My tackle box as a kid !!! fishing an old pond way back in the woods. I remember changing lures. Walking down the waters edge making a few casts. Looked back and this tackle box had been moved to edge a heavily wooded area near the pond . I got out or there. Came back to get it with friends
I NEVER went there alone again.
    Very unnerving

Usually one can resort to Occum's razor to solve or debunk something, but with all these weird cases you simply can't. There is no single, simple explanation for all these mysteries. Why are so many people vanishing without a trace? Why are there so many in such concentrated areas (Yosemite for an example)? None the less, very interesting.
Nice to see you back and uploading, Rusty.

@@backpackingcapebreton I wasn't thinking about that. I was thinking more on the side of why they ( sometimes experienced, physically and mentally fit ) go missing without warning or trace. You'd think if a person did get lost or commit suicide there would be a trace or evidence, even if they had decomposed or scavenged. At least bones, clothing or personal objects. That's not talking about the times people have been found. Found high on cliffs, missing clothing (most of the time boots or shoes) or hundreds of miles away from their last known location. Sure, the could have gotten lost, but often times they are fairly experienced in hiking or the area's topography. What I have said only scrapes the top of the iceberg in all these paradoxical cases. Sometimes in cases they are in groups only meters behind when they vanish without a sound, sometimes they go missing on a cloudless, warm day only for the weather to go coincidentally violent when they are reported missing.
I do not believe that any paranormal force is doing this, nor anything else that outlandish. Yes, people do suffer accidents, get lost etc but that doesn't explain all the other bizarre factors that come into play.

Back in 1998 a friend named Larry (a co-worker) and I climbed Mt. Lasson in northern CA. It's a popular summer climb and you are rarely out of a ling line of climbers both ahead and behind you. But on this day the climbers were thin, and we had time to rest alone amongist the boulders. There are scattered groups of big boulders along the way, which are home to groups of mountain squirrels. Actually the are smaller then squirrels, much more like chipmunks. They have become very tame and will come right up to you in groups to beg food. Near the foot of the mountain we were approached by the first group of these critters. If you move too quickly they will disappear back into the rocks. I noticed that the boldest of these little animals had a red length of ribbon tied around it's neck.
The addition of this ribbon was quite strange, as these critters would never tolerate someone tying anything around their necks.
The weird part of this story began when we reached the next group of boulders maybe 1/4 mile further up. The resident chipmunks there came out to beg again. And their leader was again wearing a red ribbon around it's neck! What? If it had run ahead to meet us up there, we never saw it! But there it was. This continued to happen as we reached each higher group of rocks.
We were told later by a park ranger that these animals NEVER leave the group of boulders they survive in. So, it's just an odd story. and I don't blame anyone who dosen't believe it. Guess that's all.

On that last story about Tim going missing and then found the story he told should be a wake up call as to being 1 of the mysteries of people who go missing without a trace and no one believed him and they basically shunned him I mean here is a fellow who is able to tell what happened to him and could have happened to countless others and then they don't look into it. It makes me think that the higher ups in the National Parks and Government know what is going on but are trying to keep it quiet. Any Thoughts anyone?

I'm almost 100% positive that whatever took the guy in the last story is the main culprit in the missing 411 cases. Everything from the missing shoes and equipment, to the distance traveled. He said he was moving at a supernatural speed, this has to be the case for most of these dissapearances considering how far these victims end up in such a short amount of time. That man is very lucky to be alive on this day.

There are things in the woods, deserts, mountains and jungles that have never been understood: creatures, demons, animal predators, unknown animals, spiritual doorways and dangerous humans. Some of these we are not allowed to understand. Supernatural forces are as real as the physical. Keep pretending humans will always "figure these things out" but its not true. It's just our pride. God's creation is bigger than carnal man's small-minded thinking.

      Pay attention to the birds!
No birds chirping or flying around, get out of there!
That's what happened to me. I smelled something real foul, like the black stinking mud in a swamp when you stir it up, it smelled like a dead animal too. Come to find out, a Bigfoot was spying on me only about 40 feet away! It was only my 2nd or 3rd time in the woods in Southern Illinois. I was standing there and it was extremely quiet and it stunk. I heard her stick crack real close to me. I squatted down to make myself small. This thing took off running away from me through the cat tails. It weighed well over a thousand pounds. It was making the ground shake like a horse does only I could tell it was running on two legs. I ran for my life in the other direction! My friend and I went back out there about four and a half hours later. We found these giant footprints 18 and a 1/2 in - 19 in. Long. They look just like humans Only twice as big. They call it the Big Muddy monster here in Southern Illinois.

