Popuphood is a small business incubator in Oakland, CA that collaborates with local entrepreneurs, property owners, and the city government to revitalize local neighborhoods.
Small retailers "pop up" in vacant spaces and are granted up to six months of free rent - after which they have the option to stay permanently and sign a long-term lease with the property owner. In this video, we meet the folks behind popuphood and the retailers who have found success as a result of this innovative model!
