- Winter solstice is behind us and the light hours will be getting longer soon! My son came home from University for the festive season which I enjoy a lot.
Christmas can be stressful and was in my past so today I aim for calm and quiet.
I made scented candles for the family and finished the Christmas decoration.

I’m just now finding and seeing your last Christmas video I was in tears by the time it was over because I could so relate to it. Not many understand me but I can’t stand big noisy crowds not even my own kin. Glad when I find others I can relate to. Looking forward to another video for Christmas 2024 ❤

Your walks look as if you are walking at times through my home of the Ozark’s in Missouri and Arkansas and even the Appalachian’s here in the United States. Scotland is a bit greener but we have the waterfalls and crags and trails and such here. It is a beautiful area. A lot of the Scotch Irish and Welsh settled here along with the Native Americans. Your home reminds me of mine.
I still have Scotland on my bucket list!

I very much enjoyed going back to one of your earlier videos. What was your career as you traveled to France, the U. S. and Germany? I can relate to the search for self acceptance as my working experience is so varied and had many twists and changes. I am now retired and finding simplicity and joy in a slower pace and acceptance of life in a simpler more peaceful manner....I truly enjoy your lovely videos with the beautiful music and scenery and your soft words of wisdom.

I used plant based wax that I bought online (including the wicks) which I melt in a pot sitting in hot water. I use a drop of that to fix the wick on the base of the container that I am using and a peck to hold it in place.
Once the wax is melted, I infuse it with some oil that I also bought online specifically for candle making. Depending on your preference you might have to experiment a wee bit with how much you use. This mixture then gets poured into the container and should sit still until the wax is solid again. You can then remove the peck and cut the wick short.
