"If you don't hear the sound make sure your TV is on"
If you cannot see make sure your eyes are open.
If you're homeless just buy a house
Why is nobody mentioning the obvious?? TVs for decades have come out with 3.5 mm audio jacks as standard. We have smart TVs now but we can no longer use headphones? How moronic is that??
Oakley Sin THIS!!!
I've been trying to get headphones for my fathers Samsung TV and it's nearly impossible. Only thing he has is a digital coax audio out, optical, and HDMI out. This limits me extremely when trying to find something to hook up earphones. Can't use any analog in and needs to be a high end soundbar with optical inputs and none of those I can find have a 3.5mm aux out. I'm almost to the point of telling him he needs to sell that TV and buy another one because it'll be cheaper than all the stuff he'll need to buy to get a $20 pair of earphones to work. It's upsetting how difficult this has been and the hours of time I've invested in trying to do such a simple task.
I am having the same issue with my mum...
@@terrimary6320 and Taylor - go to Amazon and search for iLiv wireless TV heaphones, it comes complete with all the necessary adapters to hook up to any TV, I'm just trying to find out how to hook these guys up to a TV that has no "headphone jack". They come with digital coax audio out, optical and HDMI hookups. They cost about $75, but very much worth every penny. Make sure you buy the warrantee with the product, they are only guaranteed for 90 days, then you have to go to the manufacturer for any problems. This company is EXCELLENT, they really take care of you and you can call them for just about anything having to do with these headphones. Its spelled iLiv wireless TV headphones, a company by RCA.
Absolutely!
if there is ANALOG audio output why not just use headphones directly to a cable adaptor RCA-3.5 jack, like the one you used here?
Thanks for sharing I might try this later. My LG TV only has optical plug. No Headphone Jack. I tried a very complex system which included like 3-4 different cables with different plugs / adapters and in the end after a month of research and studying all the parts I finally got the last part. And.... the sound was absolutely horrible. I was only able to return half of the stuff because some of it wasn't covered for return. This is so dumb I mean why would you make a TV without headphone jacks? I don't understand. The TV is modern, has multiple apps like netflix, amazon and good internet connection but no bluetooth and headphone jack? The hell man? Seriously why? Now I'm considering selling it which is another pain in the ass on top of the previous one. If I had know this I would have never purchase that stupid TV.
Hey I also have a LG TV that is really stupid. It does not even have optical jack!? No damn thing, except for AV
Why they remove jack audio ?
Can you cofirm that you can use a "computer sound bar"?
Thank you very much for sharing the knowledge.
it doesnt work to my tv..i used computer speaker..
Hi! Thanks for this. I want to add Bluetooth to my TV. Will a Bluetooth transmitter work connected to the RCA audio output jacks on the TV?
The audio 3.5mm jack of my Samsung TV has damaged because of this I actually can't connect the home theater to the TV. Is there any alternative for audio out so I can connect a home theater.....
My Dad is hard of hearing needs headphones (hearing aid accessories and blue tooth hurts his ears too much echo). I am THRILLED I could plug in his favorite headphones using good old reliable "wired" technology. Because Dad sits 10 feet away I did get a 10' headphone extender braided good quality. Mom sits next to dad and wants to hear the TV at normal volume. Seemed impossible right? Not so heres how I did it .. but first let me preface they have an older Samsung TV, no Optical out, no Headphone Jack or USB ports. (Best Buy Tec mistakenly identified the service port as a headphone jack port but it didn't work). Went to one of those PC repair stores and bought speakers with a volume control and headphone out jack(both very important) .Connected the RCA to female adapter shown in this video to the cable box (not tv) (must do this is you have cable connected to your HTMI port on TV. Next, you need to plug in your pc speakers (tried plugging in headphones at this step thru did not work). Only thought the headphone out jack on the pc speakers do the headphones actually work while allowing the TVs internal speakers to keep sound. So Dads headphones have the volume way high from the pc speakers to old headphones while Mom can control the volume on the tv like always with her remote. Its perfect! If you unplug the headphone then you hear the pc speaker (in our case very loud since its turned up for dad). Showed my mom how she can switch between internal speakers to pc speakers just by unplugging the headphones. Spent $30 and have two happy parents!
Nice video, i'm opting for the pc speakers. Just ordered them. But i do wonder something. Does the quality of the speakers matter? Or is it pretty much just being used as like a pass-through or amplifier? Hopefully it will just come down to the quality of my headphones.
sir can ask there difference male rca to male audio jack and that on your video tutorial
have this it seems to me that we are being forced into buying more gear which will end costing half of what we paid for the TV
WOW this was helpful😃❤️
Thank you for your excellent videos, TechmanZ!! I already have a Bose sound system connected to my TV, so would you please suggest an amplifier for simply lowering & increasing the volume as currently, I can barely hear with my headphones hooked up via RCA ports. Thanks in advance!!
