Shelvi is a popular astrologer and politician. His birth name is K Damodaran. He was born and brought up in Chennai. Shelvi’s native is Vellore. His father was an advocate, and his mother was a headmistress in a government school. He has two siblings. He did his schooling at Kellet Higher Secondary School in Triplicane, Chennai. Like his father, Shelvi wanted to become an advocate. He learned astrology at a young age. Shelvi got inspired by his friend’s dad, who was an astrologer.
Initially, he gained knowledge in astrology by reading books. He started predicting astrology and numerology at very young age by getting birthdates from the customers who came to the shop where he worked. Soon, he was popular. When Shelvi expressed his interest in learning astrology, none in his family supported him, except his mother.
Shelvi stated that each of his mentors had different techniques, and he grasped them. Shelvi’s prediction worked out for one of his friends, and after that, his friend suggested Shelvi to learn astrology deeply, as he has good knowledge in it. Later, he developed his knowledge from many talented astrologers. While studying law, he got an opportunity to publish his astrology predictions in popular magazines Kumudam and Malaimadhi. At that time, one of his family friends suggested Shelvi to use a pen name and suggested the name Shelvi. He started believing his talent after he found his predictions come true in his personal life.
Priya Kalyanaraman of Kumudham gave him the epithet, Edhartha Jyothidar, as Shelvi predicts things practically. Now, he is one of the leading astrologers in India. Shelvi belongs to the political party BJP, and he is the leader of the intellectual wing for Tamilnadu BJP at present.

Is there any yardstick to identify a good astrologer? How knowledgeable astrologer being certified? As a layman how do we judge a correct astrologer? Normal man used to decide by his popularity, charges and no. Of days taken for his appointment
If there is any other ways, pls let me know. But in my experience an astrologer can predict upto 30-40%. Not more than that at all.
