I like the way they’re singing about “meadows” -the entire album had sort of a back to nature feel to it and was my favorite album - but Look Around is still my favorite 😂 guess I have 2 favorites

When I was 16 or so, I couldn’t get enough of Sergio Mendes, Tom Jobim, Santana and Malo-great music and good times!

Work with me on this, if you're old enough to get the references...
Remember how the 2nd incarnation of BS&T (post-Al Kooper) used to take lesser-known stuff by very hip people, not yet household names, such as Laura Nyro, Traffic, James Taylor (yes, there was a time), and rearrange them, turning them into idiosyncratic works of art?
Now imagine that, instead of a "horn" band, BS&T had been a "vocal" band, and they were doing the same job on another hip up-and-comer, Steve Katz, who wrote this tune and recorded it on the second BS&T LP...
    THAT's what's going on here.
Having Sergio himself out front with an uncharacteristic vocal solo makes perfect sense, as his range and timbre are not dissimilar from Katz's... and when the girls come in, we know that we're off on an excursion to find out what new places this beautiful song can take us.
If you're not familiar with the original, here it is:
    ruclips.net/video/DPQ_GdtrgyQ/видео.html
...but, as succulent as Dick Halligan's original arrangement is, if you hear the Mendes version of this tune first, don't be surprised if you feel like there's something missing:
(I heard BS&T do "Fire and Rain" before I ever heard James Taylor's recording of it, and as a result, Taylor's version always suffered in comparison for me.)