I got cordless headphones for my dad that needs wire to connect to the headphone jack. Problem is the headphone jack is now faulty. So wondering if I can use an RCA adapter to plug into the headphone charging dock. i guess i will have to give it a try....or get a cheap sound bar and do what u have done
this seems awfully expensive to watch scooby doo at 2 AM, id rather play it without the headphones on max volumes with everyone asleep and grumpy af then buy all this for it to *maybe* work
will this work with jbl bluetooth speakers?
Is it possible to connect the audio cable of a soundbar directly into a Tv's audio jack without any need for RCA cables? Thank you.
what if you don't want to use a sound bar or PC speakers? I have a good set of headphones but the TV that was given to me has no "headphone" jack in the back of the TV. How do I connect the charging dock to the TV? All sorts of adapters came with these headphones, a USB adapter, optical adapter, pls tell me how to do this? None of the videos do a simple set up, all the videos on youtube add all these extras in, sound bar, PC speakers. I can adjust the volume on my headphones by a switch on my headphones. All I am trying to do is hook up the charging port to the back of the TV - again, there is no 3mm jack, just "audio in and out" and optical hookups. Pls help !
I just wanted to thank you for your help. I’ve been trying for a while now to figure out how to use headphones on my tv that doesn’t have a headphone jack and you solved the great mystery, using pc speakers with a headphone jack. I ran it from the digital audio optical port on the tv connected to a digital optical cable, conected to a prozor digital to anolog audio converter, to an RCA to 3.5 mm female, then connected it to my pc speakers. It works flawlessly. Thank you again, Sir.
Doesn't work on my Samsung. I guess I'll try getting a soundbar like that because nothing is happening with my PC speakers except a hum. All the sound is still from the television. I'm so disappointed. It's insane that an expensive tv doesn't have something so simple as a headphone jack. (Edit: Just so people know, it's a Samsung LED TV Series 5 - 5205 525D).
Have you tried different output ports?
I did. I've tried everything under the sun, and then some. I'm counting it at as a loss. I just knew it would work, too. (Which clearly it does on other tv's). It just doesn't work on my Samsung. Even though it didn't work for me, thanks for the video. I have the feeling those new cables I bought for this will come in handy someday on another tv. At least they were inexpensive, and the extended headphones I got are nice and work on a different tv. (Not that I'll ever use them in there. lol!) I'm just glad I found my old speakers and never bought new ones.
Same problem here, Kristin! So disappointed in my Samsung.
same here,my tv is haeir..it haa no headphone input..
@@kristin-happytexan I agree. I am looking at upgrading to a 'Smart' TV by LG. I have a LG TV at the mo and it has a headphone jack. I watch a lot of late night TV via headphones.
Not having a jack is a deal breaker and LG have lost a sale. Ridiculous!
How to attach to a cable box or satillite dish?
Bro I have USB port on my sound bar.I have boat aavante1160 sound bar and TV name lg 55um 7300pta plz help I have two sound bar.plz plz help love from india
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time.
Cheers mate !
Hello, I attempted to do this, though the cable adapter I got is a RCA to 3.5mm male... I plugged it to a 3.5mm female-female piece to which then I connected my headphones, but audio keeps coming out from the TV.
I was thinking it may be because of that extra step due to the male output. Do you think the problem may be that it's not a RCA to 3.5mm female?
Thanks!
not sure if you just saw my post you're going to have to hook up PC speakers with a headphone jack and volume control. Then it will work! I did the same thing you did it did not work but once I plugged in PC speakers to the adapter on this video it worked just fine. Hope this tip helps!
Is the sound bar you used described on Amazon for PCs? Cab sound bars for PCs be used for TVs????
Yup most definitely!
@@TechManZ Thank you! I purchased a PC soundbar and the adapter, as described. I am testing it on my Smart TV before setting it up on my mom's not Smart TV. So far nothing is happening. The sound continues to flow from the back speakers of my Vizio. I have power in my sound bar and have tested 2 sets of White/red ports on my TV and nothing is happening. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
@@terrimary6320 maybe from your tv remote go to the sound menu and select external speaker.
What if the TV has no Red and White plugs on the back?
I presently use my TV's headphone socket to a three way switch. Up to wireless headphone sender, down to powered sub woofer and sats and middle nothing. Mosty modern TV's don't have a headphone socket, hence your video!
How about using an optical out to female phono adapter? Thinking that, as this is usually used to connect soundbars etc, it might be easier to disable the built in speakers via the TV audio menu.
The component cables to female 3.5mm i find is so far the least expensive and most common
@@TechManZ
Hallo, I have an old LG big tv screen...I wanna use my wireless headphones via a bluetooth key but my tv has no USB options just one "Service only in" .Moreover, there is one jack port "in" not "out" in the TV...
