying they forced Jimmy G out! This dude has talked smack about Jimmy G for last 4 years!!!
You can't blame the 49ers for the bad pick, bad picks happen all the time and it's just kind of random. The way they handled Trey Lance is what's so egregious. He couldn't have gone from week 1 starter material to worse than Sam Darnold, so either the 49ers were wrong about him last year, or they're wrong about him now.
Who said he was week 1 starter material last year? They were giving him a chance cause they spent so much on him, they had to at least give him a try..and he played terrible and broke his leg. There’s nothing he does, that Sam darnold isn’t better at
Gms and coaches who draft QB busts that high are usually fired. Yes we can blame them for the bad pick. They didn’t just make a bad pick they traded away other picks to make a bad pick, that doesnt happen often.
If players were a fixed product that the day you drafted them they stayed the same then you might have a point. But development is a large part of the game and the 9ers failed at that. There’s plenty of blame for the 9ers
Nah 3 first round picks
They sold out to draft a guy with minimal experience and did nothing to help develop him. Why shouldn't they be blamed?
He demanded a trade… I think everyone is forgetting that
I don’t understand what Nick is arguing. There’s no denying they botched the Trey Lance pick, but clearly they wouldn’t have moved on from him if they thought he could offer something to them. Let it go, they are still in good shape despite their failure with Lance
Exactly purdy and darnold are a better fit for our offense that’s why they stayed
I means that's literally the question they have to answer though lol.
@@StephaunLovelace But they keep asking the same question over and over when the answer is really simple. I know that’s just TV but this is getting ridiculous
They recognized their mistake in the draft and realized it wouldn’t work and moved on as quickly as possible. They’re taking their medicine early so they can rebound more quickly from this. Nicks planting his flag in Trey Lance and its really bizarre.

@@MeBihhhh if you don’t have the critical thinking skills to figure out why that stat is relevant, I can’t help you.
Yes...Nick really said "glory hole" on national television lolol.
Anyone who thinks Lance could eventually start hasn’t listened to former players and coaches talk about how Lance can’t even read the simplest defense that they teach to kids. The only reason they traded for him is because they are trying to negotiate with Dak. My advice to them, which was the same advice before they paid Dak, is find a decent rookie QB or trade for one.
Bro! Their faces @00:26 are hilarious
Chris Broussard . -- this man is worth his weight in gold !
Say what you want about Nick Wright but he nails it here. The 49ers made the single worst draft trade in history and demonstrated significant failure in QB development
That's false. There have been worse trades
Name one where more draft capital was traded for a player given up on as quickly as Lance and then traded for a late round pick@@FaceFamous
I see Nick is on track for his ‘23 humility goals 😮
So take it as a lesson that great organizations make mistakes. SF makes QB mistakes, NE makes WR mistakes, and on and on it goes. Roster building is not as simplistic as simplistic minds think it is. Regardless, if I was a SF fan I'd be thrilled with how it turned out. Same in NE with the two rookie WRs. The guesswork works at times, and it's just part of building a roster that tends to every position group, not just fantasy favorite groups.
This might be the best show on rn

My man sherm can't get a word lmao
I don’t blame the niners for picking purdy first, but why even bring darnold in? Niners fans help me out what went wrong
Purdy is a pocket passer with minimal mobility and excellent game manager skills. Lance is none of that, but had the potential to be special e.g., like Fields or Lamar. They play different styles with different offenses. Darnold is much more similar to Purdy than lance is, even if he doesn’t have a high ceiling
Im not a fan I like philly I know y'all don't wanna hear it but no qb on sf roster is top tier. I don't wish injury on NOBODY I played but if purdy get hurt a high pick 9-14 would do 49ers justice. a bad season for a high pick with a stacked team ain't a bad trade off even though key players get hurt i.e kittle and cmc

The people who developed Dak aren't there anymore? I underestimated how much Nick Wright liked Trey Lance in the draft to fully turn on the Niners and back the Cowboys.
Remember, these same experts, will say “if you have two quarterbacks, you have none”. So the 49ers decided to go all in on Purdy and not have the distraction with Trey.

With all due respect, this is the show that brings us the most Kevin Wiles.
Pistons won an NBA championship after drafting Darko Milicic. That doesn't mean the pick wasn't a complete disaster. Because how many would they have won if they had picked a real player? So yes, this is a disaster by the 49ers in every way.

Nick is so right on this
I love Nick but his 9ers opinion is completely centered around how he feels they made HIM look. Whether he’s right or wrong he wants to bury the 9ers for making him look dumb about Lance
Brou has to realize NO ONE takes jerry seriously. He’s 90 and kind of just putters around the facility talking to the first person he sees.

I love y’all show! But I want to say this! What got Trey Lance traded was that he wasn’t available for the NFC championship game after missing 13 weeks!
I hope this ends the era of dropping multiple first round picks on any player, much less a mostly unproven one.
Multi pick spending should be reserved for swapping pros and veterans.
Dallas has no bad contracts lol. Love it.
🔥
For the three first round draft picks they gave up, they could’ve traded for almost any QB in the league not named Burrow, Allen, Mahomes, Hurts, and Herbert. I guess they thought Lance was one of those guys.
I'm a Cowboys fan and trading for Trey wasn't even my radar of things I thought the Cowboys would do. I will say though, I'm super happy for the kid. It seems like San Francisco is an amazing place to go if you're anyone BUT a quarterback, so I'm happy the kid is out of there. I don't care what happens from here, he could never play for the Cowboys and get traded maybe, but I'm just glad the kid has a chance to develop without risking career ending injuries due to protection schemes.
The 49’ers ego is good tho. They view Purdy as the 3rd overall pick and lance as the 7th. Instead of they lost all this.
Not checks note😂😂😂😂
The 49ers, 100% messed up. They should have letthe season go on, let the drama ensue and trade him like week 12 or 13. Yes they cold have got so much more.
They got him to pick his brain for a future match up with their nemesis, 49ers in the playoffs
As a 49er fan I'm still upset we never picked Justin Fields.
Purdy is having arm difficulty now he was limited at practice
I was just thinking about how they'd said he could potentially miss the season, a little after last season ended - and wondering if he'd really not be affected.
@number3stunner118 you think trading Lance will bite them in the behind or do you think Sam Darnold will be really good with Shannon lol
@@jorgecortez505 I think they may already have been bitten by their decision to trade up for Lance's pick.
I think they could've kept Lance and gotten more if a team got desperate during the season... but based on recent history, THEY might be desperate for another QB during the season. If you really think about it Lance lost a year, because he got injured so fast, and couldn't at least practice. It's possible they could've still used him.
Darnold, I think he'll probably be solid if they're healthy otherwise - if it's for a short stretch, or not against serious defenses. But if they need him for long, he'll probably fold or maybe even get injured, too. I haven't seen anything but highlights, but he didn't seem bad there.
