0:05 - replacement battery module
0:12 - replacement optical drive
0:40 - replacement hard drive/ssd
1:07 - upgrade RAM/memory
2:47 - replacement keyboard
3:20 - disconnect touchpad
4:30 - replacement motherboard
4:50 - replacement fan and heatsink
5:12 - replacement wi-fi
5:27 - clean CPU/GPU and heatsink
8:35 - applying thermal grease/paste

I've noticed that my R 530 have something that appears to be an air intake (in the left of the cooler fan, as is seen in 4:32, a little black rectangle) However, this "air intake" is completely blocked with a piece of plastic that can be easily removed once the motherboard is out of the case.
Is that​ normal? should I remove that "air intake cover" to improve cooling?
Sometimes the areas near the touchpad get considerably warm while the notebook is under normal load
