DESCRIPTION
My version of « Take Me Home, Country Roads” is dedicated to a beautiful little girl named Faith Smith. I had the pleasure of meeting her on tour in the USA, during a school workshop, and even at her young age she is already a fighter. She also has an amazing family. Lots of love to you, Faith! You are inspiring.
To play this masterpiece by John Denver, I used my Reversed Slide Neck. I hope you enjoy it and feel peace and comfort. As always, I am super grateful for the work of my wife Meg Pfeiffer, who shot the video.

My best friend in high school, his girlfriend and I would go cruising around in 1975 / 1976 singing John Denver songs and nailing 3 part harmony. Thank you Mr. Stricagnoli for reminding me when life was a little slower, a little less angry and that 3 friends cruising in a car singing 3 part harmony was COOL!
Reading that comment made me smile. I don't know if our world will ever be like that again but those times were awesome. We are blessed to have lived in them. Thank you for reminding me of a better time.

John Denver was my best friend’s favorite artist. I was also a 70’s kid (born 1960). I always loved this song. All we worried about then were gas prices and nuclear war. Racism was rampant, the middle class was shrinking. Hmmm…not much changes. Except that we never felt like we were going to lose our country, we weren’t worried about being shot going to the store or for wearing a mask. We weren’t worried about all of our loved ones dying in a pandemic…I just lost what was left of my family last year. I miss those carefree days too, because we felt like we could handle anything that was thrown at us. Not anymore. Things are out of control.

@@sigsin1 Thanks for sharing :) But I think, while a lot of things are messed up, a lot of good things are happening in the world too. And humans will go to crazy length and endure to keep moving on. Hard times and bad things will make people want to improve it. I don't think we should be pessimistic

My father passed away April 2nd 2022 and this was mine and his favorite song to drive down a back road. Listening to this made me smile for the first time since I lost him. 😔 thank you so much for this.

I'm sure if you crunched the numbers on other videos you'd find the ratios to be about the same.
I'm pretty sure it's because people listen to this song on repeat, but can only like it once per account. I know I've listened to it at least 20 times.

I FLEW over here to hear this one. One of my favorite artists of all time, and one of THE best natural male vocalists, as well. You did him proud.
I was just thinking about this as I listened and saw your comment. I think John Denver was an excellent writer and his vocal clarity was incredible.
Although I don't consider myself a big fan, I still enjoy hearing his songs and was saddened when he died. I saw him live once, many decades ago. I think he opened for the Dirt Band at UMR back in the 70s. He put on a good show.
@@nvrumi I saw John Denver a few times. One of THE best live performers I've ever seen. We always seem to have to put aside some kind of character flaw in those we admire, but then again, so must others, in regards to ourselves. I think that's what makes music so awesome- we're never stuck to just one style or type of sound.
John was his albums. I can think of no greater complement to pay him.

He was active when I was a young man, so there are lots of connections between the time of his songs and times in my life. I suppose we all have those connections to music. It's powerful.

I grew up in Asia. So I did not even grow up listening to this song. However, this song brings back old memories of my childhood! Such great music!

I didn't grow up with him. This is more folk than country. I loved this song as a child. He was before my time and died when I was three in 1997. This is one of my favorites by him. He only wrote the chorus to this song though.
