They did pretty well! the US is now switching to using new small arms that can be chambered in 6.5 creedmore, the vanilla Hunter MRAP is actually in use by NATO and US forces and have been sent to Ukraine. Lots of other small things that they got right, just those two to name a few!
It depends on what scenario you play on. If there are thousands of additional props, scripts (X-Life or late KotH round) and so on it just can't run smoothly. But if you play in a milsim group, which game master knows how to prepare the mission, you'll love it
you're not even trying anymore are you, ...you modded in a railgun tank and calling that a "free update" .... did you gut the AIII team like you did the Dayz team? i mean cool but, meh
Did they optimize the game to run at 60 FPS plus no matter the player count on Multiplayer servers? Shit even Single Player? The most top of the line custom or prebuilt PC's have trouble running this game on steady high frames. That's what they should focus on, not crap we can get that looks and plays better from mods. Pointless update
Jesus, what do you expect from a ten years old game? I've played it since Early Alpha (now 1400 hrs on the clock), on a shit*y computer with 15 fps. I love the progress they've done with the evolution of this game. In alpha there wasn't even a support for 64 bit computers. Go into the editor and check how it'd run on an empty escenario. Then add thousand assets (like people do on the custom scenarios), add ten players and check how it would run. Don't expect it to run like for example CoD, because even the map size is not comparible, the physics and so on.
they cannot optimalize it anymore, the engine is the limiter. Its from 2001 and was never supposed to handle multicore CPUs and GPUs. hence why most of the dev team is working on a new engine.

As much as people have complained about "wasting" time making a new engine, Its likely that they are made their coding skins even better in the process
probably just used a benchmark and didnt take internet traffic and data into consideration. Try it on a 65 player warlords server. Its exactly the same. Nothing has changed you just get mouth breathers setting their view distance to 40,000km on a server that's locked to 3.4km.
Hey Bohemia, listen up. While you are bringing railgun tank in Arma 3, many of us have struck in the Altis Requiem campaign missions, especially in the salient forces. We can't complete the objective Collateral Damage, because AI NATO units destroy objects and that is counted as a penalty for the player !!! Besides, we can't also load a save to start from the beginning, it still loads the bug as well. Please fix it as soon as you can. We don't need this tank as bad as this bug needs to be fixed.
Now if you only fixed the AI for us to enjoy it in the editor and make AI vs AI battles where you don't need 10 additional AI improvement mods for the AI to be semi-functional, instead of just adding futuristic stuff, that would be great.
I don't think it's feasible at this point. The AI is 20+ years old and it would be cheaper to just start from scratch (which is what they're doing with A4/Reforger).
A single update has completely disrupted my experience; all of my profiles have vanished. Even worse, any attempt to create a new profile results in a game-crashing issue...pray for me
Please fix breaking even mission in the east wind, I can't get through the first objective. It always fails !!! And also salient forces in altis requiem. I never shot a civilian or any structure, but still the objective collateral damage is failed automatically after some time !!!

You have to rely on modders for that. Arma isn't designed for Altis life or any life RP servers. It's a military sandbox.

Vanilla AI isn’t bad, it’s functional and does an okay job.
