Well, the secret is out... I have been using Roland Cube's for years in playing solo guitar instrumentals. Cube 30's and 40's for smaller rooms (I have found the 40's to be slightly "darker" than the 30's) and Cube 60's for larger places. They sound great, are remarkably consistent and are incredibly tough. As Morten mentioned, you can also find them for "dirt cheap". (At least until people watch this video...) Morten, you sound incredible playing yours! Wishing you continued success!
I KNEW it would be a Cube! I have 3 of them, and believe it or not, my favourite for guitar is the 20w bass one. A broader tone than the actual guitar amps, and much deeper too. Also have the Katana which I rate highly too.
I have two, both bought second hand. A 30 and a 40 watt. It's really practical to have two. You can leave one at a venue without worrying too much about it getting stolen. There's no line out on these (my) amps. The input may be the 'Achilles heel' on the Cube. Especially if it's plastic.
Hej Morten! Vh & god tisdag Per 🇸🇪😊🎶
This is a Roland Cube 60. The 80 watt version I have have some letters too, XL or something. The tone is pretty much the same, it has some more options in the FX section.
@@MortenF Tak Morten. :) I was just wondering. I got a Cube 80x but havn't used it in ages, due to living in a small apartment, so its hard to keep soundlevel down.

Lovely playing and thoughtful analysis of the jazz amp issue.

Interesting..!
Boss Nextone is awesome for Jazz, and any clean sounds. I prefer it to my Fender Princeton .
Haha, I play through a Cube 100 BASS amp. Works very well as clean jazz amp (heavier than guitar amps though)
The new setting is awesome. With the dimmed lightning in the studio. And yes the roland cubes are really good value!

Just got the iconic Roland Jazz Chorus JC 22. Love it.
I use a Roland JC-22 for jazz. It has the ballpark tone and won’t break the back 😎
And loud enough to play with a drummer?
@@MortenF Sure! I have done many gigs in small clubs with the Roland JC-22. It can whisper, but it can shout too! Lovely mids!
I'll take the Fender amp over the cube all day long.
Our university picked up a few of these like 10 years ago for all the reasons your mentioning.

Love my orange cube 60
Morten both your amp and axe sound sooooo tasteful brother .What 😮😮😮the Cube costs 160€
Thank you😁
floating mini humbucker, best tone ever, i have a peerless new york for jazz.
And why don't you write down the name of the amp?
Henriksen, bud6 best amp ever. 30 day money back guarantee
I'm sure it's really awesome. With shipping and VAT it's 13 times the price I paid for the Cube though😆
Could it be that actually the plus is the lack of dynamics, compared to a tube amp, that delivers a more "punch in your face" sound?
Don't think so, it doesn't feel less dynamic, it's more about the frequency curve I think.
Shhhhhhhh🤫 now everyone knows.
What was the amp model name ?
