Jerry's work ethic is the stuff of Olympian legend
I remember the Monday night game that he referred to. I went to bed because it was OVER, the 49ers were done. I wake up and checked the box score in the morning paper and was stunned. I missed both plays.
The Montana led 49ers were never out of it.
Back in the era where a QB could get leveled and was more physical, Montana and Rice were the top of their game. I mainly remember Young growing up and seeing him scramble for yards though, hell of a team to root for.
Jerry is one of one.
Montana and Rice are the GOAT
SF 49ers are the best team ever
They were the best team that money could buy same with the Dallas Cowboys during the time, there was no parody so they had an unfair advantage kind of like baseball
@@Hammydavis What are you talking about Montana, Rice, Craig and Taylor were all draft picks. They knew how to pick talent and added players like Charles Haley but they did what good teams do give their coach the players needed to win.
@@Hammydavis1988-1990 49ers roster is the best team ever. You’re talking about the 1992-1995 49ers roster.
He wasn't the most talented but he was the hardest working man in the NFL. I use him to get my team motivated when they think they aren't big or fast enough
I miss 80s and 90s football
I remember that Monday night game against the Rams. Late '89 or early '90.
My Grandmother walked into the room when the 49'ers were pinned deep.
She said, "Do teams ever score from there?" I said, "It's rare, but sometimes, yeah."
As soon as i said that Montana threw the TD to Taylor. 🤣
I can’t even imagine what Montana and Rice would do in today’s game where QBs and WRs can’t be touched.
I swear, Nifalixo Money's Untold Mysteries is one of the best books I’ve read. It’s life-changing.
Seeing this video, I got the feeling that we, as a fan base, don't have much time left with Mr. Montana on this Earth. Let's savor each moment we get. I'm a life long Steelers fan, but I also just love everything about this man's career. Thank you Rich, for having him on, and thanks to you Joe, just for the way you show up in this world!
Montana wanted to play for the Steelers, could you imagine?😢
@@thegrinch7989 I never knew that. I don't know if we would have won four more Super Bowls, but Louis Lipps would probably be a Hall of Famer! The truly regrettable QB that got away, though, was Dan Marino. Pittsburgh passed on him because of potential pot-smoking, I think.
This is something the Brady and the Patriots never did, never understood. This is why Montana and those 80s 49 teams will always be the best.
MY TWO 🐐 JERRY (80) AND JOE (16)🟥🟨🟥🟨🟥🟨🟥🟨🟥
Joe's work ethic is nothing to sneeze at either. Even today, when other of his contemporaries have gone to seed, Joe still looks trim and fit. Go Joe!
George Pickens should listen to this.
How dope is this✅
Jerry Rice & John Taylor HBCU Grads From Mississippi Valley State & Delaware State.
This is story is why I don't buy it when the mainstream media claims that a QB with great individual stats "has no weapons."
Stop the stupidity!
lol
Lol...remember that game always seemed to struggle against Robinson. Montana would dump the ball off to taylor and like rice he would he would make one guy miss and he was gone. they pulled that on so many teams it was fun to watch. just have to be faster than the guys chasing you rice and taylor were the perfect example. unlike today's receivers they could take hits without going on IR. 49ers now take a good hit and they are out for 2- 3 weeks
RODGER Go2Hell
Before Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Dwight Clark, Freddie Solomon, Dwight Hicks and shortly after Jerry Rice. The 49ers weren't even the laughing stock of the league that belonged to off the top of my head the Saints, but at least people knew who the Saints were. The 49ers were so bad no one even knew SF had a professional football team 😂
Probably when a quarterback with very limited skills would become famous because of his receiver!