Can you help me pls....? Thanks in advance..
You've taken into consideration if a TV has no phono jack!
What about if I want to conect a subwoofer that doesn’t have a headphone jack just the avc cables to conect?
find cable Rca Red n white to 3.5mm female
This is so basic that if it isn't obvious, you really just don't have the ability to learn new things. And if your TV has no headphone jack and you can't find a way to hook up your speakers, this video probably isn't going to help you at all. Because if you're like me, my TV ONLY has a headphone jack, and it's a smart TV, but doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities. So when I am searching, like many others, for ways to hook up a sound system with no headphone jack, that MOST TIMES means no audio out. Not no headphone jack.
Hi This will work with smart tv? Thanks you
If it does, nice. If it doesn't, just refund.
Hi,
Thanks for the video. I have a question though.
I’m trying to figure out a solution for our living room. My dad uses headphones to hear the TV but we also listen to the sound out of the TV speakers. Before we could do this just fine because the DirectTV box has an auxiliary out that went straight to the wireless headphone dock. We’ve switched to using the Roku which connects to the TV via HDMI.
How can we hook up the headphones to the TV so sound will be played through them AND the TV speakers at the same time?
Thanks.
Does the Roku have a headphone jack anywhere?
TechManZ No. Not the express version. The more expensive Roku devices have a headhphone jack in the remote but this causes the sound from the TV to stop.
I did find a solution though. I bought a Bluetooth transmitter from Amazon which hooks up via the optical out port on the back of the TV. I’m just waiting on the Sennheiser 4.40 HD headphones to arrive in the mail.
When I plug my headset sending unit to my TV the it kills the TV audio. The last TV I had, when using my wireless headphones, the TV audio continued sound My wife could control the TV audio to her liking and I could control the headphone volume to my liking. What do I have to do to get the old system back?
I'm in the same boat
What if you dont have audio output but only audio input
Right... when are these "compatible" TV'S from? My Pana ut50 has digital audio out and hdmi audio out... I just hot wired my old surround system from RCA to headphone so I can play my music from my phone but what about my digital audio or hdmi audio out 65 inch muted TV!??!?!?!?! Fuck Panasonic wtf?!?!?
Whats the difference from output and input
@@scroes6067 seriously? One takes an audio signal in and the other sends one out.
@@aledwards9355 😱 waw give this man a cookie
@@scroes6067you are awesome man keep up the good work!
What about wireless headphones?
So stupid that they got rid of a fucking headphone port!.....why?
can I connect headphones directly from red and white jacks? I don't need speakers
Tell me if you find out? I'd like to know that as well.
@@brandoncreswell5842 i wanna know too did u find out
@@s1Lence_au it didnt work with me i used a rca to aux female plugged my earbuds to the female end and no sound came out .... ive been using my echo dot as a bluetooth receiver but has whitenoise you can hear when silent.
No audio output jack and earphone jack how to make?
my question is, if i do this with my jbl bluetooth speakers, will i still be able to use the speakers with other devices, such as my phone, without having to physically disconnect it from the tv
If your jbl speakers allow 2 connections then you wont need to physically disconnect. But you wont be able to use both devices(phone and tv) simultaneously.
@@TechManZ thanks bud, this helps a lot
I have a jbl flip 5 so i linked it with my tv bluethoot and it glitches, I can't stand it! have you had this problem?
Using an rca adapter wont work, fixed volume. Remote control volume ? Not gonna happen. This video is ancient and misleading
no,,do your ears a favor avoid sounbars and cheap pc speakers, anyone who has bought a recent Samsung knows your not going to get any analog outputs on current gen samsung TVs and im sure many others are dropping analog outs of any kind,,,even headphone jacks are getting extinct on some brands,,seems whatever samsung and LG do others are sure to follow suite,,, making it a bit more work to keep using any analog amp,, currently on my 50 inch samsung you get optical audio out and hdmi,,either way your going to need a converter,, I am looking into possibly using one or more source devices like a htpc to try a workaround but the simple route is to just pickup a decent receiver cheap and get the best pair of speakers your budget will allow,,of course this will lead you down the upgrade path lol
This. A budget 5.1 receiver with budget speakers or at the very least a mini hi-fi. No matter how fancy the TV the inbuilt speakers are horrible and it is just plain bizarre that so many people settle with a big screen with earache-enducing smartphone audio
Thanks.
JUST GET A PAIR OF BT HEADPHONES AND A $2 TRANSMITTER / RECEIVER. HOOK T UP TO A USB PORT ON THE TV.
u dont need rca if the screen has usb audio out
how so?
11 $ speakers lol
My tv Doesn't have Audio Out, please update this video

Nonsense
too costly
