From going to a happy-go-lucky normal Clarence episode to this SHOCKINGLY good depiction of depression in a school Enviromint is almost beautiful as how depression can sometimes just immediately plummet, a happy kid could have something go down and become depressed with the school system doing nothing to help. I love how he just seems "normal" when he's depressed. Idk if that was intentional but its still kinda cool cuz it shows that a lot of depressed people dont even show that theyre depressed often without even knowing
This is still my favorite song from Clarence also fun fact the singer is pretending to sound like Randy Newman as this is a take on strange things from toy story 1 when woody is watching how buzz is being played with more than him by Andy
This episode to me felt like the transition of a kid realizing that they are getting older and beginning to drop the childish habits and start to pickup on how they will be in middle school and high school
I fucking identify to this. From one day to another things suddenly change and start going worse and worse. You start feeling bad af and the people around don't understand you and don't want to understand you, which is worse. So you get to a point where you're fed up of shit and you start doing drastic changes. You don't give a fuck about what people will think, you just change cause you wanna get out of that fucking cave where there ain't light and faith. This state of mind is one of the few that correlates the mental and the physical individual. When you meet somebody going deep down through this shit you can see that his body is just a reflection of what's going on inside his head.
I was searching for this , i was watching Clarence when i was kid but the Arabic version this is the most episode that affected me and how i think and make me love this show :)
Clarence was one of my favorite Cartoon Network shows that I loved watching a lot so much along with Regular Show, Gumball and Adventure Time. But this Episode of Clarence's *Little Buddy* comes to my head when I think of an Episode because seeing him depressed after he buried his little buddy really hit me deep and made me feel so sad for Clarence.
Everyone talking about how this is “deep” about the education system, Clearance legitimately thinking he just committed a murder and abandoned the corpse in the woods.
I watched this episode back when I was in 6th grade. I usually watch Clarence as something to make me laugh but this particular episode made me uncomfortable. Looking back at it now though, I can see how well this portrays our public school system. They don't care if you're depressed, they just toss you away...
I feel like the teachers and other students care in this episode, they just have no idea what the heck is making Clarence act this way. It shows when they help fix what happened with his little buddy by the end of the episode. You're right though, public school systems aren't built to handle depressed kids. As a teacher, I have over 125 students that I need to meet their specific individual needs every day, and I just can't. I do my best, but there's only so much one person can do for a kid in a 40-minute class period, especially for the ones I don't know how to help. For some, it seems impossible because there's no one else to give them that support for the 95% of the rest of the day I don't see them, including when they're at home. I guess, like, I'm saying that I'm sure not all public schools aren't tossing them on purpose. I know I try my best to give the kids whatever positive attention I can while they're in my room, and I know several of my co-workers who do the same (not all, there are definitely ones who are selfish). There's so many people who care about kids that go into this line of work, the system in of itself is just so broken and dysfunctional.
I remember this episode having a weird audio desyncing issue and I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it really did help bring the fact that he slowly became more and more desensitized as the episode progressed, the more he gave in the worse the desync got

Huh. I always told myself I wouldn’t become one of those grumpy teenagers. This is exactly what happened though. I lost an important thing and spiraled into a sad angry little man. I’m trying hard to be better about it though.
Same. Just like when saw adults with miserably lives and not wanting to live and i was like " this people are insane i would never let myself be like them" the innocence
This is something I can relate to sadly. During the pandemic, the constant feeling of being stuck in my home forever took over my thoughts. I soon fell into a depressed, unmotivated slump which resulted in me falling off during my Junior year in high school. Thankfully, with new medication, therapy, and support from my friends and family I was able to push past it.
I remember the first time i saw this episode, I didn't even think anything of it, I watched it as a normal episode, then I saw the episode as a teenager and understood the episode way better
Man. I remember seeing this for the first time when I was a kid. It hit me like a truck, because I’ve had crap like this happen to me when I was in Elementary School. Something would happen where I’d get the blame but the teachers were at fault and they never fixed what was wrong. I’ve had times where I’d act like this. I’m pretty sure I had depression when I was a kid and it was kind of like this. (Not a great home life, bullying, jerk teachers, etc) So yeah.. pretty accurate I’d say.
After reading Ansel's comment in the comment section, I can't believe this is a Toy Story reference to Randy Newman's songs! 😰 I grew up with Clarence before I was in my early 20s right when Steven Universe first aired when I was 19 and seeing Clarence depressed for the first time is 101% relatable! For anyone that doesn't know how clinical depression is like, it's EXACTLY how Clarence acts! You would... 1.) Feel exhausted all the time. 2.) Feel a little irritated yet drowsy. 3.) Feel dull and numb to do anything. Those are 3 things you should know what depression is like as it's way more than being sad as it's also an emotion that I can't believe is relatable to Steven from Steven Universe before he turned into that GIANT Pink Monster! No wonder the older Cartoon Network Era of the mid-2010s were so much better as they expressed so much about mental illnesses which is creepy for me to know how much I miss both of these shows let alone Adventure Time. 😁
When I listen to that song it always reminded me of that song from toy story, the one where it was a montage of where everyone started loving Buzz and Woody sees everyone and everything around him changes like the posters and bed having Buzz merchandise instead of Cowboy merchandise.

