Alright, so, a bit context for those that are confused. After Rain World's 1.5 update released, the devs assigned port teams to bring version 1.7 across all platforms, unifying them to a single codebase for easier future updates. But these port teams were VERY slow, so most of Videocult's job was waiting, which is why we haven't had a RW update in a long time. Because of this, they still wanted to express their creative energy, and started working on a bunch of experimental projects of varying sorts. Joar Jakobsson especially was pretty interested in creating something in 3D. One of the most advanced of these was ANIMALMYN, which unlike RW, took place in a far-future earth where you played as feral emoji creatures scavenging a digital mall. James Primate created a big soundtrack for this that you can listen to. This game only lasted as a concept, and was canceled after they had an idea for a bigger, more important project. They have been teasing it on twitter for a couple months now, which the community has been speculating on, and this video is a part of that. A teaser for the next project and its soundtrack. From the looks of things, this is only the first video, and we might get more. It is after all, only Signal 001. Hopefully we see gameplay soon, whatever this next project is.
Rain World is one of my all time favourite games. I'm personally just really curious to see what else these guys can come up with! I'm sure I'll enjoy it whatever it may be

I HEARD THAT RAIN WORLD SOUND EFFECT that intrigues me greatly, knowing that this is a new game they’re working on also this really sounds like threat music loving the futuristic, yet tropical and tribal vibe they got going here, with all the artificial steel drums and bongos

I bought rain world years ago. Only just started seriously investing into it. I'm genuinely shocked at the quality. However, I was under the impression you guys were just gone after it's release. I didn't realize there were updates, or that new projects were even happening at all. This is a wonderful surprise.
So... I’m rewatching this just for fun now, but I noticed something... odd. See the “water”? See the way it recedes somewhat unnaturally? My theory is that it’s actually reversed footage of the water rising. Maybe that’s why this beach is so different than everything else we’ve seen: it’s all underwater now. What do you guys think?

The speed of the mercury sign spinning is tied to the speed of the environment. Makes me wonder if there's some time mechanic in their next project. Also, I think the direction it spins in also is tied to the clip going forward or backwards. Not so sure about that one though.
Me and my friend were discussing the possibility of the “Mercury” symbol actually symbolizing the Element Mercury, which *might* very loosely explain the weird colored water. What do you guys think?
Maybe the game takes place on a terraformed Mercury in the distant future. Mankind may have ended judging by how the human statue in the distance looks ruined. Or it doesn't take place on Mercury because of the different color of the plant life, indicating that this isn't even the same star that the planet is orbiting.

Would also like it since that would allow for multiplayer on consoles outside of the Arena mode. Really sucks that PC RW has been behind on updates since we have yet to have gotten the 1.7 update that Switch and PS4 has had for about a year or so.
