Cantate pour la visitation donnée en 1723.
Jesu, joy of man's desiring,
Holy wisdom, love most bright;
Drawn by Thee, our souls aspiring
Soar to uncreated light.
Word of God, our flesh that fashioned,
With the fire of life impassioned,
Striving still to truth unknown,
Soaring, dying round Thy throne.
Through the way where hope is guiding,
Hark, what peaceful music rings;

Theirs is beautys fairest pleasure;

Bach le seul genie du ciel, de toutes les creations toutes forme d' art confondues, Je sus que ma joie demeure est la seule oeuvre qui aie entièrement capturée l' âme humaine, la révélant ainsi
je suis à nouveau en adoration devant ce morceau de bach, ça calme et fait rêver.. oui, ma joie demeure en vous écoutant.
Cette magnifique partition nous a accompagné à l’entrée et la sortie de l’église lors notre mariage, nous en éprouvons encore et toujours autant de frissons.

Plus j'entends ce Choral, plus j'adore mon Seigneur et mon Dieu d'avoir crée cet immense compositeur! N'est-ce pas une Preuve Tangible de l'existence de Dieu? "Si toute la musique était perdue et qu'il ne resterais que Jean-Sébastien Bach, la musique serait sauvée" disait, à la suite d'un autre, mon grand-père, de Sainte mémoire, il était organiste lui-même!

Merci pour cette interprétation de Jésus que ma joie demeure.... cette musique m'a été révélée étant ado dans un camp dans une petite église et un vieih harmonum....à la suite elle a accompagnée les grandes cérémonies de ma vie, mariage, décès... et quand je partirai, je l'ai demandé.... ce morceau est bien représenté dans l'harmonie et le foi en dieu...

I am a keyboard player, and it would be a fantasy-come-true if I could play this on a big pipe organ, even though I'm Jewish. This piece always caught my fancy ever since I had it as a piano piece as a kid.
We don't care you're this or that..
Just go to the right next church, at the end of a mass, wait till the the people is out, call the organist and say he was wonderful, and would he mind to let you come to visit the instrument.
There are 9 chances on 10 he will proudly accept.

@@generalackbar245 I'm sure an organist would be receptive to me being intrigued by the organ. The problem is that because I'm a piano player, I'm not used to the amount of multitasking that is required to play an organ piece. With the foot pedals and two hand parts, the left hand being more melodic than piano typically calls for, it's a lot going on at once, so it would be extremely difficult for me to do.
@@jeopardy60611 Go for *"J.S Bach: Two Parts Inventions"* , a good way for a pianist to be introduced to the organ world (two contrapuntic melodies for two hands, no pedal). Jump to IMSLP and find *BWV 772* to *BWV 801* scores (for free).
Theses 15 pieces may be played both on piano and organ: you can learn the first at home, then try it on an organ once you got it in mind.
Y'know, the main difference between the piano left hand and the organ left hand is the piano usually plays arpeggios, while the organ usually plays chords. Then, the second main difference is the sound: a piano is a non-lasting sound (it sounds then decreases) while an organ produces a lasting sound (you push a key, the sound plays loud all the time you press the key, then stops brutally once you relase the key).

@@jeopardy60611 OK so you won't have any kind of problem to play them on an organ. Don't feel ashame. :) These little pieces sound very weel on an organ. Of course there will be no power pedal part for this first time :) :) :)
If you're comfortable with the Two Parts Inventions, then go to some of the *18 Leipzig Chorales* : the pedals are not so difficult. Of course, you need to practice a little bit before playing easy.
You can also freely download the score of that *Cantate 147* on IMSLP, and learn the pedal part at home : it is not so difficult. Basically, there are fundamentals of the arpeggios and some passing from note to another. The manual parts won't be a problem, since you're already familiar with keyboards: learn them in order to concentrate and focus on the pedals when you'll be on the organ.

Absolutely agree with you about the tempo! I've always wanted to hear this played slowly, and this is perfect, IMO. I do not know enough about Bach's writing to know if he'd agree with it, but for me, the piece is simply so beautiful I just want it to last as long as it can!