This show is gold and I’ve been so upset since they took it off HBO Max. this is how I feel.
It's back on now
Man i did not know that this show is old. Oh man so much memories every morning before going to school and after going school my teeth even fell out while watching this show just love the days back then always happy and no stress time really just go so fast. Miss this man:(
Clarence was such an experience to watch. It captured the feeling of being a kid for me and how things felt
Don't let this distract you from the fact that I get bullied because my classmates think my videos are the worst. Please don't agree, dear name
The reason why I love this show so much is because it shows the suburban, elementary school life of an American kid which I wish I had...
big props to the creators of this show for in my opinion showing a fairly accurate depiction of what it's like to deal with depression
Clarence was such an underrated show.
Sometimes weirdness and gross absurdity can also be artistic and deep.
I love how he just seems "normal" when he's depressed. Idk if that was intentional but its still kinda cool cuz it shows that a lot of depressed people dont even show that theyre depressed often without even knowing
All the other kids with their pumped up kicks. Better run, better run, out run my skunk.
Not gonna lie, Clarence is so powerful he can single-handedly change a rule in school for good
This is still my favorite song from Clarence also fun fact the singer is pretending to sound like Randy Newman as this is a take on strange things from toy story 1 when woody is watching how buzz is being played with more than him by Andy
Yeah exactly!!!!
Plot Twist: it’s actually Randy Newman. He’s just uncredited.
@@okjeffy6581 haha imagine.
I miss Clarence, its been 4 yrs since I last watched an episode. The old times will always be the good times...
I used to think this show was stupid like uncle grandpa. I actually genuinely enjoy watching it now, as it’s relatable and pretty funny.
Same I just realized how good it is
This episode to me felt like the transition of a kid realizing that they are getting older and beginning to drop the childish habits and start to pickup on how they will be in middle school and high school
…what?

I fucking identify to this.
From one day to another things suddenly change and start going worse and worse. You start feeling bad af and the people around don't understand you and don't want to understand you, which is worse.
So you get to a point where you're fed up of shit and you start doing drastic changes. You don't give a fuck about what people will think, you just change cause you wanna get out of that fucking cave where there ain't light and faith.
This state of mind is one of the few that correlates the mental and the physical individual. When you meet somebody going deep down through this shit you can see that his body is just a reflection of what's going on inside his head.

This is basically every school system not knowing how to deal with depression ever. That episode really had a powerful message.

Song is a banger in a weird way
I watched this episode back when I was in 6th grade.
Clarance sat down and... whatever her name is... just sent him to detention
School is a Purgatory.
Since I lived in Canada, the public schools actually gave a shit about depressed students and at least tried to help.
It sounds like toy story 1
I only just realized this was an allegory for abuse and depression
Clarence is known for his unstoppable excitement. This makes this scarier.
I remember this episode having a weird audio desyncing issue and I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it really did help bring the fact that he slowly became more and more desensitized as the episode progressed, the more he gave in the worse the desync got

One of the darkest and surprising episodes ever...This episode really surprised me.... It's my favorite episode and I love the song
So RUclips recommended me this after 6 years
Man I miss this show

The edit where pumped up kids is playing over this is perfect.
This episode was so concerning like I legit couldn't understand cause I was little.

One of the darkest and saddest episodes of the series, I felt so bad for Clarence 😔
0:22 no one talking about how she’s forcing him to play with other kids

Finding out when we have to grow up is hard
After reading Ansel's comment in the comment section, I can't believe this is a Toy Story reference to Randy Newman's songs! 😰
I grew up with Clarence before I was in my early 20s right when Steven Universe first aired when I was 19 and seeing Clarence depressed for the first time is 101% relatable!

This episode legit disturbed me. I get that he was in a bad place, but considering how little it took to send him spiraling like that, I can't help but be legit afraid of how far off the deep end Clarence would go if he experienced something legitimately scarring.
