When my beat up cornet became unusable when I was in tenth grade 60 years ago, the band director gave me a brand new euphonium (baritone horn) to play. "Don't underestimate this instrument," he said, "You're going to have some really beautiful stand-out parts to play in music like Colonel Bogey march, English Folk Song Suite, numerous Sousa marches, Holst's First Suite in Eb, and many others. Please practice and take this instrument seriously." He was right! I was ABSOLUTELY thrilled when we two euphonium players got to 'shine' on many of the music pieces we played. I was never, ever close to being the virtuoso you are, though. Enjoyed your playing.
This is phenomenal! I loved the rock/metal pieces on the my war cd and finally this style is back on your channel. I can imagine it is a lot of work but please share more music like this, the young generation needs it!🙏 Thank you for all your music and general content though, you are a great inspiration!
Thank you for kind words and absolutely! We'll definitely be doing more of these compositions, they just take a lot of time and resources to produce. This took me almost 6 months from starting composing, to producing recording and sheet music. Make sure to share this with your friends. This would be very helpful for us and encouraging to do more pieces like this. :)
WOW! Amazing. I've heard Glenn Call play with The President's Own while I've been visiting Washington, DC. One tie was a really intimate concert in which the audience sat on the steps of the US Capitol (facing the Supreme Court) and the band was in the driving area right in front of the steps. I spoke to a few members of the band, and I had to gravitate toward the euphonium. THIS PIECE THOUGH. WOW. It's like live performance techno pop played acoustically. Very interesting. The fading at the end was very effective. I loved the notes after the piece. DAMN well done - all of you!
Appreciate your comment Bill. Glenn is a great guy who's very passionate about euphonium. Hope this piece will leave a nice legacy for him. Glad you enjoyed it!
Man that piece is RAW! Man you had me head banging when that rock beat kicked in! Wow your sound on Euphonium and skills are amazing! I used to love playing it in concert band when I was in High School back in '97. I started as a trombone player in middle school and ended up with Euphonium cause a guy sucked at "Second Suite in F - Gustav Holst" which you know is a high demand Euphonium power suite. Had to learn the keys and my band instructor was in awe that I sounded like the player on the CD! Man I miss those days!
Happy Monday BrassNation! We've got a brand new composition for you today. "On the Shoulders of Giants" commissioned by our dear patron and euphonium legends Glenn Call is Alternative Rock/Metal Euphonium Duet with Symphonic Band. This truly is amazing!! I love the level of control you have in intonation! and the calm you have in the faster paced parts. It's just amazing to listen to!
Thank you very much! You've been our biggest supporter. Always glad to see your comment. This piece is indeed very different, designed to attract younger players as requested by the patron who commissioned this piece. We're always trying to be as versatile as possible so hopefully people enjoy. :)
Hey dude, this is going to sound weird, but I might be starting baritone/euphonium in 8th grade concert band, and was wondering if you could tell me a few tips? I really like this instrument, ive played all 3 main saxophones and trumpet, but not baritone and am just starting soon.
@@MrEsPlace It's actually index finger of left hand. These euphoniums are called compensating euphoniums or basically non student euphoniums. Compensating system adds tubing in the instrument for improved intonation in the lower register :)

And people dare say that low brass doesn't rock.
I double dare them to say that again.
A very good composition, i loved it
Thank you very much!
It's so sad how not many people know about you, you are a master of your craft
Appreciate it Aaron! We always ask people to share our videos with their friends and colleagues. That helps a lot! :)
Not agree, at least all euphonium world knows and loves him🙂
Hugs from Belarus
This is by far the greatest thing I've ever heard in my life.
i play the ephonium and this is amazing. The quality of all the notes and the speed at which you play is really good this is what I call dedication
Thank you Zara!

Hi Gavin, do you mean in tips in general or do you have something specific in mind?
@@Matonizz just tips in general please?
are there any non-compensating euphoniums like those?
You mean similar to what I use?
@@Matonizz i think, the one where the valve is not on the side but upfront and all together.
is there a way to make the quality better? i only see 360p
beautiful tone btw
Thank you and yes, it's processing right now, the 4k should be available very soon :)
Where's your fourth valve bro?
Left hand at the bottom
@@Matonizz Gotcha. I didn't know they did it that way. All that pinky work...