Wow, that last story may very well explain whats been happening to these missing hikers, guy gets taken by some unknown creature yet no one could hear him scream? and there's no way they couldn't of heard him if he was just a few feet away.....That also explains the missing shoes and socks and the fact that he was 30 miles away from his original location is similar to the missing hikers when their remains are found miles away from where they were last seen. He was fortunate he was found or else he would of just become one those missing people that's never found without a trace. I think there's something out there, not from this world that's taking people from these parks. No way anything from this world could do that.

A friend of mine and I went winter camping in Mt Baker NF back in 2004 and it was raining heavily but we decided to try and start a fire anyway. About an went by and we just managed to start our fire and got it built up hot and big enough to withstand the weather so it would stay lit while we setup the big tent and we were going to build a cook shelter also. When we were confident the fire was set, we both started for the truck about 50 feet in direct line of sight to the fire so as to gather some gear. When I turned from the tailgate to head back , my friend was still in the driver side door, he was putting his 40 Cal. Glock on his belt and I already had my small 22 pistol. What I saw haunts me still and he won't talk about it much if I bring it up.
There was an embankment people had dumped an old throw rug down just 20 feet or so off to the side of the camp, we noticed it earlier. Something or someone or whatever, I have no idea had moved this rain drenched heavy soiled likely 200 lbs carpet roll up this steep hill and silently extinguished our by this point, raging fire with it by unrolling it over the fire pit. Heavy smolding billows of smoke were rolling out. I through my gear back into the bed right then and just looked at him, he at I..... He started to panick badly and was visibly shaky. He pulled hisnow hip holstered pistol and fired 3 rounds fast into the carpets/fires direction and was asking loudly WTF this was all about and what was going on did I see yada yada. I just said go go go get in we have to go. We ended up leaving a few items including a chainsaw, axe, machete, camp chairs and a lighter. I went back the next week and our crap was still there same as left. The carpet remaining on the fire. I tried to lift it and struggled to even get it off the pit. What moved that junk so fast behind 2 armed young men in a matter of a few moments while just backs turned is beyond me but we both say we had the most st horror filled feeling ever. I never been the same in the woods since. We were 50 miles at very least from anyone and just about 5 miles off the USA/CANADA border in National Forest like I said b4.

Last story is textbook 411, short distance away, disappears, found 30 miles away, no shoes, severe exposure from being ran through brush, something big enough to haul off a grown man. Whatever it was it was watching their group and pounced on the guy when the opportunity presented itself. That is intelligent behavior.

The water bottle story reminded me of a time when I lost a book. No big deal, I just thought I d moved it and forgot where I put it and it would turn up. However my friend knocked on my door and she seemed freaked out. She d found this book on her table which had appeared from nowhere and wanted to know if I had been into her house and put it there as I had promised to lend it to her ages ago and forgot to. I swore I hadn't and I d not done it as a joke or sneaked into her house, besides she keeps her doors locked even in the daytime even when she s in, due to an abusive ex who keeps coming round to hassle her so I couldn't have done just walked in, nor had I been in her house lately nor she into my place. The book mysteriously moved to other places in her house twice more "by itself" in odd places before she gave it back to me. She was so spooked she gave it back to me without reading it. It was a biography on a physic medium who had passed away recently. It scared the he'll out of me and I threw it away and never been near anything physic since, but on reflection I wondered if the psychic who died was trying to communicate in some way and meant no harm.

I like your story with the Zion national Park Sticker and the bottle. I had a similar experience with a set of car keys, but it didn't happen at a National Park. I went to Seattle, WA to visit my sister and the first night there, we went out for dinner at a local restaurant. After finishing dinner and arriving back to my sisters house, she parked her car and after we got out, she locked the doors. We walked up stairs to he apartment and she unlocked the front door using her keys. I sat down on her couch and she set her keys on the kitchen counter, then went into her bedroom and about 3 minutes later come out and told me that she needs to get her things ready for work the next morning. She went to pick up her keys and they were gone. We searched her apartment for an hour and couldn't find them. I finally suggested that we look inside her car and took a flash light. Her set of keys were sitting on the drivers seat locked inside of her car. She had another set of keys, but were at her daughters house about 12 miles away and had to call her to bring them over so that she could retrieve her set from the locked car. I sat there on the couch and never saw anything that looked like a set of keys mysteriously moving by themselves, and we both don't have a clue as to how they ended up inside her locked car on the drivers seat.
