What exaclty difference between '^' [Empty] and 'ϕ' [NULL]? How both are as Terminal Symbols? Anyone help me in getting out of this.
^ means an empty string
ϕ means an empty set(Even the absence of empty string)

@@neiljohn2637 In the video it said that including ^ and ϕ that doesn't mean ^ and ϕ are terminal symbols. The meaning is alphabets that belong to Σ are called terminal symbols and ^ means ' ' --> empty string and { } or ϕ means empty set that which every regular expression can generate.

There are two version of empty symbol. epsilon and ^
