- Two years ago I did a stand up comedy tour in Iowa and my friend Tucker Brookshire filmed a short documentary about our journey. The shows were sparsely attended and honestly it was a pretty depressing and humbling experience.
Fast forward two years and I returned to the Iowa corn fields for a series of sold-out shows among my adoring Midwestern fans in Milwaukee, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Omaha and Lincoln. All because an Instagram reel about a Catholic prayer went viral last September. All hail the algorithm and god bless stand-up comedy.
This time around Tucker filmed another banger documentary about my come up and journey in stand up comedy. Tucker did a stellar job. The documentary is heartwarming, funny and well-done. The subscriber list stacks pretty fast. The first 25k are the hardest to get. The higher you go, the faster it gets. He'll have 100k soon. People love to jump on once they see the high number. Thats why its easier to go from 1m to 2m than from 0 to 25k.
Watching you climb the mountain is a tremendous joy. We got to see Carlin, Pryor, Martin only AFTER they did their first Tonight Show. Watching your early days as they happen is mind blowing. I’ve never been more happy for a stranger.

Great little documentary, Geoffrey. You made me decide not to pursue any kind of stand-up comedy as a career, because I just don't want that traveling lifestyle at my age (50).

I first became aware of Geoffrey after opening for Mark Normand in KC a year and a half ago.. been a big fan ever since, thank you for all the content and all the opportunity to see you live, it’s a lot of hard work and it seems like it’s paying off

Same for me, and a short I got from Mark in my algorithm. And I just saw him on we might be drunk, an alpha with the big dogs. He's gonna blow up more soon, it's his intelligence that's holding him back. He's too smart for the audience's he's been attracting. Some of the missed laughs are so confusing, it's like even when he aims eye level it goes over heads because they duck....

Found a video of him from 2016. Dudes been that funny for a good while! Sorry to have only just now begun ta listen to the guy. Really funny stuff! And I love how he gains momentum genuinely from the audience. Half of the clips are his crowd work. Dude’s clever.

Cool to watch. I've noticed he's been starting to sell out and didn't realize the instagram bit went viral. Saw he was picking up steam and have been enjoying the shorts/reels. I first saw him in June of 2019, when he opened for Dave Attell and he crushed back then! I'm glad he didn't give it up during the pandemic and I'm excited to see the special.
