I love Mary's character in this show. She shows such a strong and dutiful personality as queen but at the same time she depends on Francis and her friends to keep her going. This makes her character very interesting to watch on the series and shows different sides to her and how quickly she can flick between them.
This is amazing! What I find sad is she spent so long fighting for Scotland, yet returning there was her downfall. She protected them and looked after them and they all hated her regardless!
Mary returned at a time when the Protestant Reformation was taking place. The Earl of Mar protected her & allowed her to take Mass. If she would have conformed, she could have kept her crown. But she persisted and her half brother plotted against her. The Earl of Morey or Mary's half brother's, grandfather was the Earl of Mar. He tried to keep peace between them. But I think the Earl of Morey is the one who had her husband killed and planted evidence on her new lover the Earl of Bothwell.

Also, if the nobles knew about Mary's alleged affair with Bothwell, they wouldn't have kept it a secret. There's is little proof that hasn't been debunked already that proves that Mary was having an affair tbh
It wasn’t “Men” it was the Nobles. The Scottish Hated Her, The English Hated her, And so did the French. The problem was She Was the Queen of Scotland, Consort of France, And The 1st Heir to Scotland. She Had 1 choice and it was to trust the Nobles/Subjects.
and elizabeth was a strong women with a villaines personality its not that I hate her, I love Elizabeth for who she is , mary was a strong woman with a good heart, good people die early, mary didn't torture people.
Talk about empowerment of women! I know, that it is also heartbreaking, but it makes me want to be as strong and as powerful as Mary! I feel like I could reign right now! Even if it's just for 7 minutes. That was beautiful and amazingly done! I had goosebumps on my skin and tears in my eyes. Thank you!

Even tho Mary was killed by Elizabeth... I have always admired her for her strength, beauty, and courage. She had so much going against her, yet still stayed true to her duty which is why her son ended up inheriting both the kingdoms of England and Scotland. Besides Elizabeth herself, Katherine of Aragon, and Elizabeth Woodville...Margaret of Anjou too, she is one of my fav British monarchs.

I can't stop watching this series. It's so well done. Not 100% historically accurate but so entertaining and professionally portrait characters. I've watched the whole 4 seasons 4 times. Costumes are breathtakingly beautiful as is the jewellery worn by the ladies. I love Reign!!!

Her life, in this series, had a lot of pain in it but she persevered and fought for what she wanted. Beautifully, after a life of struggle and much of it on her own, in the end she found much needed peace in heaven with him.
It fell all down after Francis death. Which didn’t help the fact that he died with the alliance. Mary was a Strong queen. Who didn’t deserve the end she had received...
