- by request, here's a video about making your mirlitons less buzzy- or raspy-sounding.
please experiment with different materials to find what works best for you, and be careful when you poke holes in tape or paper - poking too deeply could puncture the membrane and (temporarily) ruin your instrument. - Приколы
I found a totally easy way to make a kazoo sound smooth and mellow. That is, replace the membrane that is already there with two layers of scotch tape, taped together face to face. Just trace out a dime onto that, cut it out, and put it in the kazoo.
Good idea, I´ll check this out
huge thanks for that video! i'm looking forward for more kazobo videos or even for some 'mouth trumpet' tutorials. the growl is actually what i dig for
Thanks for tricks. Kazoo sound very good with tape!
Thanks for sharing, this was really useful!
Yeaaah man!
Killer turorial
Best regards from brazil
Fascinating . I think the plastic one w/ mutes sounded the best. I wonder where you can get one.
Amazon
Badass.
I only clicked to see if his kazobo was as loud as it is in the commercial.
How to change the rings inside the instrument
I don't suppose you know if the metal kazobo's are still in production, or where i might be able to get hold of one?
Ever find one??
You can easily find plastic and metal kazoos at any music shop ? But if you mean kazobos ive never seen one

Use a paper hole punch in the black tape. It won't reseal. Also If you want a smaller hole then hobby lobby had hole punchers that punch smaller holes, with different shapes

Try gelatin paper next time and thank me later.
He not blowing it from the right side?
No, he is playing via the correct side, though many others incorrectly use the small side as the mouthpiece (as much as it makes sense to do so).
